He found his voice so early too, his music projects in high school allowed him to perfect it. Into college and beyond with his work on Teenage Cool Kids, he was truly able to explore more in music because of that foundation work he put in. He truly has earned where he's at right now, he has put in the work for so many years!
sounds like it's actually pretty shredded here, in a way that might not be healthy. he might just be sick or this might be late in a set/tour/whatever but it sounds like his vocal chords are kinda giving out.

One of the things I love about this band is their ability to look like they’re about to fall into total collapse at any moment, but at the same time keep it all together with perfect execution. Other than the drummer who just looks like he’s chillin, playing with Lego’s.
The Drummer is definitely channeling Charlie Watt of Rolling Stones fame. He’s so calm and collected, yet he destroys the drums with his powerful rhythm
I remember seeing parquet courts in like 2014 with other acts when they were fairly new and thought they were a lot of fun but their latest stuff is incredible work
I find it interesting that Austin and Sean are so much quieter in this performance compared to the studio performance, but Andrew maintains the same visceral raw vocals in both versions.
Andrew Savage in recent interview with NPR: ""Total Football" isn't exactly a hardcore song, but that's the imagery I see when I hear it. Kids stage-diving and creepy crawling. Definitely a lot of [hardcore punk] youth crew influence toward the end, with the gang vocals, and the vocals on the outro. The bass line of the song was inspired by Devo. I had these parts written for the longest time before [adding] the pre-chorus and chorus bits. The lyrics take the form of a manifesto, which is fitting for the first song on this album I think. Bold and declarative."
The album art also has a reference to that album (Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!) and this song in particular. The cover has "Q: Are you quite done now? A: Not at all!" which is also a lyric in this song.
For all the people who are like “omg, a new rock album that’s good???”, there’s a ton of new amazing shit that flies under the radar. And also, the band Crumb is probably going to be worldwide indie darlings soon. The best modern psychedelic music I can think of.
That BASSS LINE
Yah
And barely any footage of the bass player 😔
Mmm hmm
Glad we’re all here for the same reason🤝
Sean is criminally underrated. He’s always doing something cool with his bass parts!
Great Bass
A Savage just has the coolest, rawest voice.
What about a gentleman though?

THOSE WHO FIND DISCOMFORT IN YOUR GOALS OF LIBERATION WILL BE ISSUED NO APOLOGY!

The Drummer is definitely channeling Charlie Watt of Rolling Stones fame. He’s so calm and collected, yet he destroys the drums with his powerful rhythm

Mario Galeano, Well, what's wrong those two?
Such a good song to hear again and again, love the breaks, just what we need nowadays.
_"Can we get more hi-hats in the mix please"_
I wish they'd do that sick lead guitar line (during the "IT IS DISHONEST!" bit) live; it's so good
Best bass player I've heard for a very long time.

Yes indeed! I'm loving everything I've heard so far
Easily my favorite band of the last decade. It’s been quite a ride with these guys.. they know what’s up. They define relevance imo.

Pretty sure I got carpal tunnel just by watching the bassist

That snare sounds great!
Iggy Pop, now a presenter on BBC 6 Music, says he will play ANY song this bands plays. He would know.

Love that they’re putting this shit up here in Austin 🎸 - Skip ACL, we need more theatre shows from you guys.

savage is his name cause savage is how he feels
For some reason it reminds me of Gut Feeling by Devo
You're right in a way. I love Devo
Exact same chords.
Andrew Savage in recent interview with NPR: ""Total Football" isn't exactly a hardcore song, but that's the imagery I see when I hear it. Kids stage-diving and creepy crawling. So good live!

I heartily share their feelings about Tom Brady.
xTheOxx That's because you're a complete tool.
You eat ice cream; everybody knows it.
Hah, I can't argue with hating that stupid diet.
What @xTheOxx said
xTheOxx i think they might be referring to ajax and 70s netherlands

One of the best songs about football (soccer). They truly get the true meaning of total football!
You do get the real meaning of this song right?
Its NOT about soccer. I thought it was too 😂

Their first album was released in 2011, so I'm guessing you mean new to you.
These guys remind me of Wire
What chords are Austin playing
which guitar is the bullet strat ? what is this brand ?
redmo Squier, he’s had it forever
COLLECTIVISM AND AUTONOMY ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE
Anybody know what chords he’s playing?
For all the people who are like “omg, a new rock album that’s good???”, there’s a ton of new amazing shit that flies under the radar. And also, the band Crumb is probably going to be worldwide indie darlings soon. The best modern psychedelic music I can think of.
