    the craziest thing about this game is i had no idea this was the first game in a series of my favorite PS1 shooter ever. I had a strange feeling because of some of the enemy behaviors and the way the warships shot projectiles.... it all felt too familiar. then when i beat the game I almost teared up at the ending like HOLY SHIT when I saw R-Gray 1 take off from the carrier........ this game brought the Raystorm series full circle for me considering I played Raystorm first and now I know where it came from and how it all started.

    Beautifully played definitely a worthy game in the lineup of Shmups and a yet another amazing trilogy from Taito. Never got to play Rayforce, but Raystorm and Raycrisis were amazing times spent as a kid and once again Zuntata doesn't disappoint in their musical tracks though i prefer the sound tracks of Rayforce and Raystorm abit more.

    It is nostalgic, the home version of Ray crisis.In addition, voice actor Chinami Nishimura was in charge of the guide of CG art gallery.
    懐かしいですね、家庭版のレイクライシス。おまけにCGアートギャラリーの案内役は、声優の西村ちなみが担当していましたね。

    i remember having a blast of this game on the PS1, mastered it. great game! but i don't think i have those skills anymore now...

    The behaviour between evasions and lock-ons seems unnatural - the reaction time is applied right on the spot without hesitation or an earlier preparation.
    I'm ready to bet on my observation experience that this is tool-assisted.

    侵食率が何か理解出来んかったもんです。

      そこまで難しいかな?>侵食率
      敵逃しまくると侵食率が上がって100%になったらオシマイ(強制的にラスボス突入&バッドエンド確定)になっちゃうから
      侵食率が上がらないように敵をバキバキやっつけましょうというだけなんだけど…
      ちなみに侵食率が90%越えた時点で倒すと侵食が率大幅ダウンする敵が出てくるから
      意識してあげようとしない限りは100%になる事はまず無いんだけどね…

    I checked out how this game plays since I spotted it on play store and wow, i couldve went head over heels for raycrisis had I known about it as a 3 yr old

      The Android port is no longer being updated, sadly, and it lags like hell even on devices that should've been able to play it smoothly if you're using newer Android OS version. But for me, the Android port is the best port, it's based on the original Arcade version, so it has the better transition screens and result screens, and no transition screens before bosses.

    You can tell a real veteran shmup player from a poser, no wasted movement, every attack pattern memorized to the finest detail.

    What happens when the Encroachment percentage reaches 100%? Do you fight the Dis-human and Infinity prematurely?

      The con-human will find the virus, and the virus will be forced to fight the final anti body and cannot have a chance to destory the core system of con-human. In the end, human will fail and extinct.

      CarlWong510 Dis-human is the biggest antivirus program Con-human has, and the Infinity is Con-human's core.
      Now that I think about it, it makes sense. If the core knows you're there, symbolized by the 100% Encroachment, it'll boost its own defenses while distracting you with Dis-human so that you can't reach it, therefore letting its destructive reign continue unabated.

      100% encroachment will resulting the wrs to be directly connected with con-human's main antibody, Dis-Human which causes every single wave rider unable to find the core of con-human's system. Both bad and canon endings resulting operation Rayforce but following canonical ending of its prequel, the con-human's system and functional pretty darn decreased because of its absence of its own core (which on some wiki, even the strength of con-human greatly decreased, the A.I's still batcrap). I can't imagine how frightening full/ limitless potential of con-human's forces because imo it seems that bad ending shows even RVA-818 X-LAY equipped with proper cybernetics link system, have failed to destroy con-human.

    I own this one. Not so hard really. Hell the hardest thing about this game is the ost. It blows. I always played with the music off. This was around the time when SHMUPS was losing its way with an ass kicking soundbtracks. Not gonna lie, my heart was breaking when i noticed the changes in shmups approach to sound tracks. Now its all dance and techno.

      I love the fact that what set of music will be playing depends the first map (Map 02) that you chose. So you don't get the same music on every playthrough.

      +TimelordR This one never made it here on PS1, Raystorm did. I have a copy of this one in my collection, hoped it would've come out here on the PS1, sadly it never did. Nor did it make any Taito collections on the PS2 unlike the 2 games prior to it.
