im glad they took their time onstage and im very happy with how it played out. i was worried people were going to call them unprofessional (which is ridiculous considering their first language is korean) but im so happy people didn't. not only did they get to showcase their thanks, but their personal selves and personality. they deserved that win and more.

As an army who saw them win their first music show award, their first Korean daesang and now their first American daesang, I can honestly tell that all of this didn't happen just because, BTS earned it and this right here is rightfully deserved with even more. What an honor to be an ARMY. What an honor to have BTS as my artists.
there's a compilation of Jungkook out there of him avoiding Namjoon at Korean award shows so he wouldn't speak in the mic but here he was RACING for his turn to talk, in a foreign country and giving the speech in English at that. THAT is character development 😭💜

What hit me the most when I saw this was actually the moment when Suga and RM hugged each other first after the announcement. Both of them were the first two members to join BTS, they have been together for the longest, have gone through a lot and therefore understand each other the most. Making unimaginable history and success after a decade worth of hard work, I can only imagine the undescribable feelings that they must've had. It's just so special and really heartwarming.

They're so humble and that's mainly why they're so successful. They went from approaching people on the streets asking them to attend their free concerts to being global stars but still managed to remain humble. Only one speaks fluent English. And the rest still try though stuggling to express it, I can really see how far they reached from their humble beginnings. And even as they accept the award, you can really feel how grateful they are. They are so succesful I wish they never change how they make their music

this is the first time in 4 years i’ve seen them be visibly nervous/don’t know what to say during an awards speech. no matter how shocked they were they always managed to hold it together enough to give a speech but both rm and jungkook had to pause multiple times to get their thoughts together and calm down. it goes to show you how much this award truly meant to them
I noticed that too. I was actually surprised with how surprised they were. I was surprsied with how RM was flustered during his speech and that JK did his whole speech in english. I'm glad they still have this feeling of shock when they win.

I’m not a BTS fan (did not get the chance to check them out) but I’m certain their music is tonnes better than some of those nominees. ‘Butter’ was definitely the record of the year! Most of us enjoyed it and we heard it everywhere. By now we should all know the Grammys work on bribery and they struggle to acknowledge international artists. They need to fix their diversity issue firstly and be more transparent!

I remember that time when I was a baby army still learning their names and in my recommendations I got a video that was talking about their story and all the hardships they’ve been through, and I watched it and ended up crying because I never really thought that that famous band called BTS I’ve heard about has gone through a lot since the beginning. I got so moved by how inspiring not only their songs are, but also their story as a group is, and even as individuals. I wish that people who only criticize them without really knowing the long path they had to walk to get to where they are now, would only take some time to really get to know their back story and how they went from being boys without hope, to becoming the hope of millions of people💜 They deserve all this and more.

very true! though their songs may not be in english the fandom has very dedicated fans all over the world that translate all their music, tweets, etc in order to help those who don’t understand korean which just brings us closer to them. there is lots of talent out in the world, even if they may not understand the language, a person just has to be open minded to enjoy it 😊

Their music, whether it be in Korean, English or Japanese have very deep meaning, that tackles important issues such as mental health, loving yourself, facing your ego, breaking stereotypes etc. Every album is connected by a storyline. Each of them is very much involved in the process of creating their music, and is mostly driven by what they go through personally. This is the reason why their fan base is wide; cause anyone can relate to it. Plus, it doesn't hurt that they have goofy personalities, humble kings, generous and of course, drop dead gorgeous!
“This whole thing is a miracle” is where I just completely lost it. They got here through nothing but absolute dedication, perseverance, and love for music, but every single day, I think their existence and impact is just a miracle. What hit me the most when I saw this was actually the moment when Suga and RM hugged each other first after the announcement. Both of them were the first two members to join BTS, they have been together for the longest, have gone through a lot and therefore understand each other the most. Making unimaginable history and success after a decade worth of hard work, I can only imagine the undescribable feelings that they must've had. It's just so special and really heartwarming.

this is the first time in 4 years i’ve seen them be visibly nervous/don’t know what to say during an awards speech. no matter how shocked they were they always managed to hold it together enough to give a speech but both rm and jungkook had to pause multiple times to get their thoughts together and calm down. it goes to show you how much this award truly meant to them

I noticed that too. I was actually surprised with how surprised they were. I was surprsied with how RM was flustered during his speech and that JK did his whole speech in english. I'm glad they still have this feeling of shock when they win.

@@cameronbrunet6485 the thing is, whether or not they’re nominated for grammys has nothing to do with their abilities. Yummy and Peaches and other awful songs get nominated/win every year. I’m not a BTS fan (did not get the chance to check them out) but I’m certain their music is tonnes better than some of those nominees. ‘Butter’ was definitely the record of the year! Most of us enjoyed it and we heard it everywhere. By now we should all know the Grammys work on bribery and they struggle to acknowledge international artists. They need to fix their diversity issue firstly and be more transparent!

It's unfortunate that the grammys are possibly too lazy or unbothered about Korean music. They acknowledged BTS' English songs both years. Their Korean music are masterpieces but get overlooked by the academy. Maybe if BTS send gift baskets to the committee then they will get their wins and nominations ;)

This award really hits a lot when you know their story and everything they’ve been through to get to where they are now. They went from handing flyers in the street telling people “please come to our concert” with the little knowledge of English they had, to winning Artist of the Year at the AMAs. I remember that time when I was a baby army still learning their names and in my recommendations I got a video that was talking about their story and all the hardships they’ve been through, and I watched it and ended up crying because I never really thought that that famous band called BTS I’ve heard about has gone through a lot since the beginning. I got so moved by how inspiring not only their songs are, but also their story as a group is, and even as individuals. I wish that people who only criticize them without really knowing the long path they had to walk to get to where they are now, would only take some time to really get to know their back story and how they went from being boys without hope, to becoming the hope of millions of people💜 They deserve all this and more.
Yes! I agree. They are making much needed changes in the music industry and so many people are being haters. I personally love myself so much more because of them. I am happier because of them. I went from a random music video on my Playlist (Dope) to just wanting to "know their names" to a full time ARMY.

Their music, whether it be in Korean, English or Japanese have very deep meaning, that tackles important issues such as mental health, loving yourself, facing your ego, breaking stereotypes etc. Every album is connected by a storyline. Each of them is very much involved in the process of creating their music, and is mostly driven by what they go through personally. This is the reason why their fan base is wide; cause anyone can relate to it. Plus, it doesn't hurt that they have goofy personalities, humble kings, generous and of course, drop dead gorgeous!
