The P-225 is really good for what it is. My only MINOR complaint/suggestion is that as Yamaha has gone to the trouble of making the"Smart Pianist" app, why they couldn't (wouldn't) add more sounds or variations via the app? There are a few "Easter Eggs" that aren't mentioned or even talked about. But here's one... The "touch" adjustment, by holding down the PIANO SELCTION BUTTON and pressing the highest, C, C# and D. The default setting is D (firmest touch), C being the softest and C# in between. But the setting "Piano+D" is a warmer tone than "Piano+C". This gives the piano yet an additional voice than with just the piano selector. Ergo, with the first (non) variant of the piano, the firm is warmer and the soft touch is brighter. Check it out.
Hi, I’m getting one of these for Christmas. I already have a Yamaha upright acoustic piano and play at diploma level. I just wanted to ask what stand you’re using, as the x type stand I have ordered isn’t that sturdy?
@@RimmersMusicVideo No, Ireland. It will need to wait. A stand came with the keyboard, but it isn’t great. I’ll probably upgrade to your stand after Christmas. Thanks, I’ll keep your shop in mind when ordering.
Great new piano from Yamaha. However millions of us expecting replacement for P-515...I hope soon Yamaha makes something Special ! Lucky European people got all this in first line. Thank you for nice introduction.
As Yamaha specialists we were delighted to get this new model in - it really is a big step up from P125! I'm not sure when any replacement for P515 will be, as the 515 is still hugely popular!! I'm sure it will be incredible whenever it does enter the market!
Thank you for this video. But there is one key issue: the speakers are in the back, and this can make listening worse for the pianist. I, for example, cannot place the P225 on the wall, does this limit the quality of listening? I own a P125 and am satisfied with the front listening. I am afraid, with the P225, that I will take a step backward on this. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you
Hi Marco, Thanks for your message. The placement of the speakers is an improvement on the previous models. They had the larger speakers on the underside meaning you couldn't place it on a flat surface without losing clarity.. I can say from playing the P225 it sounds great!
I just bought a P-225 and like it so far. The manual states using an App called Smart Pianist but I can't find anyone using it on a P-225. Haven't downloaded it and wanted to find out for sure that it works with the P-225 before I download. You know anything about it?
These kind of apps are generally created to help us to change between voices and configurations on the digital piano without spending too much time using the manual or using the manual, I truly recommend using it
Nice. I was thinking about the Yamaha P515 but it is a bit too expensive. What about the key touch of the keys, Are they ivory and ebony feel or something similar. I feel like most keyboards do not have enough grip and are slippery. They they resemble the one in p515 or at at least better than the p125.. Still it gives me a new perspective as I said the Yamaha p515 is too expensive. I assume the three pedals can be also added to this model..... And this model is far more affordable if it gets closer to the more expensive p515
Hello. P125 was as a toy speakers sounds comparable to P515. P515 comparable with real piano sounds. New P225 however improved sounds but still not comparable with P515. Main P515 flaw is way to "heavy" keys for lot's of pianists, newer and experienced, here is why P515 relatively NOT expensive.
I do find (personally) that the escapement mechanism on more entry-level models doesn't feel particularly natural. The depth of the key-bed isn't necessarily suited to it.. It's the age-old point- 'Just because someone can include doesn't that mean they should..' Each person has their own preference when playing, I'm sure many people will love the P-225, just as they continue to love its predecessor... Pete, Rimmers Music
Ordered this beast today :)

I’ll have to check this out! Is it just a new sound due to an even softer than soft touch?

Hi,
I have this on the TGI KT1..Great stand!!
If you give me a call at the Edinburgh Store I can get one sorted for you (assuming you're UK...?)

Is the key action of P-225 good for a beginner piano learner?
Hi,
Yes, all you really need to get started is 88 weighted keys. The GHC action is lovely to play!
Enjoy!!
Is it good key action to play more advanced classical pieces? Thank u!

P525!
nice review! Is the piano sound noticeably better on the P225 compared to the P145 from the internal speakers?
Harpsichord heaven ❤ !
What keyboard stand you are using here? 😅😅
Hi,
It's a TGI KT Table Stand - very sturdy!
@@RimmersMusicVideo Thank you!
Are all the Piano Sounds updated or is it only the first Piano?
Parece que el primero, tercero y cuarto. El segundo no

Hi,
Smart Pianist is indeed compatible with P225.

Could have key escapement too, like P515. Any Roland of same level has it.

Where I can get that kind of soport?
Only the sound of real strings cannot be replaced by any artificial, fake sound. The orchestra sound will always sound the best ❤
How the action compares with P125?
I'd say it feels slightly smoother to play.. well graded up the keyboard.. Pete
Wow it sounds so good man...but muchy expensive than p145 😢
How can a 2023 device have no usb-c😢..
Like almost all modern digital pianos, the P-225 comes equipped with a USB-B, which is industry standard for connecting to interfaces/devices.
