    While I've always enjoyed and benefitted from your videos, your current series of Climbing the Rating Ladder has put you at the top of the list of my favorite chess content providers. I've learned a lot about the game through your slow and insightful explanations of your thought process as you proceed through each game. Thanks to you Nelson, this 73 year old dog is still learning new tricks. I thank you.

    These tips are very handy. Like trading rooks on the opponent's back rank, instead of in my end of the board.

    These videos are great! I have been struggling with my ratings(was at 585(went up and down), last week 612) and currently am 711. Thus 99 increase over 7 days! Hope to see 1000 soon.

      Я за месяц поднялся с 600 эло до 500 до 1000 эло БЕЗ видео сам. Всё в видео мне очевидно и я не думаю что я особеннный, просто люди не думают во время игры а действуют на автомате и всë. Попробуйте думать как и он.
      Я считаю что эти видео никому не помогают играть лучше, они помогают научиться действовать не на автомате. Но этому просто научиться самому. Мне кажется вы переоцениваете эти видео, но я согласен что он делает их не зря.
      Он противоречит самому себе смотрите: Оно помогает научиться действовать не на автомате. Оно никому не помогло научиться играть. ГЕНИАЛЬНО. А потом: я не отрицаю пользу этих видео. Во даëт... Идиот.

      @@ForiendlyIt helps you get in the mindset. And he also teaches you what you need to prioritize. I knew what things were good, but I didn't know which one to do when.

    • @Foriendly
      @Foriendly Год назад

      @@isakoolssonЯ не отрицаю его пользу. Например он придерживается правила: сначала развивай коней а потом слонов. Это правильное правило о котором я не знал. Я немного по-другому вижу шахматы, вижу только упущенные возможности. Например для меня смысл игры что бы найти брилиантовый ход. В любой позиции я его ищю.
      Я рассматриваю шахматы как куча переменных а не игру. Это довольно стоанно. В любом случае я не отрицаю пользу. Просто написал небольшой бред. Кстати у меня вопрос. Как вы думаете английское комьюнити адекватней русского? Просто у меня нету друзей и я не знаю где их искать вдруг на английском сервере смогу найти их?

    • @isakoolsson
      @isakoolsson Год назад

      @@Foriendly Okay, no problem! 👍🏼 Cool thought process.
      I actually don't understand russian, I use google translate. I know some russian speaking chess players, so I definitely think you can find people to become friends with in the russian speaking chess community. But the english commukity of course has more people.

    • @ClayMurray8
      @ClayMurray8 Год назад +1

      One thing that can be more fun is get a course and give it a quick read through nothing serious. Then just try it in your games. You might make lots of mistakes just remember them and look it up in your course later. You still learn some theory but its much less like homework

    Openings are important but not everything. I got away by playing the Irish gambit in rapid (15/10 games) against 1500s (I'm at a 1700); but, 50-60% of the time, either the opponent falls under attack or he consolidates into a winning position but then blunders.
