Husband died 30years ago. I am not well off but am ok. Can vacation if I want. Never to the USA medical insurance cost as much as the trip. I like Ireland, Italy, or a lazy drive across Canada (did that two years ago).

My wife and I traded our gas generator for a propane one and LOVE it. No carb issues to worry about, starts the first time, every time. If you go that route you'll never go back. Love the videos!

Every time I would scoop the litters through the years, one of my cats would appear out of nowhere to use it and it was never just to take a pee!😸 Good to hear your post-surgery recoup is winding down! Not being able to mindlessly pick up and carry what you want or need to is a pain, I know.💗

Hi Jenna.. I had missed your videos and saw this and that you'd had surgery!! So glad you're better!! From reading comments, I deduced it was back surgery..? If so, please be very careful. I've had 4 back surgeries and the last one was for stenosis and left me in a wheelchair (I'm 71). Many doctors had told me told me to 'keep your core tight', which I ignored, and lived to regret it. Anyway, take care of your sweet self!

I purchased a Energizer eZV3500p which is a 3500watt with a remote start/electric start. I am a Honda Generator guy, but you have to spend a small fortune to get electric start (plus I don't need 7000watts). I decided to go this route as it was Inverter, (not dual fuel) and remote start. Bought it Online through Rona Canada. Sent with a dead battery that they completely replaced the next day (shipped a new one). It works great and is super quiet. Over 10 hours on a full tank running a camp. Pretty awesome. Was $1100 on sale.
It might. Unsightly but you could run the diesel duct work through the interior. You would get the additional radiated heat also. Run it up and along the ceiling.
Just a hot mess around the homestead. Glad you are following doctor orders. Ramsey needs to be educated on his job. Great idea on the generator maintenance. Wooo-Hooo, Jenna's back! You are absolutely right about taking the generator to a repair place and explaining what you did so far. Also make sure you ask them about how they guarantee their work. Most will cover the parts and labor if the new parts cause a failure or problem. I get mesmerized looking at those beautiful embers in you stove, I miss my woodburner, many memories sitting around it on cold Winter nights. Wish you a speedy recovery and a caught mouse, lol.
With the borrowed gen, turn off fridge freezer while charging, put a big note on the power stations that says, fridges!!! Could also be an over frequency alarm because the gen is not loaded enough, add a 1500w heater straight from gen and see if smooths out.

I think it would be easier than taking multiple trips out to the shed for firewood. It's actually snowing in east Tennessee today. It's so pretty. Good to see you and the kids. Been thinking tons on how you’re doing girl. Issues to my camper last week- the bottom of my door was iced/frozen shut. A couple small hip checks did the trick though 👍. Everyone says leave the heat on over the night. NO THANKS. I don’t like it so warm when I’m sleeping. Doesn’t take long TO warm up the place and my house that burned in the middle of the night, all began in the walls, fire spread SO FAST by following the wiring. Not very trusting now at all. 🥴. Take it easy, don’t rush your healing, sometimes the inner side takes longer than suggested time frame. You’ll know- ya know your body better than those who text book says ok you can do whatever. 👍

I had problems and surgery also at one time - in my case i had been in a coma for a while and lost 50 pounds - it took some time but i recovered and have been back to normal - Your charger on your power station might require cleaner AC power - if the borrowed generator is of a lower wattage - the generator head is more likely a smaller diameter than the larger one you normaly use - You would have to look up on you tube and see if some one explaned the diffeences with between the sign wave of smaller generators, larger generators, inverter generators and the sign wave synchronous AC that that is provided by the grid - Many battery chargers dont work well on smaller regular generators - also motors like on air conditioner compressors - Things like AC units might run on a generator but if its a smaller gen the AC unit will draw the same power but the compressor motor will turn slower - a 5000 btu AC unit might only put out 4000 BTUs running off a smaller regular gen - that often happens with phone chargers also they will not charge phone batterys as fast as on the grid power -

Hello from Washington State on the eastern side. Sounds like you are on the mend from surgery. Ramsey sure loves that new fountain. Both cats are quite the characters! We are getting snow here and it's sticking. Not a lot yet. Had flu over the holidays and still feel tired, but that's probably due to my age, 67, and I don't heal as fast from illnesses like when I was younger.
Thanks for the update, Jenna! We've all wondered how your recovery was going. Hope you get the generator figured out and that it doesn't cost you the same as if you were to buy a new one. The big question is, did you catch the mouse!!?? 🙂
Jenna when your fire goes out take some newspaper and dip it in water and then in the ashes in your stove and use it to clean the glass it will become sparkly clean! Little tip for you!

If you could fit solar panels to more of your roof, and the roof of the green "shed" structure you could be much less dependant on petrol and generators. Bigger solar capture would help with battery life too, batteries really don't do well when they don't get a good charge.
i think your power station is shutting off because the generator isnt providing a pure sine wave and the charger isnt handling the unstable power well but under a larger load it might be enough to even out a bit. have you considered using your vehicle as a backup power source? You could get an additional inverter and run an extension cord into your home. A 500W inverter would be safe to avoid putting long term strain on your alternator. the lfp charger you have draws 250w iirc and you can connect the power station to that battery bank to charge. once again i know its annoying but...battery shunt.. setup car -> inverter -> extension cord -> lfp charger-> big battery inverter -> power station
Glad your well and to see you checking in with us, I always enjoy your channel. I live in the Catskill Mts. and have to plan my food runs, it's 30 mi to Walmart from my cabin. I have to pick a day when the weather is good for driving. I make monthly runs. I think your older generator puts out better than that other one. I think having the current fluctuating around can damage you equipment.
Hi Jenna glad to see you,glad your doing good. We had a winter blast yesterday unexpected snow ,the usual 12 semi pile up on i-10 just west of Las Cruces but that wasn't exciting enough. Noooóo! Since my solar was down due to no sun for 4 days ,I decided to get tacos so I didn't have to mess with washing dishes and cooking by headlight well with the tacos brought back a nice case of food poisoning sheeeesh that was terrible. feeling better after12 hours of sleep. Glad you haven't had any of that, good to see you up and around❤😊

I love my Firman dual fuel generator. I only use propane to charge my 5th wheel house batteries and power station. I hate hauling gasoline. Glad to see your recovery is going well. I know, hard to be patient, especially when you’re use to doing things. Not long now.
If you want to use generator in the winter i would suggest change the oil to 0~20 synthetic. Starts way more better. Maybe try gas line antifreeze too!
it's nice when cats catch the mice. it's not so nice when they leave half in the middle of your bedroom floor so when you wake up at 2:30 in the morning you clomp on to a squishy mess of blood and gore. but i hear it's like a gift... so... i guess i'm dry heaving from gratefulness.
I went to get a bowl from the cabinet once and it had chocolate sprinkles in it..then I realized I never bought chocolate sprinkles.. I removed and washed everything from all my cabinets and sealed every little gap I could find..never did find the little culprit but haven’t found any chocolate sprinkles again either.

I'm so sorry to hear about your back😔. It was an abdominal surgery I had (organ removal). I was just cleared on Monday 🙂

I have a dual fuel Firman. I love it. I just use propane. No need to clean carbs, cheaper than gas and burns cleaner.
I have the same Firman Generator. I haven't used propane before tho just curious how long will it run on full tank of propane?

I had problems and surgery also at one time - in my case i had been in a coma for a while and lost 50 pounds - it took some time but i recovered and have been back to normal -
Your charger on your power station might require cleaner AC power - if the borrowed generator is of a lower wattage - the generator head is more likely a smaller diameter than the larger one you normaly use -
You would have to look up on you tube and see if some one explaned the diffeences with between the sign wave of smaller generators, larger generators, inverter generators and the sign wave synchronous AC that that is provided by the grid -
Many battery chargers dont work well on smaller regular generators - also motors like on air conditioner compressors -
Things like AC units might run on a generator but if its a smaller gen the AC unit will draw the same power but the compressor motor will turn slower - a 5000 btu AC unit might only put out 4000 BTUs running off a smaller regular gen - that often happens with phone chargers also they will not charge phone batterys as fast as on the grid power -

Hello from Washington State on the eastern side. Sounds like you are on the mend from surgery. Ramsey sure loves that new fountain. Both cats are quite the characters! We are getting snow here and it's sticking. Not a lot yet. Had flu over the holidays and still feel tired, but that's probably due to my age, 67, and I don't heal as fast from illnesses like when I was younger.

Jenna when your fire goes out take some newspaper and dip it in water and then in the ashes in your stove and use it to clean the glass it will become sparkly clean! Little tip for you!

If you could fit solar panels to more of your roof, and the roof of the green "shed" structure you could be much less dependant on petrol and generators. Bigger solar capture would help with battery life too, batteries really don't do well when they don't get a good charge.

i think your power station is shutting off because the generator isnt providing a pure sine wave and the charger isnt handling the unstable power well but under a larger load it might be enough to even out a bit. have you considered using your vehicle as a backup power source? You could get an additional inverter and run an extension cord into your home. A 500W inverter would be safe to avoid putting long term strain on your alternator. the lfp charger you have draws 250w iirc and you can connect the power station to that battery bank to charge. once again i know its annoying but...battery shunt..

car -> inverter -> extension cord -> lfp charger-> big battery inverter -> power station
Glad your well and to see you checking in with us, I always enjoy your channel. I live in the Catskill Mts. and have to plan my food runs, it's 30 mi to Walmart from my cabin. I have to pick a day when the weather is good for driving. I make monthly runs. I think your older generator puts out better than that other one. I think having the current fluctuating around can damage you equipment.
Hi Jenna glad to see you,glad your doing good. We had a winter blast yesterday unexpected snow ,the usual 12 semi pile up on i-10 just west of Las Cruces but that wasn't exciting enough. Noooóo! Since my solar was down due to no sun for 4 days ,I decided to get tacos so I didn't have to mess with washing dishes and cooking by headlight well with the tacos brought back a nice case of food poisoning sheeeesh that was terrible. feeling better after12 hours of sleep. Glad you haven't had any of that, good to see you up and around❤😊

Ecoflow needs a pure sine wave generator. Plug the ecoflow into your inverter and chargers your house battery from the generator.

I love my Firman dual fuel generator. I only use propane to charge my 5th wheel house batteries and power station. I hate hauling gasoline. Glad to see your recovery is going well. I know, hard to be patient, especially when you’re use to doing things. Not long now.

If you want to use generator in the winter i would suggest change the oil to 0~20 synthetic. Starts way more better. Maybe try gas line antifreeze too!

In the ecoflow app, you can change the AC charging speed. Try lowing it to around 500 watts or lower, and see if it still does it.
it's nice when cats catch the mice. it's not so nice when they leave half in the middle of your bedroom floor so when you wake up at 2:30 in the morning you clomp on to a squishy mess of blood and gore. but i hear it's like a gift... so... i guess i'm dry heaving from gratefulness.

I went to get a bowl from the cabinet once and it had chocolate sprinkles in it..then I realized I never bought chocolate sprinkles.. I removed and washed everything from all my cabinets and sealed every little gap I could find..never did find the little culprit but haven’t found any chocolate sprinkles again either.
