I'm an LCK Andy but ffs it must hurt as a western fan seeing G2 having to play 3 of the tournament's best teams (HLE, T1 and BLG) and ultimately failing to qualify for top 8 (when they definitely deserve that top 8 spot, as they're clearly better than teams like LNG and WBG as a whole) while NA teams only have to play wildcard teams and themselves to get into Quarters.

HLE hasn't looked as they should, dominant, with the hyped up Zeka not that good Vs FLY, Peanut not doing much in some sets, yet they still won 1 Vs GEN. The deserve is misused by people a lot, change the draws WBG Vs FLY, DK Vs TL, or also switching those and none from the West advances.
What's the point of making Quarterfinals if you're not going to advance anyway? Even G2 acknowledge they weren't better than those teams and that's why they didn't advance, they said it themselves. FLY is an example of making top 8 but just to get a better photo finish and stat.

It's never about the roster, its about the game patch, meta, and how coaches and players adapt. We had stable patches before, teams then are able to master picks and experiment on off meta champs and play styles

Yes fly quest has no chance but honestly I expect fly quest to whip out some crazy picks and geng (peyz) might choke.
I don't think there's anything that G2 can do besides just focus up and get better as a squad. China and South Korea are the biggest regions and just have so much talent to pull from that it's simple mathematics that the individual top players from those two regions will just be better. Weibo is 4th seed LPL and would be a #1 team in any other smaller region. I don't think it's impossible, but G2 at their best are underdogs compared to top teams from LPL and LCK.
