I am disappointed there's no CD only set and I do agree that the MTV Unplugged set should have been released on here, but I feel that it is good to get all these mixes in a collected set, especially for American fans, like me, who didn't get stuff like Upper or some single releases in the states. The set is a bit too expensive, most likely due to including both vinyl and CD, so I'm sticking to the digital version for now, and maybe pick up the album on vinyl, since I personally don't like the tracklist of the Japanese 2 CD set.

I have the Summer Mix. It’s on the Fastlove Remix CD. I was just searching for all my George Michael CD’s and I found Fastlove. I’ll have to play it. 😊😊

I can't help but wonder if the slower version of "Fast Love", which you said George had considered releasing as a single, is actually the "Summer Mix"? It was released on a maxi-single in 1996 and is definitely slower than the album version.
@TVR25 A slower version of Fast Love would not make sense, if I may add. To experience that kind of feeling, maybe you could just listen to Slow Love by Prince ;)
One reason I’ve stopped buying new vinyl. I’m fed up with the 2 record sets of a single album, I don’t want to keep getting up to change sides. Also a lot of the newer pressings jump. Not good quality. Also the 180 gram heavy vinyl means it rips easily the inner sleeves.
Um... no... just no... the whole point of it being released as it is, is because fans of George back in the day appreciate a physical format rather than just pressing a finger on a phone and owning it.
Considering there are Atmos versions on iTunes, it would have been nice if those tracks were included as a download considering the cost of the set and lack of any real surprises. As it stands there is nothing in this set I don’t already have and could not justify the cost on this. The Prince estate did it right, the original album plus unreleased tracks from the same time frame. It felt both respectful of Prince and the fans. GM’s estate should think about that because once they do, I will happily open my wallet.

George was involved in both the Faith & LWP reissues and those did not have unreleased music. I doubt this reissue would be much different if he was around.
@@tm0190 yeah I totally agree, I guess I meant “unfinished” not unreleased music. George kept music in the vault for decades. This boxset (as the original poster mentioned) had some aspects to it that just didn’t feel right. One of the very first Twitter promos for this reissue had “Odler” on it. They removed it swiftly. But I kind of knew from then that things might be different. I just couldn’t see something like that getting past George. Sad really 🥺
I am noticing a move away from CDs. The 30th anniversary edition of Soul Asylum's Grave Dancers Union is vinyl and digital only. I was looking forward to a nice digipack edition.
Now that many recent Super Deluxe sets no longer contain a surround mix or at least a high resolution stereo mix I'm simply not as interested at these price points. Pity, we were getting some great pkgs with the Beatles in particular. It still boggles my mind they created a surround mix for Revolver but chose not to include it.
His official website was very confusing because, I didn’t know what LP’s were 180 gram. I was going to get the red and black LP’s which would be 4 LP’s but I think they’re standard weight vinyl and a cassette 😢. So I don’t buy a boxset.

Having the MTV session on here would have had me sold, but i ant paying that amount a money for, what amounts to a glorified pamphlet, which is ultimately the only thing,-- over and above what i have -- which i might have found .... Shame when record companies need to tell fibs to potential purchasers.... I have the original Older/Upper on CD, and one thing that did make it (a bit) special is the gold cd's that it contained. They have a reputation for decaying over time, and checking my Older disk the gold has worn away from the edge quite significantly, so much so that I didn't expect it to play anymore! I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did. But for how much longer I don't know...
I feel very lucky to have the boxset, however the content on offer is really dissapointing. There is absolutely nothing new or unreleased on offer here, all of the content has already been released in past releases and is now reissued again for this boxset the presentation of the boxset is top notch though .The only exclusive is the upper album version now on vinyl..there is no early demos no *new* unreleased tracks, no live concerts whatsoever, but that is down to Georges estate again refusing to release anything from Georges vault. Truly that is not fair on his fans who actually made him.the.superstar he was, I just think with the Older reissue boxset is a massive missed opportunity.
How could anyone support the record company after how they treat the artist. True fans of this artist know what I mean and don't buy anything released after Faith.

There is nothing special about this. I just always wanted this on vinyl. I despise CDs. The deluxe is ridiculously expensive for it not having anything new that wasn't released in the past.

I bought the same version. The Amazon exclusive white vinyl. Hats off to Sony because it sounds terrific.

yup, actually Fast Love was intended to be titled as “Revelation” having the summer mix as the original mix but then George decided to change it
