I think its so wonderful how you keep a notebook for each child and family. I was not able to have children myself but this would be a good way for me to leave some thoughts and pics for my siblings or a cherished friend. Hmm ...a secret insert to my hubby perhaps. I had a heart attack when you put packing tape on your artwork. Packing tape is ACIDIC and will eat away at all those pretty pictures in the years too come.
Oh good point! Do you know of any alternatives? I’ve used mod podge in the past but I don’t like the texture and how it warps the shape when it dries. It also takes too long, packing tape is fast and easy😅

I have a similar one and I can never get the corners close enough to 90 degrees on the first whack. I'm also fascinated by the way you're storing your stickers now. Maybe you could show us how you came up with that plan sometime. Great to see another YT from you so soon.

Those covers turned out so beautifully! 😍 I decorated a cover along side you! I never thought to use use a weekly insert for as my child's memory keeper. I have always used a blank one and just filled it scrapbook style, a weekly is such a better idea!!! I will have to try it next time. Aren't those King Jim folders such a life saver!! 😅 I do the same with my ephemera papers and stickers too, I have a shelf full of them. Before they were all over the place, in pouches just neglected 😂

The stamp is “Kubominoki Original Wooden Rubber Stamp-Happiness” in case you want to look for it elsewhere. The craft stickers are from WaWaStationery on Etsy, not sure if they still carry them.

Oh! As far as the method, I lay a ruler down about 1/4” from the edge of the leather with my left hand then use my right hand to press the chisel in and mark the leather starting at the bottom and working my way up-making sure to hold the chisel against the ruler the whole way. Then I get my hammer and punch the chisel all the way through using my marks as a guide.

Thank you! Yes I write a sentence or two to each kid. It’s usually something that they did or said, I might compliment them, encourage them, etc. I plan on giving them all of the completed journals when they’re grown up.
I can only recommend doing journals for the kids! Sarah, you inspired me to do so years ago and their journals are my most important ones now. Do your kids "use" their journals, too? My 4year old often collects things "for my journal" or "can I write 'I love you' in it?", it is so precious!

Hello Sarah, do these ink pads bleed through your paper? I’ve had the toughest time trying to find ones that don’t.
The versa magic inks give me no bleed through even on Tomoe river paper! It’s my favorite😊
