As an agnostic athiest watching this I actually find this rather convincing. I recently borrowed a Quran from my muslim friend and got a Bible from church so im planning on reading through both of these. I used to be rather skeptical of the existence of a God but recently I would say its come more to a 50/50 in my head.
We as human beings can know the existence of god through our intuition. In a study done by Harvard’s psychology department, they found that humans who were isolated had instinctive belief in god. An example of this is the aborigines, they believed in the one god. This is clear proof that humans instinctively have a feeling of god. But don’t mistake that feeling/knowledge of the existence of god by interpreting it as an experience of god like some believe such as Sikhs. May the almighty lord guide you ☺️

Amazing! Allahu Akbar! I remember sitting in my physics and biology classes in school and becoming fascinated by what I was learning through science because I felt like I already knew most of it before. And I did because... Through learning the Qur'an I had already known so much and when I would hear the teachers talk about the different aspects of science it was so easy to put two and two together because I was already educated about those facts from the Qur'an. Allah ta'ala is truly the most magnificent. We can learn so much from the Qur'an, Subhan'Allah.

In many cases the working of objects can be determined by study. We can predict the orbits of the planets using a Newtonian model of gravity. Newton would be first person to tell you how it works - no atheist would say that Newton is the creator of the planets. Naik is presenting a stawman which he then (poorly) attacks. For example he cites Surah Anbiya ch 21 V 30 "Do those who disbelieve not see that the heavens and the earth were (once) one mass all closed up, then We rent them apart. And it is from water that We created all life. Will they not believe (in the face of all this).". This isn't congruent with the big bang which states that matter is condensed energy and not that it was one mass all closed up.
Hello. I am an atheist. I define atheism as suspending acknowledgement of the existence of gods until sufficient evidence can be presented. My position is that *_I have no good reason to acknowledge the existence of gods._* And here is the evidence as to why I currently hold to such a position. 1. I personally have never observed a god. 2. I have never encountered a person whom has claimed to have observed a god. 3. I know of no accounts of persons claiming to have observed a god that were willing or able to demonstrate or verify their observation for authenticity, accuracy, or validity. 4. I have never been presented a valid logical argument which also employed sound premises that lead deductively to a conclusion that a god(s) exists. 5. Of the 46 logical syllogisms I have encountered arguing for the existence of a god(s), I have found all to contain multiple fallacious or unsubstantiated premises. 6. I have never observed a phenomenon in which the existence of a god was a necessary antecedent for the known or probable explanation for the causation of that phenomenon. 7. Several proposed (and generally accepted) explanations for observable phenomena that were previously based on the agency of a god(s), have subsequently been replaced with rational, natural explanations, each substantiated with evidence that excluded the agency of a god(s). I have never encountered _vice versa._ 8. I have never experienced the presence of a god through intercession of angels, divine revelation, the miraculous act of divinity, or any occurrence of a supernatural event. 9. Every phenomenon that I have ever observed has *_emerged_* from necessary and sufficient antecedents over time without exception. Egyptians Greeks malayan many were advanced in science way before the quran. But they had within themselves different scholars saying different things about quantum mechanics, cosmology, biology etc.. it's TRUE some of them were right but most of their other statements were wrong How did a man who cant read or write, previously (before age of 40 was a sheperd , only traveled minimally gather only the correct information and leave out all the mistakes, keeping in mind that ancient Egypt, Roman's etc etc had only theories nothing was proven, How is this mentioned in a quran found in the United kingdom library dated to the 7th century using carbon dating? Ofcourse if you cant answer these questions this does not equal to GOD, because this is a fallacy in logic.. but think with your mind and use your own logic? I think whatever the popular theories were there only those are copied into the Qur'an. The real question is Why Qur'an doesn't contain a single fact that was not known to any human at that time? Most of the so called "proofs" mentioned by Zakir Naik were already popular beliefs in those days. And others are just lies by Zakir. Qur'an doesn't mention moon's light is reflected. The word used is noor which simply means light, which is a scientific mistake btw. Just becoz different words are used for sun and moon doesn't mean moon's light is described as reflected. Qur'an doesn't mention that earth is ostrich egg shaped. Dahaha doesn't mean that. Not a single classical dictionary/tafsir says that, which is even admitted by popular muslim apologist Mohammad hijab and other Arabic scholars.

He did not. He couldn’t. Quoting an ancient text is not providing a scientific proof and his interpretations even less. Many have try to prove the existence of God and all of them failed miserably. He wasn’t the first to try and he certainly wouldn’t be the last. I’m glad he failed just like everyone else because if this becomes a matter of scientific knowledge and not of belief than it would drastically undermine the most beautiful aspect of any religion « Faith! » or Imaan as you would call it. If these are the best arguments for the existence of god then i don't know what went wrong. Ancient greeks 1000 years before islam came already thougt that every living thing came from water. Are they messengers of god? No. Did they just look at nature and use common sense? Awnser for yourself...

How about the following explanation: Atheists believe that the universe began with The Big Bang. The question is what was there in that space and the time before The Big Bang? If there is an exlpanation, the question of what was before that again appears. The human mind will never stop repeating this question. This question is finally answered when one accepts a Creator who created that time and space. The atheist may ask the same question "what was before the Creator?". The answer is that Time and Space itself are creations of the Creator so there was no time and no space before they were created by the Creator. Today's science proves that time is a variable which theoretically becomes zero if something travels with the speed of light so time is proved to be a Creation. The concepts of eternity and infinity can not be understood by human brains because our capacity to understand is limited to the limits of our brains. An unlimited thing can not be contained in a limited thing.

It’s non-intuitive to understand that all this complexity is just natural and no intervention of any being is required, it’s much much simpler and easier for humans to believe that some being did it magically, especially when we are indoctrinated to believe from a very early age by our parents, teachers, leaders, elders practically everyone. When people talk about reconciling science and religion, that is only an issue with people who have preconceived ideas, but scientists cannot/should-not have preconceived ideas they must believe the evidence. I recently borrowed a Quran from my muslim friend and got a Bible from church so im planning on reading through both of these. I used to be rather skeptical of the existence of a God but recently I would say its come more to a 50/50 in my head.

We as human beings can know the existence of god through our intuition. In a study done by Harvard’s psychology department, they found that humans who were isolated had instinctive belief in god.
An example of this is the aborigines, they believed in the one god. This is clear proof that humans instinctively have a feeling of god. But don’t mistake that feeling/knowledge of the existence of god by interpreting it as an experience of god like some believe such as Sikhs.

I remember sitting in my physics and biology classes in school and becoming fascinated by what I was learning through science because I felt like I already knew most of it before. And I did because... Through learning the Qur'an I had already known so much and when I would hear the teachers talk about the different aspects of science it was so easy to put two and two together because I was already educated about those facts from the Qur'an.

اس آیہ کریمہ میں " آسمان " کا مطلب کیا ہے ؟
اس کی تشریح کی ضرورت ہے ۔ جدید کاسمولوجی کے مطالعہ سے جو بات سمجھ میں آتی ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ اس سے مراد معلوم کائنات ہے ۔ اللہ رب العزت نے اس پوری کائنات کو انسانوں کے لیے ایک محفوظ چھت بنادیا ہے ۔ اگر یہ محفوظ چھت نہ ہو تو انسان اس زمین پر زندگی نہیں گزار سکتا ہے ۔

یقینا وہ خالق ارض و سماوات کی ذات ہے جس نے اپنے بارے میں ارشاد فرمایا ہے :
بديع السموات والارض اذا قضى أمرا فإنما يقول له کن فيكون .
وہ آسمانوں اور زمین کا موجد جب وہ کسی امر کا فیصلہ کرتا ہے تو صرف یہ کہتا ہے کہ ہوجا تو وہ ہوجاتی ہے ۔
کیا ہم انسانوں کے لیے یہ جائز ہے کہ ہم اس کی ذات کا انکار کریں اور اس پر ایمان نہ لائیں ؟! جو سائنسدان اللہ جل شانہ کی ذات کا سائنس کے نام پر انکار کرتے ہیں کیا ان کا یہ انکار سائنسی اور م منصفانہ ( Justfied) ہے ؟ یقینا یہ ہمارے لیے موت کے بعد کی زندگی میں سخت عذاب الہی کا باعث ہوگا ۔

In many cases the working of objects can be determined by study. We can predict the orbits of the planets using a Newtonian model of gravity. Newton would be first person to tell you how it works - no atheist would say that Newton is the creator of the planets. Naik is presenting a stawman which he then (poorly) attacks. For example he cites Surah Anbiya ch 21 V 30 "Do those who disbelieve not see that the heavens and the earth were (once) one mass all closed up, then We rent them apart. And it is from water that We created all life. Will they not believe (in the face of all this).". This isn't congruent with the big bang which states that matter is condensed energy and not that it was one mass all closed up.
Hello. I am an atheist. I define atheism as suspending acknowledgement of the existence of gods until sufficient evidence can be presented. My position is that *_I have no good reason to acknowledge the existence of gods._*
And here is the evidence as to why I currently hold to such a position.
1. I personally have never observed a god.
2. I have never encountered a person whom has claimed to have observed a god.
3. I know of no accounts of persons claiming to have observed a god that were willing or able to demonstrate or verify their observation for authenticity, accuracy, or validity.
4. I have never been presented a valid logical argument which also employed sound premises that lead deductively to a conclusion that a god(s) exists.
5. Of the 46 logical syllogisms I have encountered arguing for the existence of a god(s), I have found all to contain multiple fallacious or unsubstantiated premises.
6. I have never observed a phenomenon in which the existence of a god was a necessary antecedent for the known or probable explanation for the causation of that phenomenon.
7. Several proposed (and generally accepted) explanations for observable phenomena that were previously based on the agency of a god(s), have subsequently been replaced with rational, natural explanations, each substantiated with evidence that excluded the agency of a god(s). I have never encountered _vice versa._
8. I have never experienced the presence of a god through intercession of angels, divine revelation, the miraculous act of divinity, or any occurrence of a supernatural event.
9. Every phenomenon that I have ever observed has *_emerged_* from necessary and sufficient antecedents over time without exception. In other words, I have never observed a phenomenon (entity, process, object, event, process, substance, system, or being) that was created _ex nihilo_ - that is instantaneously came into existence by the solitary volition of a deity.
10. All claims of a supernatural or divine nature that I have encountered have either been refuted to my satisfaction, or do not present as falsifiable.
ALL of these facts lead me to the only rational conclusion that concurs with the realities I have been presented - and that is the fact that there is *_no good reason_* for me to acknowledge the existence of a god.
I have heard often that atheism is the denial of the Abrahamic god. But denial is the active rejection of a substantiated fact once credible evidence has been presented. Atheism is simply withholding such acknowledgement until sufficient credible evidence is introduced. *_It is natural, rational, and prudent to be skeptical of unsubstatiated claims, especially extraordinary ones._*

I think whatever the popular theories were there only those are copied into the Qur'an.
The real question is Why Qur'an doesn't contain a single fact that was not known to any human at that time?
Most of the so called "proofs" mentioned by Zakir Naik were already popular beliefs in those days. And others are just lies by Zakir. Qur'an doesn't mention moon's light is reflected. The word used is noor which simply means light, which is a scientific mistake btw. Just becoz different words are used for sun and moon doesn't mean moon's light is described as reflected. Qur'an doesn't mention that earth is ostrich egg shaped. Dahaha doesn't mean that. Not a single classical dictionary/tafsir says that, which is even admitted by popular muslim apologist Mohammad hijab and other Arabic scholars.

With all due respect to Dr. Zakir Naik (PBUH), if the existence of God can be scientifically proven, what would then be the value of faith?
the quran is not a book is science its a book of signs. To people who think the quran was man made the quran has things that can be proven to people who dont even believe in the quraan in the first place. We show that the quran truly is the word of god by proving that these facts could only be known by a creator not man.
Sahal thank you for your reply. Although I’m not sure you understand my question/comment which was for Dr. Zakir Naik (PBUH). He claimed to have scientifically proven the existence of God... He did not. He couldn’t. Quoting an ancient text is not providing a scientific proof and his interpretations even less. Many have try to prove the existence of God and all of them failed miserably. He wasn’t the first to try and he certainly wouldn’t be the last. I’m glad he failed just like everyone else because if this becomes a matter of scientific knowledge and not of belief than it would drastically undermine the most beautiful aspect of any religion « Faith! » or Imaan as you would call it. Thank you.

If these are the best arguments for the existence of god then i don't know what went wrong. Ancient greeks 1000 years before islam came already thougt that every living thing came from water. Are they messengers of god? No. Did they just look at nature and use common sense? Awnser for yourself...

How about the following explanation:
Atheists believe that the universe began with The Big Bang. The question is what was there in that space and the time before The Big Bang? If there is an exlpanation, the question of what was before that again appears. The human mind will never stop repeating this question. This question is finally answered when one accepts a Creator who created that time and space.
The atheist may ask the same question "what was before the Creator?". The answer is that Time and Space itself are creations of the Creator so there was no time and no space before they were created by the Creator. Today's science proves that time is a variable which theoretically becomes zero if something travels with the speed of light so time is proved to be a Creation.
The concepts of eternity and infinity can not be understood by human brains because our capacity to understand is limited to the limits of our brains. An unlimited thing can not be contained in a limited thing.

When people talk about reconciling science and religion, that is only an issue with people who have preconceived ideas, but scientists cannot/should-not have preconceived ideas they must believe the evidence.
