#MercedesBenz invented the luxury SUV segment back in 1997 with the original #MClass and since then, automakers have scrambled to develop their own interpretation. Now in its fourth-generation and with a new name, the 2020 #GLE450 introduces a lot of first for #Mercedes, it brings back a straight 6-cylinder engine, a 48 volt mild-hybrid system, a magic adjustable air suspension called E-Active Body Control, and the completely redone interior looks as if it was lifted straight from an S-Class. Just be prepared to pay a pretty penny for one of the most sophisticated SUV's on the market. #GLEClass #MercedesBenzGLE450

Why do people always complain about the price?
If you can't afford a loaded edition buy one with fewer options.
Mercedes Benz products have always been pricey and never been designed to sell for Hyundai prices.

I just went to the dealership to look at this, yesterday. Was underwhelmed.
The 350 is a poor value. It's four cylinder has 40 less HP than a Lexus RX350 V6, but only get s the same EPA MPG. And the dealership has poor salesmen who don't know how to sell a car. Very lazy, almost smug
People may walk in and just buy the brand, but that doesn't mean you don't have to be a professional salesman.

The 350 is a terrible choice. I had it for a week. It struggles to pull such a giant car and i could hear the engine working very hard to get it going...Imagine this suv would not be a good idea to own long term. The 450 is much better for power, but it's way too expensive. Also, all the gadgets are kinda distracting. I will stick with GLE, i like the looks better anyways and i get a V6 that didn't cost 80-90k

NLG1, the Q7 plastic on the lower door is pretty average for the class. It’s not hard touch, nor soft touch. When you scratch the plastic, it doesn’t have that cheap sound like the GLE. However, if you want the best materials throughout, BMW wins hands down.

Great review! This GLE raises the bar in this highly competitive segment of the SUV market. I like the simple rounded lines of the exterior, though not as round as the Porsche Cayenne, it looks more elegant than the multi-angled body lines of the other competitors. The interior is truly impressive with so much luxury, technology and adjustability features. This model lives up to the Mercedes Benz motto of “The best or nothing.”

The look is okay.........The price WAY too much...........Of course for most German cars Do NOT buy definitely lease. Undoubtedly the repair bills will be more astronomical than the initial price. You can probably wait until 2023 when the leases for these are up and buy one for around $35,000 keeping in mind that the major repair costs will just be getting started.

Looks even better in dark red or dark grey. Matter of opinion, but a darker tone won´t contrast the black wheel arches that much. Also the previous ML from 2012 or so was already quite big, this one is even longer and wider. Obviously the main market for GLE is North America and China, because big SUV´s are not very popular in Europe.

Beauty is distracting. I have an e-class with the same screen on the right. The navigation and carplay look amazing. My kids and friends always talk about it. The problem is you get used to it and expect it in all other cars I'm in. Mercedes had these screens in 2016 and BMW is just putting 12 inch screens in their new X5s. New A6/A7 have this size screen now. Tesla always had huge screens. I think it will be the new normal.

Yes I agree with lease only . I love the technology and safety of eactive body control . Sounds like it’s worth the 8,000 because suvs tend to roll but slowing down is a lot cheaper . But the ride quality is probably affected a lot to Eli justify the price. I like it but I think the g,s 450 is bigger for me , this seems tight and compact . Thanks for the review . As always you are straight to the freaking point and honest .

    • @newlifegroupinc

NLG1, the plastic Audi uses is acceptable for the class. It doesn’t have the cheap feel that the GLE has. However, if you want the best materials in this class, the X5 wins hands down.

This car is hilariously and needlessly complicated. A suspension that pushes the car in the opposite direction of the turn by manipulating each individual wheel?
I love technology, but some things are just unnecessary. This is the reason why MB is unreliable. It’s not a matter of IF that suspension will break, it’s a matter of when and how much. The money they spent developing that suspension, they could have developed simple 2 mode ajustable suspension with two well worked out and supple settings. But no. We get a low rider.

have always had one question in regards to all these vehicles that have these touch screens nowdays, know that after time, that when you use your fingers to use the touchscreens, the display can get quite messy with fingerprints, but know to take care of that you can just get a bottle of that screen cleaning spray to clean off all of the fingerprints, but the main question I have is, on these which would you say is easier to use on these touch screens, your actual fingers, or one of those stylus pens like whhat alot of people use on either thier smartphones or tablets, probably the stylus's would probably be alot less messy on the vehicle's touchscreens I bet.......
