If you don't love Motorhead you don't love rock&roll. I especially love the bit in this song where the solo descends into feedback and Lemmy & Phil just keep hammering away; quality. So many bands miss the point and get hung up on technical proficiency, give me wild abandon and adrenalin anyday. Lemmy I salute you and your life's work.
"When a rodies doin his job right, you don't even know he's there at all. He might step on stage just to fix a problem, set something right, and before you even know what he did, he's gone." -Eddie Riggs
I can't believe I found this clip. I was there, the Exhibition Colosseum, Toronto 1982. This was the first concert I went to!! I couldn't hear for three days!!!!
I saw them in late 1984 at L'Amour in Brooklyn and my god was that the most fucking heavy show I've ever seen...fucking madness....the skinheads were on each other's shoulders just plowing into each other and falling into the crowd.....and Motorhead was one of those bands that attracted metalheads (like me), punks, and skinheads so it was insane to see it all under one roof with Motorhead blowing the place apart. Them were the good ol days.
I may have posted this before but, I was at this concert in 1982. CNE Coliseum in Toronto. My first concert and I loved every second of it. If memory serves Krokus may have opened. We Are the Road Crew is an Anthem!
Fist, Krokus, Motorhead, I was there! No disrespect to Motorhead, but I thought Krokus stole the show that night. If my memory serves me right, Motorhead cut it short that night. Still a great night overall!
i was there also. the bomber was so fucking loud coming down it scared my buddys and they left. i also saw motoerhead at the Danforth Music Hall. i had front row. my ears where still ringing 3 days later.
Really bummed out over Lemmy's death. A true legend who gave it all every time they played. So lucky to have seen Motorhead several times over the years, I was hoping to see them a couple more times. He will be greatly missed.
According to one interview, Lemmy said that he started having the mic up like that very early in Motorhead's existence so he couldn't look at the audience and see how small the crowds were in those days.
I love it that every time me and my brother hear this song and sing it together,he changes the lyrics so it says: "another gig is what I need, another beer my ears bleed".Funny that it's so true even in that way.Lemmy always seems to need another gig and he drinks so many beers that I wouldn't be surprised if his ears would bleed.
This one was my song when i was a roadiedrawersemienginierlighttechnithician -semi manager when i was in the Best band in Spain ..Crom!!! I´m was a Fuckin´HellBastard Roadie!!
WELL NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT ' I JUST LIVED THROUGH ONE OF THE GREATEST FUCKING LIGHTNING STORMS EVER LAST WEEK ' IT WAS ALL AROUND ME ' LIGHTNING THUNDER AND HELLISH RAIN' I WAS STANDING IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK ' BEGGING FOR A STRIKE ' BUT NO SUCH LUCK ' IT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE ' MY OLD MAN WAS WATCHING SOME MOVIE INSIDE AND JUST AS THE STORM STARTED ' SIRENS CAME ON HIS MOVIE ''''' IT WAS LIKE FUCKING TWISTER ' IT WAS FREAKING CRAZY ''' I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT 'BEST THUNDER STORM I'VE EVER SEEN '
Do you have a fucking problem, Canada played an important role in Motorhead history, first off, Lemmy got kicked out of Hawkwind in Toronto, and secondly they recorded a lot of EP`s and such in Canada my friend, Canada Fucking ROCKS!!
@daveyvader True respect from a real fan of Lemmy, Motorhead and rock&roll. Have you read his autobiography yet? If not you should do so! Cheers, and rock on dude
