It always kinda confuses me why they did not give this thing the same side weak spot as the VK 72.01 (K). Unlike the Panzer, it actually has 190mm of "triangle-armor" instead of 160, which means non-gold rounds have a decent chance of bouncing. The Pz VII already has the weaker gun, so also giving it weaker armor is kinda.... weird.
@@jerrydiener6380 Nope, same HP, same mobility. Appart from the gun the only difference is that weak spot and 2° more gun traverse for the Pz VII. Very same hull, same turret, same engine, same everything else. Just a different gun. Which makes it even more confusing why they gave the Pz VII a more vulnurable weakspot.
They never cared about this tank and seems as if they added it to the game just as a filler to the empty line. How long this tank is going without a buff is beyond me.
Hey qb started watching a few yrs ago for fun and stopped playing for a while and when I came back recently I started playing a lot more like you say and it has helped so much learning about all of the tanks and their weakness
I love the goofiness of the PZ VII but it is so characteristically German. Practically immune to standard rounds, and completely butchered by gold. I got mine to a 2-mark then stopped playing it during the time the AMX M4 54 was rampant. A mobility system over a turbo would definitely help the vehicle since the moving and traverse dispersions are so awful, and you get the same benefits to your top speed(s) anyway.
I was grinding for the Maus long ago and the tree switched, do u think it’s still worth finishing the tree because I just want a tier 10 now, I’m done waiting 😂👍🏿?
I just got the Pz.7 a week ago after having it researched for awhile and have found myself really enjoying it. I don't have the Maus, but so far I want to say it might be the best German heavy.
Watching this reminded me of an old Jingles video where he says "he's got balls of steel he knows no fear" about a VK 36.01 H (at the time it was a medium) barrelling down a flank in a Tier 8 match (so, bottom tier for the VK), zero fucks given. Was awesome back then, it's still awesome now. :D
0:40 it suprises u why it has such a bad name in the community, but showing the reason for that right behind. The biggest weakspot is the turret left and right and also in the gun mantlet

I got this tank last month and its quickly becoming one of my favourites. The frontal armore is genuinely so strong that i consistently get 6 to 8K blocking games even in full t10 matchups
The 12.8cm L-60 on the Pz-7 is pretty good. The VK-75.01 "Icebreaker" has the same gun as the Pz-7 but has a slightly lower pen. But at tier 8, the Pz-7's gun can bring fear to enemy tanks even when uptiered.
I really with tho that this tank wass more like its predeccesor the VK B with ability for great sidescraping. It also has weaknesses liek all superheavies-"if they cant find your weakspots, they will just load gold"

This thing was my first tier 10 and its been the source of so much frustration. And trust me I tried the muppet strat didn't work. Its the mantle that bothers me more than anything. Even tier 8s can pen those random weak spots on the mantle. And looking at 3d models those weak spots really seem like unfixed oversights rather than intentional weak points. When I saw this video I had hope it got fixed.
The problem of the panzer 7 for me is premium ammo for me, the side can be a good bait especially for a slow and not a good handling tank, what I think it need is either a more better gun or mobility, and the probably the cheeks of the turret. Or Or. Do what blitz do and nerf the premium ammo, like give it -10% up to -20% less DMG (premium ammo like on normal tank and not like 183 or cobra)

Yeah it really is a great tank, I grinded with it for HT 15(obj. 260) and I did it with it Just the gold spam is annoying, when you know you have frontal armor which you can shrub enemy's of, but the load the 2 and don't care anymore
Pz. 7 needs a buff and to be able to mount the same gun as the VK 72.01K. Gold rounds go straight through the gun mantlet and the side weak spots are silly for a side scraping tank. It's an OK tank if the reds are firing standards at you but it's an xp pinata vs pretty much anything T9 and T10 firing gold.
Yea..... I have finished the field mods. I have started terrible with it ... some 20 % winrate. (a lot of bad luck there) and I ramped it up back to something like 45. The main issue - the mantlet. Everyone knows about it. If you stop for just a little bit, gou get smashed there. Nobody bothers to shoot my lower plate, everyone goes trough the mantlet. So if you play like a madman and never stop, it works. But once you stop, you get rekt hard.

it does but they are just random pixel points more or less. I'm convinced it was some error importing the 3d model and they just never bothered to fix it.
I samehow like it more than maus and e100, is a bit like type 5 heavie, people doesn t take you seriosly while you play it, and you can punish them for that.
I enjoy it, But the thing is everyone I come across shoots like one regular round and then they are like "fuck this full gold" I think PZ deserves A bitt of an buff also with the current meta.
Tried a more 'hull first' approach and got absolutely peppered with gold rounds lol its not worth it, at least on NA when the entire hit log is gold. At least with side scraping they miss the weak point sometimes.
To be honest, i always found that tank not that bad, people don't like it a lot but with that lower plate i can just peak at corners frontally like a dumbass and it can bounce quite reliably
Pz7 needs a buff. Its horrible, 3 marking wasn't bad but it just doesn't have dps, pen, or great armor. It needs something especially after the amx m4 got its buffs
Its just the stupid massive side weskspots, stopping it being able to sidescrape that stopped me playing it. . My clan war version VK looks identical, but doesn't have the side weakspots, so just works miles better.
Just researched the Pz VII yesterday and am currently saving credits to buy it. Can’t wait to try it out!! Need to decide if I sell or keep the tier 9 VK, which I love
Pz7 works only against potatoes because it's an obscure tank with obscure weakpoints once players learn you can butcher its side bulges and mantlet with a T8 the wr will drop
I do find it funny that every tank that can actually push the tempo of the game and dig out all the campers at the back they nerf. It is has no lower plate that every noob can spam gold into, take it out of the game.
What? The DpM is ok for this tank. And giving it rammer doesn't really change anything. Just for faster reload? This tank is all rounder good statistic apart from the armor layout. So instead focusing of one thing the tank had like DpM, why not improving the other aspect of the tank like mobility, endurance while also improve 3% of other stats using vents?
I'm an idiot and i really like my PZ7 ! It was my first T10 and has been able to deal with the powercreep in Random Battles for all those years. I don't play it that much and always seem to do fine somehow.
I think I'm stopping at tier9 because I am grinding ebr line too currently and I also just bought badger which made me in need for more credits. My question is do you play the tier 9 the same way too?

The most frustrating thing about this tank is the mantlet, 210 mm is enough to pen it.

I reckon if this thing had the same side skirts as the E100, (as in wide enough to cover the side weak spots) It would be a MUCH better tank.

I accidentally had a 14,000 damage blocked game in it. Forgot how to aim so i just decided to eat shells for my team.
hold down W and tap A & S to wiggle your lower plate and make the turret basket weakspots harder to hit.
this tank either needs a dpm buff or they should fix the mantlet armor
DpM for super heavy? No. But the buff on mantlet could be worked.

You could have mentionned the mantelet weakspot. It's a huge hole in the tank armor and knowing about it is important when playing the PZ 7

TLDR;
Just go yolo and don't let your opponents time to think otherwise they'll rape your german armor with easy ammo.

Pz. VII's gun mantle is hot garbage if the "premium" ammo is AP or APCR since they mostly overmatch the thin plate behind it.

Wow! None of the tier X heavies fired gold rounds at you in the second battle up on the hill. I can tell you weren't playing on the NA server.
