I recently took the bus from Querétaro to Mexico City. Even though the tickets were bought right there at the station about ten minutes before departure, the whole experience was great, and the people at the terminal were very helpful.
If you are not Spanish-speaking, I highly recommend getting your bus tickets in advance to avoid some disconnect. I thought it was going be super easy to get bus tickets and head to San Miguel once we landed in Mexico City. After getting the tickets, we waited at the bus station with our bus not listed on the board the entire time. All of the buses with our departure time had left the board and we were just standing there anxious but every attendant assured us it was on the way. We waited 40 minutes for our bus to actually get there then we were worried about missing our connecting bus since our first bus was so late. All went well and I am glad for the experience, but it was not as smooth as it could’ve been😅 if only this video had come out a couple weeks earlier! Hahaha
Public transit is my go to when I’m traveling. I know it takes longer than renting a car but I love riding with folks, making friends and not dealing with all the hassles of renting a car. Great video as always 👍🏻👏🏻🙏✌🏻🤙🏻
I don’t know why I love your videos, I’m Mexican, and I really enjoy your videos. I like to see the perspective of my country in the eyes of foreigners, besides that with your videos I learn English. Saludos desde la Ciudad de México (Sorry if I made a mistake with my English)
Let me tell you something: the information she packs into these videos is mind-blowing! She covers things I haven't even thought about "thinking" of (if that makes sense)! This is like the second, or third, or tenth video I've seen by her that has been SO helpful, it's not even funny! Thank you SO MUCH for this content!
Excellent video! Really. A lot of useful details, very well explained, and very refreshing (not boring at all). All your tips are going to be very useful to me. Thanks a lot.
I’m just finishing up a 4 month (4 stop) trip to Mexico. I ended up using buses to get from location to location. I was surprised by how cheap and how nice the buses were. I used ETN which was great. All but one of the trips went smoothly - 5hr delay due to a traffic issue - plan for that to potentially happen
Lovely video, Alex. Bien hecho! I do most of my Mexico travel in the Yucatan region, and the ADO bus website is similar to the Primera Plus site you demonstrated. I tip my luggage handler when loading as well as when collecting my bags. Be sure to keep valuable and important documents with you on your person (inside) the bus, and try to select a seat not too close to the onboard toilet. Cheers!
Thanks for this video! I love bus travel in Mexico and try to convince friends it is the way to go. On my last bus trip from Guadalajara to Guanajuato I sat with a Mexican woman. We didn’t talk much but she was happy watching the movie Mamma Mia, while I was watching the band Queen Live from Montreal. We both seat danced our way to GTO.
Travelling on a luxury bus in Mexico is way more enjoyable and comfortable experience than in Canada (more akin to cattle shipping). Argentina provides a similar experience (as in Mexico, some bus companies are better than others, obviously).
Your channel consistently provides the best travel tips for people traveling to Mexico. On my last trip to Mexico with my family, we took a first-class bus trip from CDMEX to Morelia Michoacan. It was a great experience, better than what is available in the states.
Truly the ultimate guide!! This is so helpful-- I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know you're supposed to tip the luggage handlers 🤦🏻♀ I always learn something from you! Thanks for the shoutout!! 💕
Thank you so much for this video. I'll be making my first flight into Mexico City later this month then taking a bus to Puebla. I have been so nervous about handling the bus travel. I really appreciate this video. Of course, I've been nervous about about the MX airport too and will watch your other video about that in a little while. Thank you for your informative YT channel.
Congratulations for your video. Its very good and detailed. As a mexican citizen I love to travel by bus. In Mexico the buses are really good, specially First Class with movies and music. When I am abroad, travel by bus has been sometimes a nightmare. I miss the snack they usually gave before covid.
Thanks for the informative video ,on those beautiful buses .In 1982,I was a student and took inexpensive buses to Acapulco, Oaxxaca, and Michocan.I don't remember what class but they weren't fancy. I went back to Baja Norte and Baja Sur by bus in 1988 and it was inexpensive and fun.
Yeah I love the bus style travelling. In Mexico from CDMX I have taken buses to Puebla and Acapulco, then to Puerto Escondido. Then a much smaller bus to Mazunte, a colectivo to Pochutla and a OCC bus to Salina Cruz. Sometimes you need to wrap up warm as they can have the AC set to Artic cold. Next week I take a bus from Tapachula to Guatemala City.

Hi Alex, Traveling to Guadalajara next week for the first time. Checking things out to see if Guadalajara could be my next home after I retire in about a year. Love your videos, very helpful. I will be taking a bus over to Queretaro and maybe San Miguel de Allende. Any absolute must sees in any of those cities? I'll be traveling alone so any advice for a solo traveler?
@@alex-wittman yes! For a while I thought oh my gosh you and Taylor moved until I saw your Mom. So I don't want to move to Mexico anymore I want to move to her house. 😄
Your Mum is so cute! Thanks for the great video! Do you prefer sitting in any particular seat? I watched a video once and they recommended the first seats as the best. I can't remember why though :)
If I am traveling alone, I will get one in the very back since there's usually one row of single seats. Otherwise, I like more toward the front (first row is the best since no one can recline their seat on you).
I should have watched this video before I traveled from San Miguel to Queretaro on a second-class bus. It was fine except for the fact I didn't realize it was essentially doubling as a school bus and delivering kids from SM to their homes outside the city. It was constant starting and stopping on back roads and doubled the time it took to get to our destination. Yikes!
What is the conversion rate when using PayPal? How long does it show up on your account? First time buying ahead of time since I'm flying in from Austin.
I will be going to Merida (city) on May 3rd. I will be there for 3 days. I was thinking of takin the Maya train to Cancun on the 6th, but I can not seem to find a website where I can pruchase tickets. With that said, I would like to have a plan B if train fails..
