Hey there Ed, Great video brother and everything you said was really super close or spot on. I'd like to reference the "popping" sound.. That noise is the filament extruder drive slipping on the filament. The most common reason is actually in the gcode. If the .stl or gcode if you will, Tells the extruder to feed filament faster than it can run through the hotend, It can happen mid-print as well. In fact you'll notice it mid-print more often than at the very start. All it means is the gcode is telling it to feed filament faster than the hotend is putting it out. But at the end of the day it won't hurt anything at all, In fact you need steady feed pressure from the extruder to the hotend to maintain a steady flow from the hotend. Often if you adjust the hotend / Nozzle temp 5, 10, 15 or 20 more degrees C on the hotend will cure that. You're doing great with 3D Printing and I happy to see you having fun with it.

Good luck Ed. I have been 3D printing for a couple of years now and you are right, it is fascinating. Rapidly though, you will find out what a great device for making and designing part and devices you might need and can not find elsewhere. I have two now a 300mm bed and a 200 mm bed. Enjoy.

3 questions. First, can we use PETG if we want to or is there a type of a filament that we have to use it on this 3d printer like the red one we got for example. Second, if the bed is really dirty and really smooth, do I have to buy a new bed for the 3d printer so is that the main issue is resolved for example like the model floating in the air while printing. Lastly, if the filament stops inserting from the nozzle part, is it the 3d printer issue or the filament issue. If 3d printer, can you give me a tip to fix it. So basically, the filament does not come out from the nozzle part, it just stops from there. Thank you if you answer this

Hi Ed, Great video! I’m fairly new to 3D’s but have the same unit and have designed several models thus far. I’m slicing with a Flash Print. I’m having a problem printing the bottom wall layers of a large rectangular box. The layers sag and end up looking sloppy. Once the walls are about a 1/4” high, they print much better. Is this a slicer setting or bed temperature issue? Any help is appreciated!

Unfortunately I didnt had a good experience with my flashforge adventurer 3 pro 2 ever from out of the box and only was able like print 2 or 3 very nice prints then it started malfunctioning. The filament feeder almost never pulled the string and i changed it to a new one and still continued having the same problem. So sad because it was a gift from my girlfriend.

Hi Ed, I found your video when I was trying to find a solution to the extruder 'popping'. The solution is really quite simple and was found on another video (link below). The standard steel gear doesn't tend to grip well and will slip. I have replaced the gear with a 40 tooth brass gear and have noticed an immediate improvement. I have owned one of these printers for about 3 years now, and have had some great results.
In regards to ABS, I gave up - unless you can find the perfect ABS filament without spending about 5x more, then the best way is PLA.
Here is the link I found.

I recently got this machine and I was able to print 4 successful prints with 0 issues. I recently have been having major problems. 1 when I start a print it says “filament error” and stops the machine while there is nothing wrong with the filament or any type of clog as the print is coming out perfect. And 2 the printer will print smoothly for literally about half the build and then it will stop extruding. So as you can imagine I need help please!

Great starting video. Just got the A3 yesterday. But still didn't know when to stop feeding the filament. I pushed it all the way to the extruder and after printing the box, I couldn't get it off (had to take an surgical knife to it (only thing I had lying around).
