I know I’m five years late but Incase anyone sees this here’s a nearly perfect formula Tick Tock Clock Double Baby Mario Streetle Sponge Wheels Parafoil 10 coins almost 100% of the time and it’s the first track in its GP so you can use turbo setup
@@NachoEater1234 Looks like that's normal for this method, based on what I can tell, though after doing 48 races, you do in fact only get the 10 coins per race. My coin total was at 3300-something before doing it, and 3866 after, which confirms that I did indeed only get to keep 480 coins from player 1 instead of the full 1200-something between both players that I thought I would get. It's quite a bummer, but it is what it is.
You must also finish the track, so the coins count. You have the 10 coins faster full, but have to drive 3 times so long, that means it brings nothing.
What's your CPM (Coins per minute) on both tracks? Run 10 races of each, take the time taken and coin yield and you'll know what's better. I think Moo moo is around 20 seconds quicker than mute city per lap...so basically taking an extra minute for an extra 1-2 coins per race.
+Zwirrklop von Staller Baby park is also terrible for this trick, all racers hug the outside which makes the track incredibly slow, and there are so few coins hey'll actually run into. Too unreliable.
Yeah "only coins" just activates coins on the courses. "No Items" is just an empty course. And oh ok +Nintendo Life I've read that Baby Park also works, but if you say so (and you tested everthing out) I guess you're right ^^
I question whether Moo Moo Meadows is the best course for farming. After some testing of my own, I've found that the game only tracks and saves the amount of coins P1 collects, not all participating players. While testing all the first courses in each cup, I found that Tick-Tock Clock (Lightning Cup) nearly always yielded 10 coins to both participants in Two players-mode, and always to a racer with the right set up. (I strongly suggest high acceleration. Also make sure the opponent(s) and you have different stats so they don't stay too close to each other.) In comparison, Moo Moo Meadows netted me a total of 16 coins through 4 races, and Tick-Tock Clock yielded a whopping 40 coins! I didn't measure the time it took to complete the Clock course (ironically), so I don't know if it takes more or less time than the Meadows, but you sure earn a great amount of coins from it in a decent amount of time.
I just tried it out. Tick-Tock Clock took 2:26 and I got 10 coins, Moo Moo Meadows took 2:12 and I only got 2 coins LOL. I forgot to tweak my kart and wheel options, but difference in finish time should be the same regardless right? If you can tweak you kart and wheels to guarantee a 10-coin yield each race, you'll save around 14 seconds per race. Not a substantial difference, but the 10 coins in Tick-Tock Clock do seem more consistent 🤔
Man Mario Kart 8 deluxe looks like ass on RUclips so much video compression I can't even describe. IRL it looks gorgeous with that delicious Nintendo polish on it.
I just timed it myself on Moo Moo Meadows, Big Blue, and Mute City. Big Blue clocked in with 2nd place crossing the line at 2m06s, which was /significantly/ faster than Moo Moo Meadows (by 20 seconds on a good MMM run) and guarantees 10 coins per race. Moo Meadows not only is slower, but also gets 8 or 9 coins at most IF you don't hit a cow. If you do hit a cow, it slows your time down considerably and often drops coins. I tested this several times. I /did/ confirm that it is 10 coins max per race, not per player.
faster method: To easily farm coins, complete the following steps. This exploit also requires two Joy-Cons (two single ones are fine). Select Multiplayer mode, and choose two players. Select "VS Race". Select Lemmy as the first player and Larry as the second player. Set Lemmy's kart as the "Streetle" with "Standard" tires and "Parafoil" as the glider. Set Larry's kart as the "Cat Cruiser" with "Sponge" tires and "Parafoil" as the glider. (If you have more controllers, just select other combinations and itll work fine) While setting up both karts, press + or - on each controller to change the settings. Set "Auto Steering" to "On", "Control" to "Joystick" (motion control will not work), and "Auto Accelerate" to "On". At the race settings screen, select "200cc Race" and set "Teams" to "No Teams", "Items" to "No Items", "COM" to "No COM", "COM Vehicles" to "All Vehicles", "Courses" to "Choose", and "Race Count" to "48 Races" (number can change, but 48 is recommended if you will be coin farming for an hour or two). Go to the Egg Cup and choose Mute City as the track. Select the "OK" prompt when it appears. Then, simply set both controllers down and let the game play for an hour or two. Each race takes approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds -- so you can complete a cup about every 10 minutes.
@@Raff4el_oh, ok, so what they were saying boils down to "just play as Lemmy, with the Streetle, standard tires, and parafoil, and larry with the Cat Cruiser, Sponge tires, and parafoil, set the track to mute city, and follow the video the rest of the way. Hope this helps!
Wouldn't Mute City be a better option for farming? With coins coming from those energy pads and the characters hugging the wall, they could get 10 coins on the first lap.
If you just want to grind the coins, and get them 3x faster. Just do custom race, 200cc, CPU on easy, only items are coins and golden mushroom, Baby Park track. The race takes on average 1 minute to complete and with 48 races you’re averaging 480 coins every 50 minutes
Years late but I agree on the Tick Tock Clock strat. With double Peachette, rollers, paperglider and then first player on Streetle and second player on Biddybuggy.
The best map to use for “farming” is mute city. The reason why is the rainbow stuff gives coins always in the side, and you cannot fall off the map 100% of getting 10 coins for each player.
Try: Baby Mario> Mr. scooty> roller wheels> cloud glider> same settings> big blue...High stat acceleration and high stat handling. You actually only get 10 coins total per race anyways (only 1st player counts) so have only 2 players... you'll get 480 guaranteed with approximately 2 minutes to initiate and finish each race.
Maybe in a patch, a 'Repeat' option can be added for course selection. After choosing a track, the game would automatically choose that same track every single time. This would negate the time spent in choosing Moo Moo Meadows an extra 47 times as it would not require any user input, saving a few minutes in the long run. By the way, just as a side note, this is actually a feature I've wanted since Mario Kart Wii...
I just did my own little experiment using the same kart set ups as the video (Luigis, sponge tires, etc), between Moo Moo Meadows, Mute City, and Big Blue. Moo Moo Meadows: Average 2-2:30 minutes to complete Average 6-10 coins per race Mute City: Average 2:45-3:00 minutes to complete 10 coins every time Big Blue: Average 2-2:30 minutes to complete 10 coins every time. Big Blue is the obvious choice. It's about exactly as short as Moo Moo Meadows, plus it's a "Guaranteed 10 coins" as aposed to "Maybe 10 coins". The only downside is you can't mash A to choose the stage again for the next race.
Does it add the total coins of both players or just the coins of the player that finishes first? If it's the former, wouldn't it be more efficient to do this with four players?
Best set up I've tested: Larger is Better Bowser Badwagon Monster wheels (Any glider) His weight makes him not lose coins from bumping into cows (most of the time, seen it once) His size allowed him to get 8-10 coins as others got 2-6 most

I know that you can only have up to 10 while you're racing... But each coin you collect after you are maxed out, does it still count for unlocking carts? It seems like it should. Thanks
Who else noticed at 3:36 the text? (it says "A lifetime supply of internets to whoever comments telling me where that glorious audio was coming from" your welcome
1:47 what course should I choose, you ask? Well, I always choose Mute City and Big Blue to collect as many coins as I can with the help of the charge pads on one of the sides
Moo Moo Meadows is really not the best course, at least nowawdays. I used the same kart combinations recommended in the video and found that Moo Moo Meadows, on multiple occasions, didn't yield 10 coins for at least one bot. I also tried Tik-Tock Clock like that other comment suggested, but I found that it was incosistent, with one bot always getting 10 coins and the other varying from 5-10 coins. Big Blue guarenteed both bots to get 10 coins within the first 10 seconds of starting because of the healing pads. The same goes for Mute City. Currently I am using 3 bots (both joycons and a pro controller) at a time to yield 30 coins from one race (the three bots each get 10 coins within 10 secs of starting as well), if you were to start from 0 coins, it would take around 167 races to get to 5000 coins. Also, if the bots didn't get max coins at the start, there are plenty of healing pads on the walls of the course, since the bots love to hug those, you'll find 10 coins will come easily.
You mean to tell me obtaining coins on moo moo farms is faster than Mute city, which is littered with speed boosts and paths on the sides of the track, where the racers are most of the time, that give coins at a fast rate?
I worked my bum off to get the Gold Kart and Gold Tires in a 2 day time span. I will happily let the game do the work for me for the Gold Glider. I earned the relaxation.
can't believe I listened to this video... after getting tired of the low inconsistent average of coins with 4 players.. I decided to move to Big Blue, and each character gets a guaranteed 10 coins no problem each time.
So you're saying that instead of racing, you should race but have everything done for you at a slower rate than normal. Is that really the best thing you could think of?
Alex W farming is usually slower, but it's purpose is to do other things instead of grinding. I would personally use this, *if* I had already earned all this on mk8
+MasterMarioMX Could be a regional difference; in the PAL version there's a different option called 'No Items or Coins' that turns even on-track coins off.
OR you can just do Big Blue for a guaranteed 10 coins per race due to the energy strips & lack of stage hazards. Timed it at 1:53.55 w/3 babies @ near Max acceleration. Moo Moo took over 2 minutes.

You got the item list wrong. It's "Coins", not "No Items". Other than that, Excellent guide guys.
+MasterMarioMX Could be a regional difference; in the PAL version there's a different option called 'No Items or Coins' that turns even on-track coins off.
never though that one out.
it's much better if you the same thing except without the starters stuff and just stay in one place that the coin will respawn again and again
I would of thought the f zero tracks would be better since they have charge pads and few obstacles
Has anyone noticed that the city tripper is actually the motor scooter from mario odyssey? 🛵
Do the boost pad things on Mute City work for this or no?
tfw when people talk about smash 4 having too many clones but they could care less about clones in mario kart
This is a great method! But I think the track Big Blue is much more consistent with this method.
If it doesn't matter what courses you choose, why wouldn't you choose random courses instead of choose?
Nice , I took my switch off from tv and use it handheld . Now I can afk farm and watch tv at same time
do you get coins from coin battles?
does it matter if player 2 gets coins?
Could you jest tape down the A button?
I did dry bowser
moo moo meadow
Spriter 2.0
slippery (purple) sorry if i got it wrong
Normal glider
This is really helpful but if you get on Mute City with 200 cc and the rest of your controlls and its way faster
would this be twice as fast with 4 players?
Does the coin battle mode not count towards coins collected?
Even though I forgot about this vid, those settings were what I did on Wii u
What about baby park? Would that be good to farm?
Will coin Runners work in battle
POV) you checked the comments to see if this was true
...or just play the game and have fun.
To be fair a played the game a LOT on the Wii U and never unlocked the last cart parts.
***** But collecting coins is important, though.
JustA GameNewb Word! This video is so stupid.
For MK8 Wii U players why the fuck would they grind for coins all over again do you realize how much hell that was for us
Diamond Eevee I played MK8 WiiU... Still, fuck grinding, I'm not a pussy
But... Only P1's Coins are counted
OR you can just do Big Blue for a guaranteed 10 coins per race due to the energy strips & lack of stage hazards. Timed it at 1:53.55 w/3 babies @ near Max acceleration. Moo Moo took over 2 minutes.
