SPEARFISHING TRANSKEI - DAY 4 - MY DREAM FISH

On this episdode of Spearfsihing Transkei we finally get some good fish. On my very first dive a manage a pink banksteenbras of close to 5kg and the fish just kept on coming for the day with everyone landing some good fish.
After the previous days exploring and searching for reef we had a better idea of where to go and what to look for. At the last spot for the day and after about 50 dives for the day Evan spotted a nice mark on the echo. We made one last drift and Evan started shouting dive dive dive. I took my final breath and dove down. At first i was swimming around trying to scout and then i saw them. Daga Salmon / Mullaway / Jewfish / Kabeljou / Kob what ever you want to call them. Monsters.
Being very tired from all the traveling and diving I got a decent one on target and pulled the triger. All hell broke lose. I was shooting with a 1m freedivers roller with a kicker band. After about 10min of fighting it wrapped around a couple of reefs and it got out.
We ended the day with crayfish and fish pizza that was the best i have ever had.

What another awesome upload! Everything seems to break in the Transkei because of the harsh road conditions but you always make a plan. Such a pity you lost that kob but I did manage to pick up from the footage that it was massive. You will get one brother and I'm sure those pizzas that looked so delicious took away your heartache haha! Can't wait for the next vid in the series. P.S I hope you and your family are all doing well so you and your boys can get back on and in the water again. Keep well Blommie!

Cob, don't be heartsore about it, see I love to shoot it with a spear but the 2nd time I'll shoot it with my camera, shooting with a camera is also rewarding! You just did it the other way around so that's still Great!, now put a spear in the 2nd one proper!
