    Anybody else use the iPhone to help light up their dancing shots when your professional tools don't work? 🙋🏻‍♂

      @billem16 7 месяцев назад

      I haven’t yet but I might now! I do freak out sometimes about what if my camera messed up as the bride is about to walk down the aisle and the only reason I can sleep at night is knowing I could whip out my iPhone if I absolutely had to haha

    I appreciate the absolute honesty about the on-the-job problem solving. Sometimes I feel like such a failure because I don't hear people talk about how difficult it is to be flexible on the job. Seriously, this reassured me that sometimes we're all spitballing and that doesn't make me any less than the big people :)

    Hey Buddy, as always love your videos. great advice thank you for sharing. love the personal experience stories - priceless.... i personal try to have a similar set up for every wedding but yeah sometimes our gear is to much in some settings especially small weddings. i have shot weddings with no lighting setup so i do not change the feel and look of a room and make people uncomfortable just because i want my footage too look more better. the best shots are always candid shots without being noticed. sometimes videographers & photographers are to much and actually forget what a wedding is and push push couples to do too much.....

      Thanks so much! I love this perspective 🙏🏻 it’s so true that we often have a tendency to focus too much on the technical that we overlook the best path to truly serve our couples. If I had set up my lights, the experience could have been sour for some people. I like being that fly on the wall as well 🙏🏻 candids all day!

    Wow such a great tip! I’ve NEVER thought to use my iPhone for reception shots😂
    Also! I got some of the amaran 60x s’ per your recommendation!! Love them so much!!! ✊🏻
    Had a question though. Those things are INSANELY bright haha.
    Do you usually have them at 100% power? And do you use the included diffusers ? 😱

    • @WaywardNorth
      @WaywardNorth  7 месяцев назад

      They are SO bright haha I need a small diffuser I think that would be a great idea. I use them at like 20-30% power

      @@WaywardNorth hahaha! Okay I’ve used them at like 60-80 and even then I’ve caught myself feeling bad for the guests when I’ve accidentally looked into the light and it blinded me😂
      Did your’s not come with diffusers ? It almost looks like shoe covers when you go an open house😂

    So good bro! Love these type of topic that no one else is posting! Curious, you said you considered switching out of Log to SCinetone, what benefit was that going to bring? I’ve been shooting in Log the past 6 months or so and definitely use 12800 sometimes in darker receptions, but what does SCinetone help with in dark situations?

    • @WaywardNorth
      @WaywardNorth  7 месяцев назад

      LOG you really only have a few ISOs to choose from to get a clean image (800 or 12800) s-Cinetone from my experience offers a bit more flexibility navigating ISOs and reducing the noise output. Still some noise but a lot less to clean up later.

    This is why we also have smaller compact lights that we can pull out on the fly at any given time.
