I was at UCONN when Hurley played for Seton Hall. He was tenacious as a PG. I am elated to see him build this program back to where it should be. Hope he has same depth of talent and brings home a third title next year.
Im R.I. Native and lifelong huskies fan. I wanted Hurley from URI when Uconn fired ollie and they got him. Watching him coach URI I knew he was the one to bring Uconn back to the top and he has nit disappointed. I love everything about him and the teams he coaches. They are the definition of team work. I played on a lot of organized sports and it is very rare to create a culture and atmosphere like coach Hurley has. I tip my cap to coach hurley not inly an amazing coach but an amazing leader of men. Let's make history and get 3 in a row. Go Huskies............
Can't help but love his absurd cockiness. Giving of another generation of that manic Jersey City style of coaching that his father implemented (Who by the way would've made a great coach on any level) I say it's worth UConn's while to give Coach anything he wants to make sure he stays till he retires
Full disclosure I didn't think Hurley was the guy when he came. I used to say why do we have Rhode Islands coach at UCONN? I am a Jim Calhoun guy but he obviously can't coach forever...lol. I never wanted Hurley but I don't mind eating crow. This guy is unbelievable! Couldn't have been more wrong and now I just keep my mouth shut.
Im a RI native and if you can get URI to a sweat sixteen you can coach. I am the opposite of you and was ecstatic when they hired Hurley. I watched coach Hurley, he is a great coach and leader. Lifelong Uconn fan and RI native. Dan hurley has always been a great coach it isin his blood. His Dad is a legendary high school coach.
I remember I read an article on campus that criticizes Hurley with saying he never had experience with big league with big university and now he is a legend haha
