As a proud Nigerian I am eagerly waiting for the first six set of m346 FA. But personally I would prefer the Su-30-35, F16 or additional JF 17 Aircraft.

Italy and Russia worked always good together, sadly, the different avionics used by Russian or NATO were not possible to realize, so both got different ways! which is sad, if they would have build it together this would be a even higher success!

Leonardo and Calabrian cucumbers. The aircraft is of purely Russian design and construction. Let someone in the know tell us what the Italians offered to build a ready aircraft in the years of the supposed joint venture in building the aircraft.

In the context of the collaboration between Russia and Italy in aircraft construction, it's essential to recognize the contributions and capabilities each party brought to the table. While the aircraft may have been of purely Russian design and construction, Italy likely offered expertise in areas such as manufacturing processes, materials, or possibly even specific components. This collaboration could have facilitated the exchange of knowledge and resources, ultimately leading to the development of a more capable and efficient aircraft.

@@isaacyiserecovery The knowledge of the Italians in aeronautics is too small to stand at the same table with their Russian colleagues. They went in as a consortium member, took the Russian aircraft and installed systems that are compatible with NATO.

@arkas6797 it about resources. That's it. Without France, GB, and Germany all of Europe, by definition, would be a 3rd world country. That said, 'Russian designs' have always been based on something the west did, first. Name any one of their planes (jets or bombers) and there's a western design that predates it that either matches it, or looks strikingly similar. Say, the infamous MiG-25 which was a ripoff the the American A-5 Vigilante, or more over its concept the NA-237 fighter bomber. Russian bombers, starting with the Tu-4 (a reverse engineered B-29), continued this trend. The US XB-70 followed by the Russian version T-4. B-1 followed by the Tu-160. US space shuttle followed by the Soviet Buran. List goes on.
My point being, the Russian expertise you speak of has no more legitimate claim as do the Italians, other than their lack of natural resources. Russia simply took something that was once German, British, or American and built an industry on it. And it never stopped them from going back. Italians share a kinship with their European counterparts in more ways than one, that make up the sum of a much larger part.

@@roblockhart6104 What is the culture of Germany, England and Germany that are not third world countries? Take a walk in their museums, their treasuries and their libraries and if you are honest with yourself you will see that they are a people of vampires, living off the history, gold and blood of the "third world countries". When did the Germans and English come out of their cave if they ever did? Are washing machines and tanks culture for you? If it wasn't for Russia, England and France wouldn't be a third world country, but neither would the imprint of the German boot. So what did the Italian known thieves offer in the design of the aircraft? Answer honestly.
