I have had my RGIB21 for 2 years now and I love it! Sweetwater Music did me right, awesome out of the case! The only thing I had done was have the action lowered just a smidge by my local guitar tech. I'm playing in Drop A which is low enough for me. I play it through Neural DSP Soldano SLO-100 (Cleans/Overdrive/Distrotion) and Plini plugin for cleans and overdrive. I've been playing Ibanez since 1993 - 1994 with my RG470 but when I saw a video on the baritone, I knew I had to get it. I'm now in the market for an Ibanez RG 7 string.
Surely this guitar would be the perfect weapon for playing stuff like Meshuggah ? Especially if you mostly play rhythm and do not need as many light strings for playing solos ?
I think Meshuggah is playing F standard or half-step down from standard 8 string tuning which is F# B E A D G B E so the 6 strings on this Ibanez Baritone would be tuned to F# B E A D G I guess ? That would work pretty good with a 28" scale Baritone guitar like this Ibanez guitar right ?

I have had one for 2 years, you won't regret it. Sweetwater has probably the best deal but they sell out quick. It doesn't take long for them to get it back in. Guitar Center tried to screw me when I went to buy it there.
Getting the RGRTBB21BKF instead. Matte black finish, reverse headstock and neck-through construction. Just preordered it two days ago, no idea when delivery is.
Ibanez hit a home run with this Gtar, i love that is has a decent fixed bridge too instead of a floyd.
I do love the tone pro string through on the ESP gtars sustain for ages.
It kind of reminds me alot of the ESP specks just with a bolt on neck.
Im actually looking to pick up a mesa 4x12 over size cab to run with my 6505+ .
How does the mesa cab sound in comparison to your peavey 4x12 next to it?

Is there much clearance above the headstock in this case, is it a tight fit? Just picked one up, love it it, but hate the 81 in the bridge!
Yes, there is plenty of clearance. The case is designed to fit a 6 string baritone, 7 & 8 string guitars.

can this be tune to standard tuning?
I mean u could but wouldn't recommend would throw is in bass VI tuning tho
I standard tune this guitar and it sounds great. It's a great guitar for smooth leads as well. I chose this over my Ibanez J custom 95% of the time. It's so simple to use and tune and has great tone.
Sounds awful. Maybe it's matter of this video, used mic, or EMGs.
