    Is it realistic for me to be able to train for the PRT around July? I've not been physically active for around 3 years, I've been training pretty much every day since the 20th of March, I'm around 5'7-5'8 and ~190 lbs. I really wanna grind every day and hope I complete it. I changed my entire mentality, my diet, and daily routine just to be a hell of a lot healthier after struggling with severe depression/anxiety for years.

      Depends on your schedule and overall goal. Workout is a good way to ease depression and anxiety. It’s a lifestyle and positive decisions into oneself and health

    Where can I find a chart that tells me how many calories I need to burn in the 12 minute bike? I’m an 18 y/o female.

      On Google, type on navy PRT standards for women age 18.

    Hello, so just to be clear they offer an alternative to the run now? I can do the 500 meter swim instead of the run? Is the swim timed? I'm 31. I leave September 6th and have been working out everyday to get ready but I'm struggling with my run time and literally have days left before I leave.

      Hey! Yes in bootcamp it’s the run, they will help you get to the finish line. Just don’t quit. Practice ur running- with sprints and running. You only do swim qaul in bootcamp, for you PRT is running for everyone

      Thank you so much for the prompt response! I definitely won't give up. I've been making progress everyday. I've been able to get my time for the 1.5 m to 20:35 seconds. I know that's not the time I need to graduate or even be able to stay at boot camp but I've been able to do that in like a week vs being able to only run .5 mile about 2 weeks ago. I haven't ran in over 10 years but I know I can do this! By the time I graduate I have to be at 16:15 minimum for my age so I just have to keep working as hard as possible. Thanks for the advice! If you think of anything else that may help me in such a short time please feel free to share.

      @@kyorijack sure. Also, you have to know you’ll have tons of time to workout in bootcamp and you will make ur goal. The recruit division commanders will get you there. There is no distractions, tv, or junk food so you’ll hit that time. Remember small victories lead to large success

    • @kyorijack

      One last question haha. You wouldn't happen to know who I could contact to see if a medication is banned or would disqualify me at bootcamp would you? I was prescribed Phentermine after I swore in and my recruiter doesn't know if I can take it at all or take it to bootcamp. I didn't want to get in trouble for it so I'm trying to find out directly from Great Lakes or someone who is up to date on regulations on recruits.

    • @evanjohnson4133
      @evanjohnson4133  2 года назад +4

      I do, first how often are your working out/training? When is your PRT? I’d recommend doing a mock 1.5 mile run first and having a baseline. Than interval training and doing 200m and 400m drills

      Yes. Great question: you control the speed and level. It’s important to know your numbers: for age group and the goal is to burn as many cals as possible
