It's 2 am and I'm literally crying, thinking about how did I lose that part of me who was a writer, a writer who writes what she feels instead of thinking if the grammar is right or wrong, a writer who writes to express herself instead of to reach her monthly target. Thank you, Cecilia, thank you.
I can relate to your comment. I got away from my creativity years ago, though, I'm finding my way back home now. It's been a lovely journey. God bless you on yours my friend! :)
Her voice when she speaks with the words that she says mesmerizes me.
Her voice and the acoustics in the presentation are beautiful. Props to the sound engineering team.
I think that’s largely just her voice (and a quiet room).
Cecelia is beautiful. Poet, writer, and spoken word artist who creates melody in her prose.
Cecelia evocatively recounts her life experiences and in particular, her loss of a brother to suicide.
But it’s not without tinges of sadness.
Thank you for your gift of words, Cecelia.
its absolutely wonderful and somewhat satisfying to see humans like her. Keep up Cecilia!
This made my heart ache. So so wonderful - what an awe-inspiring writer.
Managed to see Cecilia live. Honestly one of the best poets out there right now. Inspiring.
Go on, make me cry
Every word she said about her brother seemed to be very important for my heart or it wouldn't have responded so painfully
My dad committed suicide when I was a kid. I have written a few poems about him and how I felt. My intention was to raise awarness but I have never been brave enough to share them.
Put them on here!?
Yeah. I agree with John-if you feel comfortable with posting them publicly here, I’m sure I speak for the lot when I say we’d love to read it!
When my brother committed suicide I wrote and hid, wrote and hid for 3 years. I couldn't not write, I was terrified not to. Something inside died, but the pain didn't. 45 years now, and it's still gnaws at me. Thanks for sharing, even this much.
can you send it to me I need it, I am barely alive.
@@tricia3357 I'm sorry to see you've yet to receive a reply. I hope you've cheered up along the journey some, I'm just a random traveller in the night and I send you my love X
I sit here thinking about the suicide in my family and the last lines she spoke about her brother hit so hard. It is something you carry and perhaps writing has made my load a little lighter but no less important. There will never be words for it
I began to write poems and this was a good start for getting inspiration..
I had to watch this a few times. Deep and moving. The gem is that the words really relate to those who understand the experiences of despair, confusion and revelation! Dope video.
unbelievably mesmerizing, captivating, just threw me out of reality for these 14:14 and after she finished i found myself with tear drops in my eyes. so talented, well-spoken, opening, inspiring...
Her words. The way she expresses them. What a gift.
Magnificent ! Thank you a million times over Cecilia. Your video has brought back my need to keep writing. Tears fall from my eyes.
I am FLOORED. What an inspirational speech and a sensitive writing.
This was incredibly bittersweet.
Wow. That piece she wrote on loss just resounds with me right now. Thank you.
I was very touched by this. Tears came to my eyes toward the end.
So inspirational. What a girl.
Saw a brief extract of Cecilia in a BBC documentary about performance poetry. Have always loved poetry and wrote it for years when I was a teacher and used it with children.
Cecilia has a much calmer style of performance than many young poets. Really fascinating and interesting to listen. I imagine she will be an inspiration to many. I hope so.
My lord it’s good to have a nice cry and appreciate the fact that good writing is still alive
Giving me the courage to write. Cecilia this takes my breath away. Thank you.
I had an English lesson and she was on the call to the college at the time and I got to have fun writing for once. It's something I'm passionate doing as well.
Cecilia‘s voice is so calming! 😍
Simply stunning.
This was so beautiful. As someone who loves writing.., every word she said touched my heart..thank you for awakening that beautiful writer within us..💜
So powerful and bittersweet.

Damn I write to find a version of myself that I'm not at odds with thank you for your time and help
Just added her to my list of authors/ books to read.

Thank you for this inspirational, beautiful TedxTalk. A lovely expression of creativity.
Truly inspiring!
This Is so beautiful!
Amazing
Her face is so beautiful...
Current spirit animal.
🤨as someone who is illiterate I might be a tad over excessively biased but psh numbers, Greek/etc alphabet, statistics, engineering, STEM, etc are so much more fun/etc than writing words/sentences/paragraphs or whatever 💯💯💯💯💯REAL LIFE💯💯💯💯💯lol
i am crying..
I loved every Piece of her poem
Did she go out with the guy from Rizzle Kicks?
I like write storys like an emotion and like if the world around me was alive.
Bonita!
This title is misleading.
True, but it's still good
But she does have an argument for why we should write. Her evidence is largely personal, but she includes widely applicable bits about creativity- writing included- being a tool for self-expression and healing.
He saw ribs; and I said, "I think it's a dinosaur-,"
Wow this is absolutely boring content. If I ever have trouble falling asleep this sort of content would be perfect 💯thanks for that 🙏🏾The title should be changed to “…sleep aid… etc” and or something
She sounds like Ed Sheeran, are they from the same area?
No em, umm...no single stutter at all. TF is that even possible?
the way she tries to make it seem like shes a great writer is annoying. we know your a good poet, stop being a tryhard
I don't see her as a try hard, just super talented and comfortable on a stage
Thank you
