I made the mocha version of this today. I was never a fan of Starbucks until I bought a bottle of the Mocha Frappuccino at the local grocery store. My budget could not support my addiction. SO….I searched on line and found your video. I added about a cup more milk, another 1/2 cup of sugar and about 1/2 cup of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. I can’t do whole milk so I used 2%. Honestly I can’t taste the difference between this and Starbucks. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!!

Great recipe, I made it and poured it into some Starbucks bottles I have been saving. I chilled them. Gave one to my wife she was shocked. She said it was just like or better than the original.

This recipe is sooooooo good!! I made it originally with instant coffee which was still DELICIOUS. But I saw a comment recommending to use starbucks' espresso. If anyone reading this can afford it in their budget I HIGHLY recommend making this with espresso! gives it such a bitter-sweet punch. I also prefer this recipe compared to the actual Starbucks ones that come in the glass jars

@@pattik3568 I use mostly Torani syrups when doing other then the mocha flavor one. I have used vanilla (flavoring) which looks like it's in a bottle like extract but it says flavoring. You don't want to use extract because that's more for baking and has alcohol content so wouldn't be good as a flavoring that you just more of. With Torani they have tons of flavors and even sugar free ones. I've made white chocolate, butterscotch, caramel, butter pecan, so many. The about you use depends on how strong you want the flavor but because they are made for drinks you can put as little or much as you want. I'd start with half cup and taste and go from there. 🎼oh thank you for replying 🎶 I’m actually in the middle of making it right now as we speak lol Cuz lol While I don’t drink coffee lol When I’ve been exhausted and busy bit needed to keep working I’ve occasionally picked up one And discovered I unfortunately LOVE the vanilla flavored one lol But I’m trying to make it for my daughter who does drink watered (milked lol) down coffee So she can grab it and take it with her on her way to work this week And have so far discovered that doubling up even more on the milk And yes lol Adding torani (is there any other kind😂🎉❤) Hazelnut syrup (the only kind she has lol) It’s absolutely perfect 💖 (N While at home (she lives in michigan and I’m visiting from SoCal lol) I use Torani’s French vanilla in just about EVERYTHING lol not 😉 The hazelnut is working nicely So keep your fingers crossed she likes it💕 Because unfortunately lol I’ve already had too much while sampling it to make it “Just right” lol (I’ll let you know🤞🙏🥳💖💖💖)
I tried the recipe tonight and it was excellent. It does taste like the real thing but Starbucks adds a thickener in their drink so it tastes just a tiny bit thicker. All in all I'd have to rate this copycat recipe very highly. I'm just wondering if a bit of evaporated milk might give it the original thickness. Thank You for cracking the recipe. My $3.49 bottle of Mocha Frappuccino now costs less than 70 cents and I encourage all of you to follow suit so you don't continue getting ripped of by greedy Starbucks.

Yes just leave out any flavoring for the plain version. You can use any caramel you like but keep in mind if you use one that is thick like for ice cream it doesn't mix up as well. I use Torani flavored syrups which are completely liquid and not thick like sauce. They have 100's of different flavors and even have sugar free. i have a question about your measurements. this calls for 5 cups of brewed or instant coffee. are they the 6 ounce cups which is what coffee makers call a "cup" or is it the standard 8 ounces of coffee? this applies to the measurement of milk. thanks.
just wanted to say thank you for this recipe. i lost count of how many copycat frappuccino recipes i have tried and none came close. using instant coffee cut the prep time down and i put it in a rinsed out plastic milk jug which makes storing it and shaking it up easy. so, again thanks.

I wouldn't use it hot. I only use semi hot water when doing instant in order to mix the granules well. If using regular coffee let it cool down. Thanks for watching
I put 6 small tblsps of instant coffee. The instant coffee instructions were 1 tsp per 8oz, but I bumped it up to make stronger. I didn't put that much the next time. It's all your preference of strongness. It calls for 5 cups of brewed coffee but I used instant that time. I also used cold brew coffee as well. Actually making some this morning. All my syrups I use are Torani. They have regular and sugar free versions. If you have a smart and final store they carry a lot of them. Amazon also has.
I don't drink espresso cause it's too strong for me, but you try any coffee you like. As long as it's the right amount listed. I'm sure that it will be a much stronger version of you are ok with that. Give it a try.

Then make larger quantities when I am more certain of the recipe. Another reason, what if you do not have a large quantity of items at home (like milk) and can't get to the store right away and just want a cup right away.

Not on the video version. It's the mocha version. But as indicated in the instructions in the details you can do vanilla version by substituting for vanilla or caramel or whatever flavor you want to make. Does that answer your question?
I made this with the list of measurements and it turned out so very bitter and 90% of the coffee grounds werent even dissolved eventhough i stirred it for 5 minutes in hot water
That's very odd to be honest. Mine doesn't turn out bitter and I use instant coffee and it disolves fine. I do know if you use too much coffee it will be bitter. I make this often and so do many other people that have commented on here. Not sure what to tell you if your sure you did correctly.

@@Southern_Pixel oh definitely that's a strong coffee. I use Folger's classic roast. All red container. If you like less strong coffee taste then use more milk ratio then coffee. Like I do 5 cups of coffee and 6 cups milk. That's perfect for me. Follow the coffee measurement for each 8oz water you use. It's like maybe a tsp to 8 oz you don't need a lot. Microwave your water real hot and then dissolve your coffee first, then add cocoa and sugar to dissolve all. Milk last then put in fridge

The best coffee to use to get it exact is the starbucks brand espresso blend. Granted it's a bit pricey compared to instant lol.
I've been using cold brew medium roast coffee in mine lately. I just wanted people to know they could use instant too.

your right they add a thickner its called "pectin" its used as a thickening agent

The coffee is 6oz cups, the milk is 8oz standard cup size. Hope that answers

That's very odd to be honest. Mine doesn't turn out bitter and I use instant coffee and it disolves fine. I do know if you use too much coffee it will be bitter. I make this often and so do many other people that have commented on here. Not sure what to tell you if your sure you did correctly.

Edit: Also, i didnt end up even puting the amount of coffee you said, that was the only thing i actually changed. I put 2 cups instead of 5. 5 would have definitely been too much
@@Southern_Pixel oh definitely that's a strong coffee. I use Folger's classic roast. All red container. If you like less strong coffee taste then use more milk ratio then coffee. Like I do 5 cups of coffee and 6 cups milk. That's perfect for me. Follow the coffee measurement for each 8oz water you use. It's like maybe a tsp to 8 oz you don't need a lot. Microwave your water real hot and then dissolve your coffee first, then add cocoa and sugar to dissolve all. Milk last then put in fridge
