    Nice review and overview of the stuff. For 90% of home gamer folks, this will do it. For the rest of us tool weirdo's, I think we probably have 10x overkill of this kit and will die happy that way. :-)

    Theres long been talk about how we need to make tools less intimidating and more stylistic so that women can use them too. Appearantly the same thing goes for modern men too? It would be nice to see at least some of the big ticket items tested though, like the drill comes with some pretty thick drill bits. Would be nice to see that its actually able to drive what it comes with and such.
    How do you feel about the construction of these? The metal looks a bit porous and the plastic looks like its ABS instead of FRN like normal, but hard to tell on camera.
    12:38 - sounds like it has a soft start, the gen 2 milwaukee 12v sounds a little bit similar when you turn on soft start on it

    • @ThingsMen
      @ThingsMen  2 месяца назад

      @@kvernesdotten I think they are just attempting to appeal to multiple markets while being futuristic in design. How that correlates to longevity will be difficult to tell. I wish there were more drill bit selection. These are meant for soft materials only. Metal seems good for Chinese standards. Definitely not on the lower end.
      Drill doesn’t appear to be ABS. Definitely softer and more pliable. The soft start is nice addition and the progressive trigger is a nice touch. Just goes to show how they attempted to tackle some of the more finite things.
      Will I toss out my Milwaukee, Dewalt and Makita sets over this? No way, but for an entry tool this was surprisingly pretty good. 👍🏻

      @@kvernesdotten yea I think for some people new to tolls or not as inclined it can be intimidating. It’s also nice for some to know that all of these pieces are designed to work together and store cleanly and well organized in a simple kit. I get that some people don’t have extra space or garage and this would be a hit. Again it’s not meant for all audiences but it does organize many things well. 👍🏻

      @kvernesdotten 2 месяца назад +1

      @@ThingsMen Yeah I kinda just realized im probably judging these way too harshly because its very easy to think that 300 bucks for this is them trying to take advantage of people not knowing better by selling it in a package that looks good when one could probably get better tools for cheaper at a local hardware store.
      But like you said, theres probably a fairly big demographic that wouldnt rummage through a hardware store at all, and just want a all-in-one thing where its a good selling point that they look Apple-y.
      Appreciate the conversation though!

      @ThingsMen  2 месяца назад

      @@kvernesdotten yea most of us watching this channel might have a similar view as yourself. We enjoy the process of finding the right tools where a lot of others who are new to this process just don’t have the time or knowledge so an all inclusive kit with seemingly nice tools is sufficient. I think Blackstone does a good job catering to that base.
      Always enjoy conversing. 👍🏻

    Looks like a $270 gift you give to someone who doesn't own any tools, and unfortunately doesn't know what any of them are for. I feel the same way about any prepackaged tool kit, so no offense to BlackZero. This set kinda has the feel of something you'd see in an airplane shopping catalog like SkyMall. When I gift tools to beginners, it's usually used tools and personalized to the person, but I'm a tool guy that can usually find gently used higher quality tools that I can pass onto others.

    • @ThingsMen
      @ThingsMen  2 месяца назад

      @@egbluesuede1220 yea this set isn’t meant for all audiences. I think it’s a better fit for people who are new to diy work and want good tools without paying high prices or having to branch out to do a lot of homework. For that I think Blackstone managed to find the segment of the market and cater a good kit for it. 👍🏻
