Obviously for personal consumption and most definitely not being sold at native gas stations with a carton of smokes! Strictly speaking Ontario! You're a class act Andrew! Really appreciate you and your family! Your dad is awesome! Thank you!
What nice scenery out there Andrew. Good on you helping to feed those that can't get out too! Those Pelicans have been extending their territory northward for decades. They like most everything is breeding and being protected by fine sportsman and women and this is the result! I don't think they will eat them all.!! LOL Thanks for the videos!
My Dad and brother flew up there and fished out of the resort in the late 80’s, got some great video of their time, Dads biggest Pike was 24 pounds, a real Gator!! Caught a ton of Walleyes and Lake trout too! Dads long gone but we still have him on video doing what he loved fishing and hunting!! Good Luck!!
Love your videos,,That is a big lake ,I can see why you would need a GPS,,,Wonder what they have at the market at Hay River,, Be interesting,,Good luck hope you get a boat load
This is the kind of work you love doing and it's the kind of video I love seeing. It reminds me of working for Marine Fisheries for 4 years, fishing 2000 yards of net out of a 22' center console with a 150 Yamaha. The first year I was there was the last year we pulled nets by hand, and for the other 3 years the boat was fitted with a hydraulic reel up front to help pull in all the nets. It was a real back saver, especially for someone like me. We set in big water usually, close to the Atlantic in the Albemarle Sound, which still isn't as huge as Great Slave Lake. We only had to deal with ice one time, and we set and fished all winter from November to May
@@fellspoint9364 I was actually based out of Elizabeth City, a little more inland but there are several big rivers up there and the Albemarle Sound. A couple of weeks every winter we'd go to Manteo and set in the Roanoke Sound. I remember it was extremely rough down there a few times and the nets got slammed with Stripers of all sizes. The biggest waves I ever saw out there was at the mouth of Alligator River in Albemarle Sound and of course we were slammed with fish, which meant a long, rough day.
@Tammy Vincent- sounds like you had a great job. Are you still working on the water? I was just down that way last month on a tugboat. And it was rough offshore too.
@@fellspoint9364 I ended up working with Tilapia on a fish farm for 9 years and then getting into real estate. I do miss those days on the water and I might retire down there one day and get a boat. The fish farm and hatchery was alright but didn't have the excitement of being a Marine Biology Technician II.
Just want to say thanks for explaining what's going on. Can't wait to see the haul tomorrow! Love the video coverage and commentary of the area. You're exactly where you're meant to be...for now...haha!
@@TheWildNorth Dear Andrew ... Will the elders share with us ... some words of wisdom ... will they submit to a video to share with the world their wisdom ... particularly ... I would like to ask them about the Sasquatch ??? Respectfully submitted, Peter
How long is your net?? We're not aloud to use gill nets here in Florida anymore. I grew up on shrimp boats and my parents say I learned to walk on a boat before I did on land LOL I've fished my younger life for just about everything in the water. I messed up my back at the age of 25 and haven't been able to work since and I'll be 56 the 30th of this month. I miss being able to work on the water though and kind of work would be great but water is still my love Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up

@ Tammy Vincent- did you guys run out of Wanchese or Manteo, NC ? Those are some good fishing grounds, in the Sound or the ocean.
