Thanks Mate! I have just got a Contaflex IV and it had a film inside. I threw that away not realising that the take up spool was attached. Now retrieved from the bin!

My goodness, you’re really the best. I’ve got a Contaflex 1, that I bought in pieces, so maybe this will help me make better sense of how to reattach the shutter! I’ve got everything else back up to snuff, but can’t figure out how to reattach the shutter! Good luck and looking forward to the rest of it!

It may seem funny. I decided to clean the lens and the first problem was taking the lens apart from the forehead. I didn't find anything on the web quickly. :).. for two days I thought about how to go about it. Found these three screws under the ring.

Hi Chris, have one of these so looking forward to seeing how they are built. Zeiss always seem to over engineer their cameras. Only issue I have with mine is a sticking shutter at speeds below 1/30th, I can live with that.

I have seen videos where they use a lens wrench to open lenses. Not sure that works for 17:40. Those tools look great though.

I also was looking for these one too! I always remember that my friend and camera repair-man hate Contaflexes. I also have one, a Super (New) and I like it. Unfortunately, the visor is dirty so ... le's see if I can clean it.
I always said to myself that I have to manage a way to send you (from the other side of the world, Argentina) my Retina's (and now, my Contaflex!) but, right now, is almost impossible.
Do you ever service a Contarex?
