Anyone else annoyed by the interviewer? Whenever Bill mentions someone in the context of his story, the interviewer mentions that he interviewed that person. 😂

Bill Ackman sounds like Shogo Makishima. I'm praying someone understands my comment. Lord please

I think he's disingenuous. Think of every company Ichan built. I can't either. "Activist" in 2023 translates in English to "Cut fat and muscle" ; to a NYC banker, making a distinction between muscle and fat is nothing but a quaint idea. (and leverage them up) I have little doubt they're good for shareholders in the short time they own them. Ask the other stakeholders 10 years from now if that's true. Buffet has owned Geico for 60 years. See's Candies, too etc etc. He believes in spending on depreciation. He BUILDS. Ichan et al window dress and flip.
EDIT: A new book, "The Plunderers. How Private Equity runs, and wrecks, America", speaks how NYC bankers control 35+% of whole industries they have no experience in. They all follow the same playbook: cut cut cut cut costs. Raid pensions. Raid healthcare. Sell real estate & other assets. Customer service plummets. Buildings fall apart. Profits skyrocket. Head counts fall. Debt skyrockets. In 3 years they window dress and sell. The bankruptcy rates are 10X the average. Because it's all about cash flow. Warren Buffett is a BUILDER. He is not an operator. He is an investor. But he does not skimp. He buys with an outlook to hold forever. Therefore he will not invest in businesses that buy into nonsense like EBITDA. His investment companies spend on R&D, depreciation, health care, pensions etc. They are run by pros in that industry. The reason these "activists" bankrupt companies is they have a 3 year window. Strip them naked; sell what's left.
