A young heir to millions has been overly restrained from normal youthful activities by his two old-maid Aunts. But when he meets a lovely girl, he decides to race her injured-brother's car in a big race!
How did this movie not win an arm load of Oscars?
Love seeing those old cars in action.
What a feel good film=The kind we don't see anymore. Thanks so much for putting this one on here for everyone to enjoy~!!!
This could have been a great series like the Perils of Pauline!
This is truly a fun film! Watching this young man made me feel "energized," & with these aunts we can certainly see why he appeared ready for the olympic games the way he moved so quickly . This is an enjoyable film from start to finish, especially the "athlethicism" he displayed in getting to that race on time & winning when those crooked people believed they had everything all set up. Lol never count those chickens before they hatch because one may come up short & they certainly did! Much Gratitude for the share & notifications that i never miss a new upload :)
The outdoor scenes of L.A. in the '30s are worth the watch alone.
Well, this is just plain 'madcap' ! ! ! And, that kid is/was pretty darn acrobatic!........Those race crashes were brutal. No safety harnesses, no roll cages, no fire suit gear.....just balls of steel. Men were men in those days.
Off-Road Racing is pretty rad!
And women were raised to be 'ladies'! Hollywood should be ashamed of the garbage they've been putting out for years now. Which I haven't watched anything from them in years. This is a great film and thank you for uploading it for many of us to watch!
@@zillionsofpebbles879Dude, this was raw footage of how racing used to be. Today It is modern and safe. A leather helmet and no seat belt or roll cage shows that they were tougher than us...
I wish I could show you folks the photo of my grandpa in the car he won the Indy 500 in back in the days shown here!
Please tell us your grandpa’s name! If he won the 500 he is famous! Sure would like to know.
Love this! I never saw this on TCM's line-up and I watched a lot of TCM back in the day. Fantastic!
Well worth watching, very entertaining film. The Barn Dance was jammin'!
Movie ahead of its time
enjoyed it...thank you for posting
It was a gem!
Many of the scenes of the race were shot at Exposition Park in San Luis Obispo, CA, Exposition was a dirt track popular on the race circuit and where Barney Oldfield, among other well known racers and top race mechanics, often raced. The track is no longer there, since the late 1970s it is crappy condominiums.
Thanks for the info, Ive never heard about that before and it is just so amazing...
Great movie from the 30’s.
A very good old time movie. Truth, Justice and the American way.
I just loved this one too PizzaFix!!! Hilarious!!!!

People were so free in those days . America is losing her freedom today ...Lets pray for it to come back ....Over regulation is chocking us ...I cannot even walk to the bayou right outside my house and fish without a license ...
Great movie!!
What?! Helen Hunt was in this?
Great flic, Dames, race cars, mobsters and a happy ending.
11:29 = Nice Chevrolet 'woody' and 1933 De Soto
Mickie Daniels was a child actor in the silent "Our Gang" short subject movies.
Also he, Dave, Gertie & Mary along with Grady Sutton & Dot Granger were in the Boyfriends series directed by future Oscar winner George Stevens.
So was Mary Kornman
Mickey Daniels was one of the original kids in "Our Gang"..........
June Marlowe was the teacher Mrs Crabtree from Our Gang. How the both have changed from 5 years earlier.
@@kenbritton6782 Not the same June Marlowe. That June Marlowe had already retired from acting.
now that's entertainment!!
People had such individual personalities back then.
This was when kids still liked cars. Today kids like to ...Text, Riot and Loot.
Excellent entertainment! Ron PTL USA
Daft Fun . thank you
Did you get kind of a Talledega Nights Ricky Bobby feeling a little bit when that car rolled and caught on fire? LOL.
Corny but cute oldie!
He sure was a great gymnast
Good movie!! That Mickey Daniels though, yukk
I agree about him. But the plot is stupid. On the other hand, there are great scenes of Los Angeles before everything was covered over with asphalt and concrete. It's all gone now.
Great mouvie ,⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Poor Mary!!! She could have done way better!
23:32 I named her Gladys. Why, because she was so slow? "No, because she was bow-legged."
Real Joy :-) :-) :-) :-)
I want o see he garden moonlight scene.
Gee this movie was swell!
She puts her hand on the hot exhaust at 18:15
Oh, you noticed that, too? I was wondering how many people caught that.
