  • Been getting my butt kicked by Nighthaunt players, so thought I'd figure them out for myself. All the resources from captures seem extremely valuable!

    Consider doing one of these for each faction.
    My personal experience as someone who rarely plays RTS. Was campaign on max difficulty is pretty good training wheels. Then when i went to conquest mode i was always just barely losing to ai on medium difficulty as orcs. But last night i decided to try out the undead faction and was steam rolling as them. So i guess im really bad at orcs lol...
    My general impression with them is that yyou really gotta make use of their weaker units abilities. Maybe even some cheese strats with the bombs on their sword units vs buildings? Also since their tier 2 doesnt have any sword characters you gotta make the most of those t1 sword units to deal with enemy shield. idk

      @NakamuraRTS  7 месяцев назад +1

      The other factions are getting covered soon!
      For Orruks, you can get a lot done with a good spread of ranged units, plus using the net ability of the Sloggoth.

      I know how you feel, I lost last second to Nighthaunt a few times in conquest. Still getting used to each faction.

    Great match 🎉 tzeench can be tough to deal with as NH.
    Not getting a bastion early is an interesting choice I have tried myself a few times. It can definitely work, but you risk running out of realmstone against a defensive player who doesn’t allow you to recap. Also having a little surplus of realmstone can work miracles if you get to t3 before your opponent and can start spamming those stronger abilities, so I don’t usually do it.
    rushing t2 could definitely be a good choice if you think you can use the pressure to take out the opponents bastion though. It’s definitely a strategy more people should try.

      Thanks! I totally agree that this is quite all in. A large map is required for the capture economy to work.

    Man i wish they'd come back and balance this game lol. Tzeentch and Nighthaunt.... sheesh. They're nearly unbeatable hordes of long range firepower when playing against the AI. Medium AI in this game feels like a hard AI in DoW2.

    What about the synergy upgrade of nihgthaunt units? Do you see that upgrade used in your games. Veil of terror i think?

  • @penguin_support1801

    Thx for the video. Thats what i needed because Tzeentch seems really strong as well bc all their units have some strong range ability even the acolytes. I did loose often against tzeentch even when i did go range heavy against them. Somehow vs stormcast the last few matches it was good but i lost in the end as well.

    • @penguin_support1801
      @penguin_support1801 7 месяцев назад

      What you can do better is use the ability from the banshees and the Hero from "tec 2". He is really good and a healer as well. The banshee ability disables all cast and instant abilities use from all enemy units in range and will land for example the stormdrake, prosequtors or any other flying unit.

    • @NakamuraRTS
      @NakamuraRTS  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@penguin_support1801 Much easier to use those abilities when you actually build a syphon! This game was too close I felt to make one early. But yes the Banshee ability is awesome, especially when you follow it up with the Hexwraith one.

    Awesome to see you trying them out, I decided to learn Nighthaunt yesterday too and was having a bunch of fun with them, unsure if I am ready to bring them into ranked or I'll likely lose even more mmr. The starter of the build was exactly the same what I have been going for, that early archer upgrade is so good.
    One thing that I was trying differently, unsure if more or less meta, was building a building on the way to T2, not only for the realmstone res income but for the extra unit training slot, to mass up even faster, what are your thoughts on this? I know for definite after testing double realmstone mine is absolutely pointless for Nighthaunt later in the game, my last game I was floating so much Realmstone by the end where the command would have been way more useful.
    Also I love seeing you using the Banshees against Tzeentch especially, they seem pretty lowkey decent compared to lots of peoples thoughts on them. Also VS Tzangor spam a viable strat is targeting the hero with long ranged archers so the Tzangors lose their buff, which is part of what makes them super strong.
    Also regarding attacking their base, your archers with upgrade outrange it's attack if a unit gives line of sight to the base. That is fun to play against haha.

    • @NakamuraRTS
      @NakamuraRTS  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! If the game is very close, I tend to avoid buildings. The big maps especially allow you to just run around and claim free realmstone for captures. But if I actually do get some early kills, I definitely slap the building down.
      Double production is amazing if you can afford it. I think it kinda requires you to soft retreat rather than use the command for it, and you need to very sparingly use charges to be able to afford one without just getting overrun.

    • @FatalExit
      @FatalExit 7 месяцев назад

      @@NakamuraRTS That is actually a very good point thinking about it, especially considering how cheap higher tier Nighthaunt units like hexwraiths and banshees and even hero resummons are realmstone wise compared to their command cost vs other factions.

    Want to like this game but it still feels very janky, almost like an early access title. Poor responsiveness. Unhelpful UI. Difficult to control individual units, which is a major issue with a micro-focused RTS. Very basic unit roster and strategy (spam capture points, hope your rock-paper-scissors comp is better than your opponents). Almost feels like a mobile game. I guess this is the price RTS gamers pay to have it on console (which doesn't make sense - console gamers don't play RTS games). Really hope this improves significantly, right now it is nowhere near worth the $60 price they are asking (and you still don't get everything unlocked, for that you have to pay for the $75 version - stupid, stupid, stupid).

      I wouldn't have hesitated for a 30/35$ game at all. But seeinga 60$ price with already 15$ of DLC is really scaring me.

      It is day 2. I haven't even yet played Tzeentch and Orruks competitively! The key is to somehow delete a clump of their ranged units with an ability combo while having some shield units around to tank, though. For example the Flamers and Vanguard Raptors seem well equipped for this.
