So glad you were able to get that dang filter off!!
Thank you for sharing Deanna Dikeman's book. The message really struck home just from seeing your mention of it. I have always tried to take artistic, creative shots. Now at age 65 maybe it is time to simply document my days and small things I see each day. Something to reflect back on myself later or after I am gone maybe my daughter would enjoy seeing life through my eyes. Something to explore.
Thank you for watching. That’s a beautiful idea. I have asked my mom to do that so many times. I do that myself even at 34 because I have an incurable illness I want to leave something behind.
Great video, Aly! Loved seeing the items you shared and spoke about. Especially loved seeing the photo books-so fascinating! Thank you for introducing me to them. The waving goodbye took me back to my own childhood-I had one set of grandparents who would wave goodbye like that when we left. It was so neat to see another family/photographer’s perspective on this. And the other photo book was great to see a look into the way of life in the second book.
Thanks. Yes I love Deanna’s book about her parents.
Great selection! That grip is a great idea! I might have to look for one to put on my FM!
They’re great
Excited to have found your channel from discovering that a Rolleikin kit was possible (even before having gotten said Rolleiflex lol)! Thanks for all great videos!!
Congrats on the Rolleiflex! It’s such a beautiful camera. I am glad that my video was some help to you and I hope you enjoy my other videos as well :)
The neck strap looks fantastic, it‘s hard to find good quality leather straps with Peak design anchor, so this is a good address to remember. :)
Yes I agree. I was impressed by Mark and his product.
Great tips!
Also, Encampment Wyoming is her photos as well as photos she had collected from amateur photographers from her photo finishing business. Still can't believe how seemless they are.
Oh really? I don’t remember reading that. That’s pretty cool.
You know I love photobooks - you happy for me to post this video in the photography books and theory facebook group?
Sure. Hopefully they will like it :)
Link to library guy? Appreciated, thanks for the suggestions.
Library Guy?
@@AlysVintageCameraAlley Gentleman you said, "nerded-out on photo books like we do" on a youtube channel.
Ahh yes. Alec Soth. He’s one of my favorite photographers. Here is the link to his channel :)

@@AlysVintageCameraAlley heading there now. Thanks
Love this type of video. The lens wrench is a great idea. I remember several years ago Adam Savage had a video where he had the same problem with a stuck filter and got it off with a band saw. It wasn't pretty. ruclips.net/video/J4qI8RC7QrM/видео.html
Omg I saw that. The filter on my lens looked as if someone had tried to hand saw it off in places.
