Chase Oliver right as usual. Ending war and discouraging war is much cheaper and more ethical than paying to expand war.
I am a boomer and I’ve always agreed with most of Libertarian Party’s platform. My generation has had their chance and they have not done a very good job of it. Mr. Oliver is right to call out all the old goats in Congress to step down. My hope is that the younger generations will embrace the Libertarian Party so that they can put the antiquated two party system on the shelf where it belongs. My advice to the younger generations is to get involved in this party because they follow the Constitution and they will work to get government out of your lives as it should be. The two current parties are drunk with power and corrupt to the core. It’s up to the younger generation now to create change.

Great ideas! Thank you for mentioning all the American values that made America great and how much is needed to put into use for the good of our future. Preaching about peace and diplomacy, you got my vote. This should always be the focus in building a strong relationship with other Countries, so that we could live in peace and harmony. The real estate market *should* "fall out from under" people who assumed it would be a safe investment. It's artificially propped up by massive government restriction of supply in the form of zoning laws. We need to allow developers to build high-rise apartments in the most expensive areas, like Korea and Japan do, which will dramatically bring down the cost of all housing, including separated houses for those who want them. Extreme zoning restrictions aimed at making home ownership a guaranteed investment (rather than the consumption good it is), is one of the most anti-libertarian aspects of our society.

The rest is regulations that control what products businesses actually make , consumer pricing is done bythe govt, they say what the price of wheat, meat, gas,and oil will be, they legislate so that we are taxed in quadruple. Insurance is a controlled tax. I could go on. A free market works on its own, with no guidance. It is the perfect barter system, with the exception of conumers pay money, while businesses provide the product.

I disagree on one point.
The reason that International Trade is even possible is because the US Navy protects International Trade Routes.
So while I don't think we should be taking a side in the wars of other countries, I don't believe in being entirely isolationist.

I am 81yr's and have been libertarian since the early 80's, but I have no illusions that we will ever win. Why? Libertarianism calls for common sense and personal responsibility, Americans revel in their victimhood because many groups want to give them free stuff. I was never offered a free lunch without strings attached which would have cost me my freedom, so I decided to work for a living.
I’m listening to Oliver because of RFKJ. I left the Democrats because of RFKJ. I voted for Oliver instead of Biden in the primary because of the education I got from RFKJ.

The financial markets didnt fall out from underneath us, Congress bailed out automakers, because Congress passed legislation and regulated them out of the ability to make a product consumers wanted or could afford. Oregon is broken for many reasons alongside drugs. Oregon protects it's poor and addicted better than it does it's clean and hardworking people. It's easier to be homeless there than it is to work. Not to mention, they refuse to let people fail: it spends a ridiculous amount of money saving people from overdoses and protecting the homeless. These people keep surviving just enough to weigh on the common people, but not enough to contribute.

Actual libertarians embrace the anarchic principle and strive towards that. And that's the issue we have: We have many embarrassed conservatives and minarchists that are making arbitrary compromises to the detriment of not only other libertarians, but to everyone's quality of life. We also have many self proclaimed anarchists, which is probably 96 percent of people who identify as such, who aren't even anarchists because they are caught up in demanding outcomes requiring planned society. Anarchism is a position against authoritarianism. It is not a substitute for ideology or principled action. If we can start with freedom of choice/freedom to dissent, then, and only then can we have a foundation for exploring what works best.

Building wealth is what eliminates poverty, which means low taxes and cutting unnecessary regulation, not turning on the money printer (which is just an indirect tax), or taking it from the 1%, who will just put the cost onto consumers.
