Since this video was released, Sims has changed how foundations work. You now have to click on the floor of any room, and an arrow will appear in the middle of the floor. By dragging it up or down you can add or delete a foundation! Sorry I couldn't show it to you guys

Really? Come on guys, you don't want your Sims living in boxes! lol I built the same way for a long time! But you can build better houses if you try. It's not as hard as it seems. I'm no expert but I don't make boxes anymore so I know you can get better too! What she did in this video was make a box with little pop outs all around. That might be the easiest way to go. The way she did it isn't quite my style but I think it's the roofs that bothered me. If you want someone else's opinion on how to build and roof houses in the Sims, check out The Sim Supply. He shows the other way of building that this video mentioned in the beginning where you build a main section of the house which would be a box and you kind of build off of it. You do the roofing the same way. Check out Deligracy too. It's just good to get different opinions and they point out things this video did not. Sim Supply has great build tutorials on different parts of building, landscaping and doing floor plans among other things. And no I don't have anything to do with either of the channels I suggested. lol

@@softpixels8145 the game has updated since then, so instead of a slider in that spot to adjust the height of it, it has an arrow on the game screen like for the roofs and stuff that you can move up to make it taller. You should check out her newer house video, I think it might show that (can't remember sorry) I'm not the best at explaining but hopefully I could help!
Simeow || I hope you find my reply helpful as im not an expert but i would say my furnishings are *decent*. A very easy way to start is to start with smaller rooms. I usually connect the kitchen and the livingroom but the kitchen is around 4 squares away. So i dont like big bedrooms so i would usually start with that. I always place a king bed in the middle and move it a bit closer to the door of the bedroom. If i have space i put a dresser at the end of the bed using free placement. I add 2 little coffe tables on thesides of the bed and on one of them i like to have a lamp and a small alarm clock and on the other i would usually put a small plant. I add a wardrobe as far away from the door as possible and try to add a desk on which i put a computer. I also like any of the book decorations on the desk. If its a childs room i put a teddybear on the bed as well using the bb.moveobjects on cheat. Also every single room should have one color scheme. If its a girls room i like light pink and beige or white. In the bathroom i put a bath in which you can shower as well in the corner that is as far away from the door as possible. If the bathrrom is small i place a toilet right next to it. Then i place the sink in the corner as close to the door as possible. Also, i like to add a counter to the bathroom and place plants or some other decorations on it. For the livingroom i just place the tv against a wall and add a couch around 2 squares away. Even if the tv can be placed om the wall without any support i would still place a table to add a gaming console or plants or smallartworks to decorate the place. I like to add a coffee table half a square away from the couch. Sims can still use the couch. And place a plant in the middle. I pretty much consider that a diningroom as well but if you want to have an actual one i just place a bar and some stools because it looks different and makes you feel cooooooooooool. Nami Nation I know this is late but if you are still struggling then if you are playing on computer, wher you go from live mode to build mode. There are two arrows press the down arrow to show the downstairs and the up arrow for the upstairs. If your on PS4 or something then use the arrow buttons and same thing, up arrow and down arrow for upstairs and downstairs.

You just go up like where u would put the roof if u had a one story house and there will be a flat surface and you just build or copy and paste onto that

You use the arrows on the left side of the controller. Sorry I don't know what their called but if you use the up arrow you will go to the 2nd floor and then you add walls or whatever you want to do. Down arrow is to go to the basement or if your at the 2nd floor then to the first floor. I hope this helps

Amanda Mason I figured it out!! You press the pg up button after you’re done the first floor.. or if you don’t have that then you press the up button on the top right hand on the screen (only works if you are building it, not re designing a pre made home)

Thanks for this video. I started sims 4 recently and i was dissapointed to discover that when you start a new game... theres no premade houses. You literally have to do private tutorials outside of the game and learning to build a house just to start playing, its a real pain in the butt... So this helps

It helps a lot to build on smaller lots as well if your issue is houses being too big.

You use the arrows on the left side of the controller. Sorry I don't know what their called but if you use the up arrow you will go to the 2nd floor and then you add walls or whatever you want to do. Down arrow is to go to the basement or if your at the 2nd floor then to the first floor. I hope this helps

when you're building theres an arrow in the middle of the floor, just drag it up and you can make it as high as you want

Finally a person who actually tells you and shows you how to do it, I spent 2 hours finding tutorials, all I got was “build a roof, build a house” not really helping me.

Amanda Mason I figured it out!! You press the pg up button after you’re done the first floor.. or if you don’t have that then you press the up button on the top right hand on the screen (only works if you are building it, not re designing a pre made home)

Thanks for this video. I started sims 4 recently and i was dissapointed to discover that when you start a new game... theres no premade houses. You literally have to do private tutorials outside of the game and learning to build a house just to start playing, its a real pain in the butt... So this helps
