Heartbreaking to listen to Remy and Orsillo. Tears in my eyes for a time gone by. Where did time go? Why so fast? Why so unfair? Rest In Peace, Jerry Remy. So terribly sad.
@@jakehughes2369 Nah, Dave has the tendency to be a little boring, but all in all he’s got a nice voice and is definitely exciting at times. Really miss Orsillo though
As a Mets fan spoiled by Ron Keith and Gary, these two come pretty close to them. Discovered this through a MLB Fan’s compilation and the “Here Comes The Pizza !” incident
8:34 Don cracking up laughing but still calling the game is always my favorite. Him trying to say “Nick Markakis takes strike 1” after the boob grab in the stands might be the funniest thing I’ve ever heard 🤣
I will miss these two together *SO* f'cking much. I love them both. Like an old married couple sometimes ;D. (like the new light) I know some people bitched about their banter..but I loved it. It's baseball..we love our boys..we love our teams..but half the time games last 4hrs+/mean nothing and are boring as shit..but we love it (and they made it all the more enjoyable because bs'in aside..they loved it too) Will miss you here in Boston Don. All the great moments for the Red Sox in my lifetime are relived with your voice in my head.
They did a contest years ago where if someone hit a home run on the 100th pitch of the game, someone would win a car, and they were supposed to keep track of the pitches so they could announce the winner if there was one, and one night, they were having so much fun, they totally forgot to keep track of the 100th pitch, they realized it like 3 or 4 pitches later and they couldn't hold it together for like 2 innings afterward, they couldn't stop cracking up about how they forgot to watch the pitch count. There was no home run or anything, but it was still freaking hilarious
I grew up in Central CT as a yankees fan watching for the yankees to win and check in to see if the sox we’re losing. Always loved Remy and Orsillo doing sox games even as a yankees fan. The humor and flare that makes New England great is fully represented in Jerry Remy. RIP to Rem Dog🙏🏾
Sorry to dispute your statement, but as a Red Sox fan I must say that the term the evil empire is only used when speaking about the Yankees (as they suck)!! Emily, you are so right about Don having the best laugh, as when he gets it going it makes you smile and then you end up laughing with him!!
I also watch the Padres games often (when the Red Sox games are over), just to see and hear our friend Don Orsillo, who is the BEST announcer in baseball!! By the way it’s not even close as Don is by far the BEST in the game!!
So many great Don moments of silliness that keep us entertained during games, from the ones in this video to the boob grab, the mouth to mouth conversation, when he lost his composure when Manny was petting Julian Tavarez, the long "man bag" analysis, the mustard theft incident, and when he couldn't stop laughing at the typo in the promo...too many to count really! On top of that he is a top class commentator and always knows the right thing to say, like when Daniel Nava hit that home run in the first game at Fenway after the marathon bombings and when the Red Sox won the division that year. He's been the best thing about the Red Sox in these last few seasons of misery and last place finishes and it is really a travesty that he is being let go because of a personal vendetta against him rather than anything he did wrong.
+BJMcB92 Joseph Maar & Tom Werner were responsible for the firing of Orsillo because they are nothing but glorified TV producers that do not know JACK SQUAT about baseball. Don Orsillo knows baseball more than those 2 clowns.
Sure miss that chemistry that Remy and Orsillo had. For the Padres fans - you got a good one! Wish I could find the mustard episode though; that was a true classic.
For true red Sox fans: it was Pedroier, not Pedroia It was Garciaparrer, not Garciaparra It was Xandah Boegats, not Xander Boegaerts. RIP Jerry Remy, we all lost our favorite voice in our lives 😭
These guys were so wonderful together, and they reminded fans that baseball is a game. It’s supposed to be fun. Too bad our ownership has gone fully corporate. This old charm is badly missed.
Love them!!! They were part of the reason I tunes in each night!!wish the broadcasters could take a lesson from them, these guys today talk about the good old days too much, does anyone really care to hear this on a daily basis? Its boring noise!!
I’m a Yankees fan but must say I miss listening to the two classy guys calling games , they knew their baseball but brought a human element to broadcasts they always gave you a good laugh at least once a game , RIP Jerry Remy and to think the Red Sox let Don Orsillo go for one of the most boring and stale announcers in Dave O’Brien tbh he sucks badly and kudos to Don Orsillo thriving with the Padres
Thank you for everything Remy, you’re a legend on the field, in the broadcast booth and in Boston. You made everyone feel like family and have been a foundational piece of the Red Sox my entire life ❤️
I grew up with Ned Martin and Bob Montgomery, never thinking that another pair could top them. Then Remy and Orsillo came along. So many great memories. Watching the game on TV with these guys was like actually being at the game with two old friends. RIP Rem Dawg.
I'll NEVER forgive John Henry and the organization for letting go of Don. NEVER.
Whoever was behind the decision to remove Don from the booth, should be fired.
He should get a raise, San Diego loves him and mud
Absolutely!! Don was the BEST!
Give us back our Don !
Woke NESN
Lost for words. Remy was family. Miss you already 💔
My heart is 💔
Completely 😞
Sad day. He was a gem
So sad.
Even Yankees miss him!
Honestly tho this was the best commentary duo of all time

Agreed
Don...the real Italian Stallion...now they have an Irish robot announcing...
I wonder if Don still uses the lamp that Jerry bought him
So incredibly heart broken over Jerry. RIP RemDawg
This makes me wanna cry. Why would the Red Sox ever let Don go. It makes no sense. The Red Sox will never be the same to me.
Dave's not bad, I like Dave.

Don and jerry were the best broadcasters in the game. They were great together. The NESN bigwig who fired don should be tarred and feathered!!!!
These guys really made the game fun to watch,OBrian makes it painfull to watch to point of using the mute button !
Orsillo got so excited about the lamp and then immediately annoyed that it's too big for his desk. Hysterical.
When Judge Judy visited the booth and walked off with the donut holes. Pissed my self. Loved those two. Calm seas and fair wind Remdawg.
