I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.
It always amazes me how close the 90cc saws can get to their much larger siblings up to a surprisingly large piece of wood. I get that these are ported saws and that's an entirely different ball game, but in stock form in this size wood the 90cc saws typically run a bit higher chain speed and hang right with the 120cc saws. They don't have the same ability to make up for a heavy hand at their limits but at their limits they are surprisingly close to the big boys.
Mr. S., great comparison video, what a great way to spend time away from everyone. Great muffler modd, music to my ears at WOT. Stay safe and happy cutting!
Have helped me. I ordered a 3120 canceled after 5 months wait. 592 promised next month. Not much time difference In cut at 5# or so lighter ill keep my 395 its milling 35 inch benches fine. Thank you.
I heard a while back that the Stihl 880 was slower than the husky 3120xp but in my book I like them both ain’t got nothing bad to say about neither of them except on the Husqvarna it has limited coils an on the 880 they’re unlimited
What type of squish are you running on the ms880? I have a ms880 with the same coil and lot of porting, timing turned up 3120 husky piston. Milled and ported. I might tightening up the squish a hair. Do you know what clearances are you running at?
Because the customer wanted the conversion to have the option for using 3003 type mount bars (261 up to 661 saws) with 3/8 chains on the 880 or the 3002 standard bars with the adapter rings if he want.
In my opinion, the 880 or 3120 IN STOCK FORM are basically built for milling. They are rev-limited at a rather low 10,500-11,000 range if memory serves and they make peak power around 8,500-8,800 range so they aren't screaming in the wood and have the torque to pull very long bars happily chugging along without overrevving for very long pulls as longer milling cuts can takes minutes or more at a time. A stock 395 also isn't as high revving in stock form as a Stihl 661 and in my opinion is slightly better than the 661 for milling even though it's also a very good option itself. A moderate muffler mod to help get heat out I would do on a milling saw, but not a hopped up port work job as the piston is less supported in the process of milling and your saw simply isn't like to last as long. It will cut faster sure but at the cost of somewhat reduced life. That will likely be argued here but i think it's generally accepted that ported saws have less life expectancy due to that, but it's generally not something that bothers people due to it's increased production during it's lifetime vs a stock or even muffler modded sibling over the same period.
Hallo Dechsi ich habe eine frage, und zwar kommst du von DE und machst du auch Kunden portting hete starkes interesse, wen ja bitte melde dich bei mir Liebe Grüsse aus der schönen Schweiz
Pound for pound, the 395xp is still the bomb. I’ve ran all three. When you’re talking about porting, most people port the muffler. If anyone has experience with two cycle engines as well as these chainsaws, keep in mind that the port the muffler and not port the intake only adds stress on the one end and you were out the engine if anything it hurts performance ultimately and blows up your engine. Also the chain, the bar and the displacement was not designed to run at that high an RPM. Both Stihl and Husqvarna design their size to run at the ultimate performance equation, particularly the Husqvarna XP line. Unless you were racing, competing and plan on going through Sarris quickly. Don’t waste your time just porting the muffler. Talk to anyone who’s done this and he’s actually used the saws for extended periods of time. Good video
All saws are fully ported, not only the muffler. Cylinders are machined (squish and base cut for more compression) intake, transfers and exhaust are ported with new timings. I have ported saws like this with over 900h of runtime fully ported to this day.
Hervorragende Arbeit!! Wir würden gerne mit dir zusammenarbeiten. Falls du Interesse hast, bitte sende uns eine Email an collaborators@quantumtechhd.com

I'm a stihl fan, but all those saws are legit rippers!

Wow! The way those beasts blast through the wood is amazing! Go Stihl!
You got all those saws really running!! clean port work as well.
Diese Sägen sind der absolute Wahnsinn!! 👍

Sharp chains for sure, it looks like confetti
One of The Best video with Best chainsaws greetings from România.
All those saws cut great.
great test!
Good.❤
All are really purdy man-glitter machines.
How did you do the bar studs on your 880? I would like to do that same mod on mine. Thanks in advance!
I would still pick 395 over two big saws ,nearly as quick with not as much weight .395 great firewood saws.
I would like to see a Comparison with these saws in good Hardwood
The true test
Good job, thanks for sharing. Did you square file hand sharpen that chain?
It's round file sharpened. 1:34
Did you change carb on 3120 to be able to tune high side ? If so which one did you use ?
I'm not surprised the Stihl won but I am surprised how close the smaller saw ran to the two big boys.

STIHL N 1 👍👍👍
Nice video, keep up the good work! 💪

What did you do for a carburetor on the 3120 ?

Klasse Video wieder steff.. Hast du den Vergleich kantenschliff schon fertig
Wieder mal ein sehr geiler Test !!
Good comparison!
Why not just use a stock 30” bar on MS and won’t need to mess with it..? 🤷♂️

Stihl ms880 = 121cm3
Husqvarna 3120xp = 119cm3
Husqvarna 395xp = 94cm3
Steff tolles Video :)
Was hast du für die Adapter Ringe genommen?
Scheiß die Wand an, Stephan! :-D Krass, was die 395XP so gut mithält!
Nice saws. Didn’t the EPA discontinue all these saws?
sadly, they did in europe
Love 3120xp's fuckin love them!
Die Kette war schön scharf. Schönes Video.
Молодец все правильно, отличное видео, лайк.
Round file or square ?
which saw would you use for milling out of these three saws?

Very nice

Klasse wärs wenn die Modelle mal mit ner 150er Schiene voll im Holz verglichen werden könnten. Aber so ein Baum liegt auch nicht immer mal so rum 😅
I know Husqvarna is a good saw although I will stay with the true king of saws Stihl..
Woah man

Hello buy Stihl ms 881 !!!
Saws got dull from going into ground when finishing cuts.
lol, there is no ground, that's two layers of wooden cookies and some sawdust.
@@Dechsi87 There was ground in the beginning . That's all it takes.
