I seriously hate all this hate towards DJ's who use Traktor/Laptops/Controllers. I started off on Vinyl, then CDJ's and now I use Traktor with timecode CDs. And I have to say its the BEST thing that's ever happened to me, it's enabled me to progress SO much! Stop holding such a grudge and moaning, they play good music, and mix well? Well stop moaning about what equipment they use.
@frank198210 a man after my own heart! I literally have been saying the same thing all these years. I'm only 19 years old, but I've been into dance music heavily for over 10 years. It may sound weird but I grew up with house music. This is true dance music and I hope the rookies don't catch on because we still have a unique mysterious scene which is house, minimal, acid, techno, and soul. I'm happy this scene has not been tainted by the mainstream like dubstep, electro, and "house" has.
@MrGordj definitely not "the loop button" as the x1 does not have a loop button. The x1 uses the lower 2 knobs for loops. He either pressed sync or a hotcue.
Video cannot transmit all the vibrations. I was at his gig in Space and it was awesome! He was playing deeeeep grooves but the energy was mad! Seth is a great dj, no doubt.
i agree that this video is quite boring, but acknowledge that it's only a four minute clip. maybe he got going a bit later. on another note, DJ'ing is actually getting more and more exciting, not boring. with the addition of MIDI controllers etc etc there is so much that a DJ can do to add extra interest and "oomph" to their sets. it doesn't always happen w/ every artist, but a lot of these guys are super talented.
Just went back and read the whole "syncing" argument, which is a valid objection with all the premixed performances nowadays. I think if you've heard Seth play more than once, you know he is a mess at beatmixing, and old-skools it by hand always. Yet the atmosphere he brings and the sets as a whole rarely suffer by it. He is proof you don't need to mix perfectly like software to be considered a good dj. Or as he puts it: "I don't like perfection, perfection is boring. It's not endearing."
At the end of the day we are listening to music here that is created on a computer. It is electronic music. Stop complaining about how MIDI controllers aren't traditional enough. They too are electronic
regardless to what he did..(i do not really know exactly) seth troxler is a very good dj and is well capable of mixing 2 tracks together...there should be no argument on that. whether he is being lazy now...is another questiion.
@frank198210 Word... I couldn't have said it better! I had the pleasure of meeting him & his girlfriend @ a party that my friend put on in London. He's a great guy, humble and friendly to boot.
I know this is going to sound weird but I don't really consider Seth Troxler to be one of the "Detroit Guys" even though I know he's billed as being from there...
Seth is a monster!!!!! Those songs are Darker than Shit. Its all about Track selection. Some beatmatchers suck at track selection so thts why they are haters bcse their dance floors stay epmty.
@DJIGGZ92 with house music styles you wanna hear it swing. if the snare or clap hits at the same exact time every time in relation to the other kick or snare it sounds dead/flat. Not to mention I'm a DJ and I'm up there to DJ not live PA. I don't need to hear those effects, just give me two decks and I'm up there to ride the wave of the tracks and to blend the moods and create something brand new with two records.. i'll leave the effects for the techno DJs.
If the DJ knows his tunes and rocks the place to hell, he can play on a ghetto blaster and an empty tin can for all I care. This is deep, nasty house music. Seth's on it. Ace!
@frank198210 im 16 and it just depends if u appreciate music tbh, for instance no one feels passionately about avicii but he makes a catchy tune for example
@DegreesNorth54 his whole set was not like this. surely if you've been a fan of dance music for over ten years then you should be familiar with the term 'building a set.'
@frank198210 nice..but I'm almost 21 and DJing too and i like this kind of music and most of my DJ mates playing much much faster...i love to warm up for them... and this one is amazing... :)
@extacy791 I think maybe youre right here.. The fact is tho that hes getting gigs probly from his producing so djing is probably second to him. Im sure he dont give a damn what we think when the check rolls in
yeah but this guy is a different one he gets more and more fame around the last 5 years so he had the most gigs in 2012 and is voted on the first rank he knows to create a good atmosphere in my opinion ricardo is the best but troxler is a bomb ...
@siKnaStyProductions That is if sophistication ever settles in. I'm an American, and I can tell you that's a bold assumption. There are so many reasons why I say this that I can't get into it here.
These purist vinyl/cdj wankers need to understand that the benefits of having an interactive setup with more features sometimes outweighs the pride to manually beatmatch tracks. I use a midi controller and I always make sure the tracks are in-line because the program often mis-matches the synchronization, so you need to pitch bend it anyway. It just gives you more time to do other important things which can actually be heard. Nothing wrong with digital djing.
False. He presses the lower right thumbstick which triggers the loop function. Which he uses repeatedly throughout the video btw. You can quite clearly hear the tracks going of sync a bit
@frank198210 OMG! You couldn't have said it any better. I'm sick of these rookies talkin like they know what real good dance music is. They'll only learn when they listen to it long enough.
this guy's so underrated, he is one of those djs that don't need to mix a song every 2 mins or play a banger to make you fucking dance. great job.
i agree with frank i'm 34 and hav been listening 2 house music for 23 years!
Anyone who's seen him live knows he absolutely slams.
Don't feed the trolls.
one of the best lives i ever seen
this guy is crazy hahahah
troxler rox!
Ultrasone headphones for the WIN WIN! Great mix!
ive seen him mix live...on slightly damaged needles a couple years back and do it flawlessly so if he feels like pressing sync he has earned it!
thx alot kords
troxler is the best pregnant dj ever
I had no idea that he was such a hipster.. What a boss

Let's be honest, Seth is a beast.
For BBC's Essential Mix he said that he did the mix live in one take, because he liked the feeling of a live set with some flaws
thank you!!! where is gone real music with vinyls?
Its ok to press sync as long as you use the time it saves to be creative with effects and stuff.
@tarik1982 thank you!:) but the vocals are diffrent arent they?
@MrGordj definitely not "the loop button" as the x1 does not have a loop button. The x1 uses the lower 2 knobs for loops. He either pressed sync or a hotcue.
@DeepNYCHouse its called timecode vinyl, just in case you think your comment has any sense
@Gabocastello claro bienvenida la tecnologia!!!!!! thumbs up
He is playing Joeski - inside my mind but it is remix. Who did this remix?
;)
thanks for sharing ...
@LucidicProductions I agree. I like everything from Metal to Minimal... but 'quality' Minimal (in all it's forms) is my true love
whats the name of that first tune, any one? with the tribal voice
someone could tell me all the lyrics of the music, ou let a link right here pleaseee
my heart beats at 120 bpm
Awesome! Track name please!
@DeepNYCHouse yeah because a lot of these tunes aren't even released on vinyl.
Video cannot transmit all the vibrations. I was at his gig in Space and it was awesome! He was playing deeeeep grooves but the energy was mad! Seth is a great dj, no doubt.
anybody knows what model of glasses is wearing Seth ?
kords do you know a site where you can buy these kind of glasses ?
i agree that this video is quite boring, but acknowledge that it's only a four minute clip. maybe he got going a bit later. on another note, DJ'ing is actually getting more and more exciting, not boring. with the addition of MIDI controllers etc etc there is so much that a DJ can do to add extra interest and "oomph" to their sets. it doesn't always happen w/ every artist, but a lot of these guys are super talented.
Track ID - Darude Sandstorm (Seth Troxler Bootleg)
piss off with the comments. Who cares how he makes or plays his music. His music is heaven to my ears
Just went back and read the whole "syncing" argument, which is a valid objection with all the premixed performances nowadays.

@TheGundampeppe that title was previously held by Luciano
if the people are dancing, the dj has done his job
At the end of the day we are listening to music here that is created on a computer.
It is electronic music.
Stop complaining about how MIDI controllers aren't traditional enough.
They too are electronic
not read much of this, but seth has no problem beat matching btw... he has been producing and djing with all the detroit dons since he was little.
hes using timecoded vinyls which is exactly the same except he has all of his music
I love how in the beginning he is making love to his turntables
These comments are funny because he is now 1st on RA Dj list.... + I like his music; even though I`m a Plus 8, Minus, Sci+Tec, Rekluse fan......
With turntables it's impossible to press sync
regardless to what he did..(i do not really know exactly) seth troxler is a very good dj and is well capable of mixing 2 tracks together...there should be no argument on that. whether he is being lazy now...is another questiion.
Track ID 3:40????
@MysticPauly I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THE ENERGY, IT SEEMS TO BE BORING... BUT NOW I UNDERSTAND!
Wohooo!!!
I love his butt shaking thing he has going on haha
@frank198210 Word... I couldn't have said it better! I had the pleasure of meeting him & his girlfriend @ a party that my friend put on in London. He's a great guy, humble and friendly to boot.
Joeski "Inside My Mind" (Alex Davis & Herald remix)
I know this is going to sound weird but I don't really consider Seth Troxler to be one of the "Detroit Guys" even though I know he's billed as being from there...

@Ib1ZaStyle They're called the "Grandma".
@frank198210 nice..but I'm almost 21 and DJing too and i like this kind of music and most of my DJ mates playing much much faster...i love to warm up for them...
and this one is amazing... :)
if you had Traktor scratch you'd know he looped the end of the last track!! Thats what the knob does not sync.
FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! fuck everyone hatin', that's the fucking shit right there!
@HeelofAchilles he's been on a detox in south east asia to try and rectify it, haha
@extacy791 I think maybe youre right here.. The fact is tho that hes getting gigs probly from his producing so djing is probably second to him. Im sure he dont give a damn what we think when the check rolls in
@frank198210 i dont agree.... i always loved the music this way
press the loop button
Wow, :D
yeeeeh
no mac,no tracktor..just a mixer,two decks and a bag full of vinyls
yeah
but this guy is a different one
he gets more and more fame around the last 5 years
so he had the most gigs in 2012 and is voted on the first rank
he knows to create a good atmosphere
in my opinion ricardo is the best but troxler is a bomb ...
land shark- tie me up(2005)

@siKnaStyProductions That is if sophistication ever settles in. I'm an American, and I can tell you that's a bold assumption. There are so many reasons why I say this that I can't get into it here.
Richie Hawtin and Luciano don´t press Sync too? .....come on... with Tracktor whole is automatic...welcome the technology
