My parents lean more Gen X culturally but it's not a clean division. My mother and grandmother are both Baby Boomers. Meanwhile, my sister and I, the same familial generation, are Millennial and Gen Z.
50 is definitely Gen X. That generation is 1965 to 1980. But probably has to do more how you act. Us born in the early 80s act pretty Gen X which is why we are called Xenials which is a micro-generation. But actually I am one of those elder Millennials.

My grandmother is always on my ass about being on my phone too much. From 6 am to 10 pm my grandmother is on Facebook. She sits in her chair and doesn’t get up unless she’s hungry or needs the bathroom. I work a full 40 hrs so the only time I’m on my phone is my lunch break and a couple hours after work to read and whatnot before doing my chores
