"What is this? A shelter for ants?"
THANK YOU! Terrific to see a desert survival scenario. I'd love to explore the northern Ohio region, but I live in Southern California (don't hate me. I've been here for 70 years so far) where there are no beautiful tulip poplars for bark, no long, straight anything to build a shelter with and no streams of cool water. THIS is familiar to me and great to see the issues of desert survival addressed.
Depending on the exact location of your desert this amount of material could take MILES of foraging. My only desert experience is Ft. Bliss, NTC, 29 Palms and it would take some doing to create any kind of shelter. Love her videos. (Edit) 10:04 Thanks!
Greetings from Cochise county Arizona. Great content
Greetings from Pima county neighbor
Very nice start, but then I would add some more branches on top, to help hold the fluff in place.
Great video with nice tips
Thanks for making this video. I've spent most of my life in BC and have little experience with desert locations. Always good to learn new things.😊
Where did she get those style of sandals, and where would I purchase some for myself and my wife? Thanks in advance.
Nice one mate 👍👍
how do we expect to teach children to read if they cant even fit inside the building..
What is this, a shelter for ants?!!!!

Well,
I actually tried.
I gave this lady the benefit of the doubt, but I can't keep watching her vids.
There are 2 other women on YT that I sub to, so it's not a
"Women can't do outdoorsy things"
deal for me.
Maybe it's her delivery or her hippieish style, or sometimes her pick in equipment, to me at least, is irrelevant or even nonsensical.
And yes, being as old as I am, and living close to the same kind of area as she, I do have some experience.
Hell, I've got so much experience, I've had my dumb ass lost more than once.
No one is ever a bonafide expert at this game, you're always learning.
No offense but maybe this lady should take people on short nature walks instead of teaching something that if she's not careful, could get someone dead.
LET THE HATE POSTING/SNIDE REMARKS BEGIN!
@Kevin Smith you're welcome to make your own channel, with blackjack and hookers🤷♂️
i sent a response to this remark i think i deleted it by mistake..silly me.
however,
miss rechnitz is a very useful and resourcful
individual, whom i would dream about being taught by.
this woman is actually trained and could easily be a doctor..she has chosen to choose to do what she loves instead of
treading the status quo road.
we admire this free thinking attitude.??
dont we.
true to the spirit as i see it and thats what i look for in a outdoorsman /woman.
she fits the bill for me and maybe
lack of exposure i think is her biggest problem..
so pardon the pun miss rechnitz
but show us some more🖖
We actually tried your method and it works. We survived for three days with little food & water that we had plus foraging for edibles. Cheers Kirsten, we've learn so much of improvisaion from your vids. Our hero.!
You need a Barba doll!!!
Great job. Trees are a bit spooky now, many are dying, from the spraying over time, the roots are sick, branches are weak, and oak is particularly heavy. Be aware of it.
Are there generally oak trees in the desert?
I have lived in the desert for 10 years and have yet to see any so they must be very illusive.
We have some in the high desert of Southern Az. Kinda getting into the mountains at that point though.
I'm not sure what desert you live in, but I have lived in the Arizona Sonoran desert for 41 years and the view out my front door is a 9000 ft mountain. AZ is ranked 17th in the US for states with total forest acreage. It is an extremely diverse place, the landscape and environment can change very quickly. You might want to take heed on what this woman has to say before you become another body found. As we like to say here cactus to pines!
You're duff looks amazing and comfy.
Kirsten = KNOWLEDGE .....
Loving this series 🤠
