Love the last half; it was like a silent movie 😂
For context, Ray said it would be easy to pay the bills so Debra let him handle it, he then had to get a second checkbook to cover up all the mistakes he made, and at the end its shown he also needed a third.

If Robert has to pay he rather move, if he move Marie will lose control over him. It is about Marie, not about money.
Since Ray & Debra live in Lynbroook on Long Island, I'm assuming they would use a bank in their town. Yet the lady Ray cut in front of returns with Robert, a NEW YORK CITY police officer; Lynbrook isn't part of New York City!
Richard Romano, Ray's brother, is the cop in the scene.
Is this her problem with her? She was too pretty for him? This is why she dislike her? :)

What's sad is in this episode he undermines debra taking care of the bills so she challenges him to do it if it's so easy. He then fails to pay the bills and keep it balance, makes a fake book so debra can't say I told you so and then threw her under the bus because he didnt want his parents to lecture him. He's the worst husband ever because then debra has to stay up all night fixing his mistake and figuring out what is real and what is fake in the book which in the 90s was so hard!

How can you dig 3000 dollar hole in your budget in 6 weeks ? Ray was not a gambler or drug addict or having second woman on a side.That was really careless spending , he did not count his expenses at all. He was lucky Debra took care of household bills all these years or he would be bankrupt and homeless in few months despite he earned pretty well.
