    The shoe thing can be done for different reasons, sometimes by gangs as a way of communicating. But in most cases, it's done as a celebration of something. In LA, it was common for younger guys to do that after getting married or losing virginity, or even just having sex. People in LA would look for any reason to celebrate. I remember that being a problem in South and East LA because so many shoes were hanging and weighing down the power and phone lines, it would damage them. It was actually so costly for the city to keep up with.

    This is an insane franchise. It quickly goes off the rails in terms of being somewhat realistic, but as a movie to just sit back and take it in, it's awesome. Each one has to be more bombastic than the previous one. A point about the car culture here: there's a rivalry between two types of car. There's the US muscle cars, which are more about being mechanical, reliable, heavy, powerful and RWD (rear wheel drive) etc, and the Japanese muscle cars, which tend to be AWD (all wheel drive), with various layers of CPU and sensors everywhere. These are super light weight, tuned to within an inch of their lives. US muscle cars are a problem in slippery conditions, and you need to embrace the fact that you're gonna be sliding round corners at high speed, and always on that tipping point where you spin out. The power pushes to the back wheels. Japanese cars are perfectly balanced, which makes the handling so much easier. It's not quite so cut and dry as this, but it's the underlying rivalry. The 3rd movie is in Tokyo, where the local car culture is about drift racing, which is a whole new level of control.

    A lesson 1 from Fast and Furious 4:21 For manual transmission, leftmost pedal is the clutch. Pressing clutch disconnects engine from gears and wheels. While pressing clutch in right time, transmissions can be changed with shift stick. Gas pedal is on rightmost, pressing it increases engine RPMs. Lowest revs save fuel, but high revs provide maximum energy for acceleration. 9:41 Highest revs require heated oil = more liquided, but engine should not be overheated.

  • @kaojinn
    @kaojinn Год назад +4

    Nitrous is neat. It acts as a way to get more oxygen into the engine for the combustion process. Oxygen + Fuel + Compression = Power, so increasing the oxygen getting into the cylinder can immediately produce a quick boost of power. Theres a couple of ways to do it. The cheapest least effective method is to release it in gas form directly into the air intake. The best methods combine it with fuel and inject it directly into the cylinder in liquid form.

Then, after a couple more films they brought back the original cast. So, the film series has its ups and downs. The stronger films tend to have the original cast. Poor Paul Walker (Brian O'Connor) died as a passenger in a car accident in 2013, R.I.P.🙏🏽But, he did make several Fast and the Furious films first. The shoe thing is like related to Bullying. The Bullies would tie the shoelaces and fling them over power lines. One shoe acts as the anchor, while the other shoe swings around the power line because of momentum.
    The bullies would then laugh at how the victim was failingly try to get them back, or have them go home Barefoot.
    Although it is more like a dumb prank than serious bullying. Mostly done by Middle School kids back then.

    The reason why Nitrous Oxide (N²O) is used in cars, is because combustion needs 3 things: fuel, oxygen, and a spark to ignite the fuel. When operating normally, oxygen is provided from the atmosphere, but Nitrous has a higher oxygen rate than atmospheric air, so when you add that into the mix (and the additional fuel to match it, bc there is a balance of fuel and oxygen you have to keep) then that causes stronger combustions, and by extention, more power from your engine.

    Another thing to note: Nitrous (NOS) doesn't explode in a fire. It combusts (burns) but wont blow up. Cars need a specific ratio of air to fuel to explode at the proper temperature without damaging the engine components, generally about 14.7 parts of oxygen to 1 part gasoline. Nitrous puts more oxygen molecules into the combustion chamber so you can then add way more fuel and get a bigger boom!

    Nitrous oxide helps combustion. The power you can produce in an internal combustion engine depends on how much fuel you can burn for each power stoke of an engine. More fuel burnt =more power. But you can only put so much fuel in at one time. Too much fuel and the fire goes out. You have to have enough air, or more precisly, enough oxygen to burn the fuel. You can pump more air in with a turbo charger or supercharger. Or you can inject NOS (Nitrous oxide) which provides more oxygen. But all of that puts a heavy strain on the structure of the motor.BOOM!!
    Shoes hanging from powerlines or anything else represent people (kids) killed in gang warfare.

    The first drop in quality in the sequels is easily part 4. Then the best was 5 and after that they just became fun romps that have way over the top action set pieces. Kind of like the transporter films which are also really fun.

    17:10 it differs from place to place. In my city the shoes hanging from the cables means that in that spot or nearby you can buy drugs, any type of drugs. In other places means guns or prostitution. Anyways, it always is something illegal.

    17:13 The thing with the shoes. This happens in many countries all over the world, so I assume the meanings could change here and there. I've heard rumor that it could be marking gang territory, or drug deal spots. Mostly from what I've seen, it's usually the result of practical jokes or bullying, especially in areas of high poverty rates where shoes can be an expensive cost on a household, especially if it's a high demand brand. I absolutely LOVED this franchise for the first few movies, but it started veering more towards just big obviously unrealistic stunts and less about story. I think the last one I watched was the 7th, and already was starting to get bored with it by the 5th. Of the ones that I have seen, the second is probably my favorite.

    Usually shoes on a wire represent a kid died. (Not sure if it has to be a kid), I've seen it a few times in my life, a neighbor would toss shoes up on the wire because they lost their kid.

    Nitrous puts more oxygen in with the fuel than normal air can, so the engine makes more power. In reality, this is part of the air/fuel management of the car and isn't a hyperspace button

  • @jadu79
    @jadu79 Год назад

    with NOS, cars can get 30-60% more power if you add the right amount of fuel and it makes the combustion faster then there should be the right pre-ignition, (this with NOS is nothing new as it was used during WW2 in planes and in car racing used it from the 1960s but it wears on the motor so it crashes if you don't give more fuel and reduce the ignition)
    and with a 10-second car, they mean that 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds (car approx. 0-200 km/h under 10 seconds)
    Also recommend your to check out the trilogy with Vin Diesel who started ped Pitch Black about Riddick (that movie came out in 2000 and then it was a while until the two later ones

    Nitrous oxide allows the engine to burn more fuel by providing more oxygen during combustion. The increase in oxygen allows an increase in the injection of fuel, allowing the engine to produce more power.

    Oh and btw Blue...there was an After-Credit Scene on this one; it just shows that Dominic did make it all the way to Mexico. There are Mid-Credit Scenes with the 5th, 6th and 9th which will be important...so You might want to make a Note "Not to Miss" those!

    1. Be open-minded with these movies cause they go from street racing to saving the world on a daily basis in a blink of an eye.
    2. Don't miss out on the credit scene of Tokyo Drift.
