Y'know, not many Phantom adaptations capture the sense of humor of the phantom in the novel. This, this comes very close to it. This scene makes me happy.
2021 and I’m still watching this. This is amazing! This version of the phantom is everything. His sense of humor and his charming remarks. Melts my heart.
Ramin is best musical Phantom, but Charles is all round best Phantom. The sass is second to none. Though Ramin’s singing voice is also second to none. I love both of them as the Phantom.
Charles Dance Phantom and Michael Crawford Phantom are battling for top spot as my favorite Erik! Tho it will likely just be a tie between them both since I adore both of their Phantoms!
None of them have to battle each other for the spot. They are all different. Michael Crawford, Gerard Butler, Ben Lewis, and Charles Dance are my personal favorites and they can all be my favorite at the same time. Crawford is my favorite of the stage Phantoms, Butler is my favorite movie Phantom, Lewis is my favorite "Love Never Dies" Phantom, and Dance is my favorite non-musical Phantom.
This is the best phantom of the opera ever I love charles dance make it so human not like a monster or killer I love he show just the pain and feelings of human begin
Well, singing, especially Opera, is more than just a voice and carrying a tune. It's about emotion, feelings, and telling a story in the way you sing!🙂 Which is the point of The Phantom and what he teaches Christine, and also what most of the men who play The Phantom on Broadway and other stages get wrong. They sing, and they sing very well, they sound pretty good. But they don't have the emotion that Erik's singing is supposed to have. Same with most of the women who play Christine, too. Great voices, but no emotion. You have to sing from your heart, not just your throat.
The actress has a great voice! It's just that her character is supposed to sound "bad" so she goes all in on the vibrato and belts it all out at full force. (Opera singers generally use a good amount of vibrato so that the sound can project through a large hall, but this is way too much) If her character Carlotta relaxed and didn't try so hard to impress people, she'd sound perfect!

This is the very scene that made me fall in love with Cherik, I am ashamed to say, I pushed Ramin Karimloo out of my Favorite Phantom spot for him
Those two are currently battling for my top spot as favorite Erik

Erik hated her because she was a bad person, not because of her voice actually 😂😂
