Thanks for the analysis on Tenaga, FIRL. I'm not a shareholder but have been contemplating to add to my portfolio. Simple reason, good or bad days everyone still needs to use electricity. Now I have more angles to consider.
Yes there may be 6 IPPs but they can be viewed as outsourced work from TNB because eventually IPP need to sell back electricity to TNB. So TNB still holds the monopoly in the distribution of electricity to consumers in Malaysia.
Good video, but I was surprised you did not include the ‘MESI 2.0’ initiative that the government is currently working on. With this initiative, it is possible that it may threaten TNB’s monopoly status in the long run here in Malaysia
Hey MJ, I'm new here and I find your videos very educational. 😁👏👍In current climate I'm looking for something defensive, can you do a session on this company called Alaqar? Many thanks!
Hey MJ great video as always. I have did a little research on TNB's financial and discovered that their Free Cash Flow is on a negative, worse, the size of it had grew over 80% from 2014-2019. Is this something that shareholders should be concern about?
@@FIRLco what your say in TNB venture into fibre internet? now TM not the only one that have approval to install fibre infrastructure, TNB got too. and TNB's fibre plan is better than TM's. but now only cover KL and Melaka

Your channel is quite nice. Subscribed and hope to learn more new things from you
TY Jason!
I was thinking about buying this stock, but guess not now. The drop in cash flow, and increase in debt concerns me. Dropping it from my watch list.
But at least u will still pay electricity right?
Tenaga already start to diversified business example Internet via allo technology) , gsparx) renewable energy) and smart home through maevi

Hi WG, thanks!
gonna be completely honest here, we're not big fans of REITs, so it is unlikely we'll do a session on them.
Not much educational content in English for individual Malaysian stocks on RUclips. Cheers and thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it. More to come.
Pls talk about the FINTEC GLOBAL
Thank you
we'll consider. thanks for the suggestion
Hi guys, notice u guys always mention about profit before tax..How about profit after tax?? Which is more important??
Well u CAN do that. But PBT tells you about what the company can control, net profit includes tax, which is smth all companies can't control.

all depends on the reason for negative FCF. Is it because they are investing in profitable projects, or something else. Got to dig.

@@mohseinharon5807 will have to research more on this. But it will be hard for TNB to dominate the space.
Profits falling, net debt position, negative FCF.... how is it that they still can pay regular dividends?
Probably not. Or they can always borrow money haha
