  • Hey everyone and welcome to Groove Builders!
It’s a new year and what better way to start it off than building a model voted on by you, The USS midway from the Metal Earth premium series! The team over at Metal Earth have taken the retired USS Midway and turned it into a highly detailed and crowed model capturing all the iconic looks of this famous tippy aircraft carrier. Because of that, this build has a TON of details for us to build (would you expect anything different) What are the smallest details? What are the tricky bits? And what tools do we need? These are all great questions, and we are going to get the answers. Let’s start with our first page!
Throughout this series, I'll be walking you through each step of the build process, offering tips and tricks along the way. Whether you're a seasoned model builder or a beginner, you'll find this series helpful in some way.
So grab your tools, and let's get building!
Make sure to stay tuned for our review, where we'll be completing this build and showing off the finished model while telling you everything you need to know about it. Don't forget to hit that subscribe button to stay up to date on all my latest building adventures.
Thanks for watching and until next time
    keep building!

I've built 7 kits so far and have 4 more on the way. I really enjoy building these metal kits but, I got to admit my 62 year old eyes demand I wear a magnifying headset. I however don't use gloves as I am not that picky about prints as I just use some alcohol to clean them. I don't keep them in a display case so they end up all dusty anyways.

Don’t use gloves. When finished I spray windex over the model. Let dry. Nice and shiny.

I always keep a 4 x 8 inch very thin refrigerator magnet on my hobby desk underneath my assembly/bending area to catch any stray/flying parts. It works really well and does not hinder my model making at all. My Wife is still trying to figure out where it went because it has a recipe she wanted to try on the other side. Try it, you'll like it, especially when cutting out multiple pieces.

Looking great so far, but I think it needs some Mr. Boba Minus One footage.

Next time you make a video like this you need to keep a true timer in the bottom corner like Mr Puzzle. You are cutting out the shity parts that makes these such a pain in the butt, getting those damn tabs in there and folding or twisting them.
No one wants to watch you fumble with a piece smaller than a grain of rice for ten minutes but people need to see how long it really takes.
Some of these steps seem almost impossible and you just cutting to "Look, it's done" might take the wind out of some peoples' sails. I think a lot of people watch these videos because they just want to know "How the hell did he do it?!".

There's going to be a billion dollar disaster when that F-14 catapults through those F-18s.
