Tommrow, ill put all my sets together and tell you my top set, why,my best back up set why, best bang for the buck, best road pak, ones to stay away from, tune in you won't want to miss!!
Thank you for the great ratchet wrench series! Would love to see a series on Bit Driver's...ICON vs GearWrench vs Craftsman vs Husky... ect, ect. I've seen some nice kits out there lately, and I'm curious how they stack up to each other. "Let's Take a Gander!"😊
So, between all these reviewed sets, what is your recommendations? Best for daily use Best as a low use backup set Best bang for the buck Best quality Overall winner
I enjoyed your series of ratchet wrench reviews. The old set of Blackhawks has larger fonts than the new. At least Blackhawk still stamps the wrenches rather than using laser etching. I would still consider purchasing the Taiwanese produced Blackhawk wrenches. I am definitely looking forward to a series on long double box end wrenches. I prefer box ends in high torque situations. I rarely use open ends and only when I have to.
Yea the new ones are a good deal, thier still better than alot of other brands!! double box long pattern are the wrenches i use alot!!! love the leverage and reach!!! im always grapping them on suspension work, stay tuned!!
I really enjoyed the entire ratchet wrench series. It was interesting seeing the similarities and differences between all of the brands. Good stuff. I look forward to the next one.
Thanks my friend, tommorow im doing a video ob all 10 sets together, whats my #1, my best back up,best bang for the buck, best road pak!! and ones i dont like!! stay tuned!!
Hi george no problem,i love doing it,and you guys have been great supporting channel!! some of the tools i keep, some ill give away, some i send back,to amazon and get my money back!!
They’re all made in Taiwan. The difference was the factory in which they were manufactured. If they don’t have a country of origin, they were made in Taiwan. The tools that have the PATs, were made with higher attention to quality and design. Stanley, decided to save money, that tanked the brand. The Blackhawk tools that are made in the US, are just Proto.
hi don, thier a must have ratchet wrench as well!! i use flex head almost as much as my regular ones!! i will do a series on them as well, in the near future!! hope you guys like my series videos!!
I still have the SAE set, mine came in the red tray but no box. I think my old Matco guy was hiding the fact that he’d bought a bunch of Blackhawk Wrenches from Matco
My main set is older black hawk, thier better fit on fastner then new taiwan black hawks!! but if i was buying new i go with icon!! there long pattern as well which i think is a plus!!
The bigger, thicker head on the latest set was probably for strength so it doesn't break due to inferior steel.... It's a shame that the quality keeps going down, yet the price keeps going up!! No matter where it's made from.
I believe both sets use ratcheting mechanisms from Taiwan but the body from the older set is forged in the US. The same thing with their early 2000 ratchets. US Steel but Taiwanese mechanisms. Hence sockets being marked made in USA but no markings on the ratchet. Still great tools though.
@@Donniedangerouslyinteresting that would make a lot of sense if that was the case! Iv been wondering about his original set since he’s shown them but just haven’t done the research. Not that I need to source an original set or anything I just think it’s interesting and would make sense why it wouldn’t be stamped USA.
Hi donnie thanks for info,i was never sure about the old ones, because they had no usa stamping, but are different then the new taiwan set!! todays world you never know whats what, parts here and everywhere!! stay tuned!!
Hi rob, thier nice set, thats a great price as well!! the older blackhawks are better fit, but you know thier old !! and thier were $250 ,15 years ago!! for the price of the new ones, you cant go wrong!!ill give you some advice, dont wait to long to buy them, thier getting harder to find, and most of the time amazon doesnt have them! ebay the only place i see them, maybe proto website! thanks my friend for your input!!
I've got the Blackhawk stubby sets in the cases like that.. brand new still... I don't use em...i paid ~$350 for both sets I wouldn't say the Taiwan Blackhawk is inferior..they still seem to be good quality..👍
You got the stubby sets, nice!! no im not saying the new ones are junk, they still are damn nice,i just wanted to show the difference, from old ones!! the fit on fastner on the new ones is little bit looser!! they still have nice ratcheting box, and finish and feel like old ones!! and they are $100 cheaper then my old black hawks!! they are going to be given away, along with 4 more nice tools, when i hit 1000 subs,if i do lol!!
I dont blame you, check out my sk ,x-frame ratchet wrench video, they claimed made in usa,two in the set were made in china, i was very upset with that purchase,i paid top $,for china mixed in!! i kept them because i got a hefty credit!!!!!
I was never sure where my old ones were made, but they were $250 15 years ago, so i always thought usa!! the new ones are nice for the price!! i always loved my old black hawks!! my #1 set that i use all tge time!! thanks for joining in!
What would make you say they are usa made if it's not stamped on the wrenches the only tool I have seen not stamped is the olsa ratchet and that is due to Canadian made in laws
I was told cant remember who, that the iternels were made here but the steel the rest of the wrench was made in taiwan!! the stampings on the outside have patent # you dont see on the ones made today in taiwan!! they are slighty different looking, the reverse lever and color of the steel!!
You can tell by the 19mm etch just like the Snapon style ETCG and that shows you the quality in 🇺🇸 made wrenchs compared to the now made ones which are crap 🇹🇼 Taiwan which is still better than 🇨🇳 made but still no USA made.
Yea the old ones usa are nice, no doubt!! i had them for long time, thier scratched up pretty good and well used!! i never had a problem with them!! thanks for joining in!!
Tommrow, ill put all my sets together and tell you my top set, why,my best back up set why, best bang for the buck, best road pak, ones to stay away from, tune in you won't want to miss!!
I have one of those... a 12mm, it's the only ratchet wrench I have. But, really nice sets. Thanks for the video.
Hi bigc i think you need a set, stay tuned!!

Hi george no problem,i love doing it,and you guys have been great supporting channel!! some of the tools i keep, some ill give away, some i send back,to amazon and get my money back!!

Good info to pass along to the tool community, much appreciated!!
Jeff, what's your opinion on the flex ones?
hi don, thier a must have ratchet wrench as well!! i use flex head almost as much as my regular ones!! i will do a series on them as well, in the near future!! hope you guys like my series videos!!
I still have the SAE set, mine came in the red tray but no box. I think my old Matco guy was hiding the fact that he’d bought a bunch of Blackhawk Wrenches from Matco
Hi frosty, they are nice wrenches, i think some people really didnt know how good they really were!! not suprised you own them!! thanks my friend!!
Great video, Thanks for sharing! what would you recommend, The black hawk, Wright, or the Icon?
My main set is older black hawk, thier better fit on fastner then new taiwan black hawks!! but if i was buying new i go with icon!! there long pattern as well which i think is a plus!!
The bigger, thicker head on the latest set was probably for strength so it doesn't break due to inferior steel.... It's a shame that the quality keeps going down, yet the price keeps going up!! No matter where it's made from.
Yea that what i think, thicker to make up weaker steel!! those new black hawks are nice for the price!! i paid $100 more 15 years ago for my old set!!

You compared the 17 mil to 18 mil
Those new blackhawks are the exact same as my dewalts but probably way more expensive
I have to take a look at the dewalts, the black hawks in taiwan were $145,thanks for jumping in!!
the USA ones kinda look like the Icon ones from Harbor Freight... could just be be thow....
Yea they do,icon are long pattern which i really like!! Starting long double box series next, non ratcheting!! Stay tuned!!
The new Taiwanese made Blackhawk don't look so bad. $145 on Amazon so I added them to my cart.

Love these Blackhawks
Those are my favorite ratchet wrenches, thanks for joining in and sharing your thoughts on them my friend!!!
I absolutely will not buy a claimed USA tool if USA is not forged on it. Period!
I dont blame you, check out my sk ,x-frame ratchet wrench video, they claimed made in usa,two in the set were made in china, i was very upset with that purchase,i paid top $,for china mixed in!! i kept them because i got a hefty credit!!!!!
the old one is made usa lol, $145 for new set not bad
I was never sure where my old ones were made, but they were $250 15 years ago, so i always thought usa!! the new ones are nice for the price!! i always loved my old black hawks!! my #1 set that i use all tge time!! thanks for joining in!
Im such a fan of blackhawk tools usa or not i have a stubby ratcheting set from then they been thru hell and are still great
Hi nick i am also a fan of blackhawk tools!! i love there ratchet wrenches!! thanks for joining in!!
I have one 18 mm Blackhawk made in USA and my Craftsman set is missing a 18 n work with wat u got right
Yes,i think youll have no problems!!
What would make you say they are usa made if it's not stamped on the wrenches the only tool I have seen not stamped is the olsa ratchet and that is due to Canadian made in laws
