Im so proud of Cory Wong. He said in an interview that Victor Wooten was his childhood idol and now playing a show where Vic learned *his* song. OMG what a legend.
Like many artists that I get lucky enough to stumble across, I found this because I was lookin for VWoo stuff. Such an awesome group of musicians. I saw Victor many years ago at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, and had the great fortune of meeting him out in the lobby afterwards. We talked for awhile - one of the nicest humans you'll ever meet. I can listen to this song over and over...
He's doing a great job making a regular guitar sound like Mark Lettieri's of the Fearless Flyers baritone guitar; is it in standard tuning? Also, the lighting is so cool to make that orange pop.
This was amazing and I am so happy to see my favorite mythical rhythm monsters Victor and Nate playing together! I would absolutely love to see Bill Frisell and Julian Lage play with you guys too.
the best congregation of musicians playing some of the best music with such amazing quality... so thankful this is all up on the web for us to listen to over and over, THANK YOU NATE AND FRIENDS! this recent stint of live performances has me speechless. EACH ONE JUST GETS BETTER THAN THE LAST
I rediscovered Cory through an Adam Neely interview. It was during the two just talking I discovered he always admired Victor. When he met Victor I'm not sure but it was inevitable. Every project Cory's in are killer. I'm used to seeing you play a three piece so I had to lay down for a moment. I was what the hell was that after Ariel's solo. I need to check him out further. Thanks Nate.
I’m with this Neil guy.. even though I have no clue who he is, I agree that you have to come to scotland, I’ll come, maybe Neil and I can meet as well.
Awesome jam, just as a musician I really do not like what your videographer did.. weird slowmo cuts in the heat of action.. filming the musicians’ back in stead of their front .. not great Musicianship is awesome, I like Ariel added to this mix fits really well
Im sorry but after hearing the fearless flyers versions I just think this is like if someone at their house was trying to play over the original song without good timing. Weird solo and, SPECIALLY, weird timing overall. Also no Joe hurts the rhythm section. I understand these are world-class musicians, but It would play like a cover if it wasnt for Cory nd Nate doing wonders.

Not to mention that victor has played at least 1 song on one of his albums with cory and the wong notes.
I also saw Cory on tour in the beginning of the year and Victor played the whole tour with him!

Nate and Victor as a rhythm section is the most pocketed pocket of all the pockets
Nate , we seriously appreciate how you purposefully combine the Old(er) School with the New School.
💜🦋
We need all these in an album...STAT!!
That’s all I’m saying!😂😂
Ariel!! I need to watch that solo again, immediately.
Glad to see Ariel stand with legends as a legend.

That transition out of the solo section was next level

Nice work
Now where have I heard that intro drumbeat before. Sounds really familiar. Anyone?
Fearless Flyers from an alternate universe
Who did the audio mix on this? It sounds great!
6:30 out of nowhere Wynona's big brown beaver makes an appearance
What Sir do we need to do to get you to play Scotland? Cory’s been. We know enough good guys & cool venues to get this done.
🙏🏽✊

I completely agree with these 2 people I have never met before in my life. You should definitely come to Scotland!
@@davidmcmanus6141 you sound like a level headed guy.

clichè to say... but im going trough some shit at the moment and this performance grounded me good! Thank you
this solo was fcking amazing. never heard of ariel posen
Definely sounds like “Love Machine”
Glad I'm not the only one who heard it
Frustrated I can only hit the like button once.
Phish vibes from guitar playing in the beginning
sorry to say it but the song was better without ariel
I’m sorry, was that a Michael Jackson fill!?
Don't stop 'til you get enough
And a partial miles davis quote and a partial jimi quote
This is Corald Wong. A mature less striped version.
Ariel’s solo was DISGUSTING 😤
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Vic is bored. Very inoffensive music but it doesn’t really say anything. Needs Nate and Vic bringing the funk.
