Consider those coin suppose to be taken by Charon as a boat fee but he is here, that mean Charon have to somehow let Skelly be here with other sort of playment...It's might be a hint to his source in the first place! @@Psycho_Panda97 No idea about the actual mythology, but the game specifies Thanatos deals with non violent deaths only. So my understanding is that he's more like a grim reaper, to tell you your time has come.

Well apparently they get traded around in general, Nyx didn't distribute them. The question then becomes 'Who gave Skelly his companion'
