    I'm a new spider plant momma. A friend gave me a tiny cutting/baby last year and now it has grown enough to produce babies of its own. I've just potted x5 babies that are doing really well and realised that I'm totally addicted. Momma spider has also quickly made another x12 babies, and I am going to snip them off to propagate them in water to watch their roots grow. I can see a future indoor jungle happening. :)

    This is the most amazing spider plant! My spider plant has produced many babies and just started flowering. I didn’t really know about the flowers and certainly didn’t know about the seeds. Very helpful!

    I really enjoy your video. It’s very interesting. I never knew the spider plant produced seeds and it good to know yours produced the solid green. I learned a lot here. I have struggled with the amount of light indoors and outdoors. I am thinking about trying inside again. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks, this is great. I recently got a spider plant that looked quite old but has tons of babies which I am planting up. I use spring water and distilled for my house plants. I have an 8" hanging basket and I'm wondering how many babies to put in it. Any advise ?

    • @dianemummvideos
      @dianemummvideos  4 года назад +2

      Hi Terri, you can do 3 but it will fill in pretty rapidly .. but if you do not mind water more and re potting later , it should look great in no time... or you could just put 1 and let it have plenty of time and space to grow..

    Hi Diane, fantastic looking spider plants. Just wondering, how old do you reckon both your large plants are? 4-5 yrs perhaps? I'm wondering how long it would take for 1 of your baby spiders to become as large and producing just like those parents...??

    • @dianemummvideos

      just a few years old.. I add several plants in a large pot.. they seem to grow fast and seem to like being crowded too..

    Hi Diane, I so enjoyed your video! Question- do you have any solid green spiders ? If so is it normal for them to grow only one stem that produces babies?

    • @dianemummvideos
      @dianemummvideos  3 года назад +2

      I don't... if I started the seeds I would have solid green color.. I have usually seen multiple stems coming off the main one... I wouldn't worry too much .. I don't know why plants do what they do some times.. I have always had very pot bound spider plants and they seem to like it provided they get the moisture..

    Hello! Thank you for your informative videos. I am confused about what you said about the watering. If I don't have a dehumidifier, and my tap water is hard water, what can I use? Distilled water? Spring water? I recently discovered that my tap water is hard water and I hae been slowly killing ALL of my plants! What can I do?

    • @dianemummvideos
      @dianemummvideos  4 года назад +1

      do you by chance have access to well water.. I mean I have used tap water forever but since I have other options I use them..

    • @sweetkakes875
      @sweetkakes875 3 года назад +1

      My spider plant does not like my tap water at all! My spider was my first house plant and i love the thing so much lol. I had to bring it back to life due to my tap water needless to say i put a lot if time into this guy and it is thriving now. I use room temp bottled water. I have little to no bowning now where before the whole leaf was turning yellow and then browning badly. I tried so hard to figure why it was doing that and it was my tap water.i also let the soil dry before i water again. I read that it was good to do that and that also seemed to really help as well. Also over watering causes yellowing of the leaves not sure if you were experiencing that as well. Good luck!

    What is dehumidifier water?

    • @crystalwall8158
      @crystalwall8158 2 года назад +1

      it's just the water that drains out of a dehumidifier in a house. mine has a tube out the back that we drain into a sink, but can put a bowl to catch it. others above tried distilled water (can be purchased inexpensive at Walmart) & others had success with plain bottled water. The main things to avoid seem to be the added salts & minerals that are added to tap water. I'm in Canada, & will catch rain water in buckets in the summer for my indoor spider plants. Good luck!
