      Marr in his later yeras was what the Sith don't want to be. When Sith become like Marr the cease to be true Sith.
      He contradicted fundamental Sith philosophy. He hated the selfishness, elitism, hunger for power and need for domination of the Sith, despite the fact that these attributes are the basis of what makes someone a Sith (besides force-sensitivity, obviously). That's why he adopted parts of the Jedi code into his personal philosophy ("There is no death, there is the force.") which made it possible for him to become one with the Force. Something, no true Sith could ever achieve, because to become one with the Force you have to accept that the Force is alive and has a will. Other than Sith who try to unnaturally bend the force according to their will, you have to see the force as an ally and act according to it's will. This makes him the only "Sith" for whom the phrase "The Force shall set me free." ever became reality.
      It's the ultimate fallacy of the Sith: They think that freedom and eternal life can only be achieved by following ones selfish ambitions, victory and breaking one's chains. But in reality, they never gain true freedom, as they are trapped within their selfish ambitions and never-ending hunger for more and more power that will inevitably lead to their downfall. No mater, how much power a Sith gains, they will never be truly free. They also lose the only chance of true eternal life (becoming one with the force). Marr was open-minded enough to avoid this road to perdition.
      Or in other words, you can only really break your chains by violating the Sith code, which is what Marr did. The Jedi code may not be perfect but the Sith code only leads to ruination.

      Thanton undermined the Empire because the Sith Tradition he follows ultimately damage the empire in the long run like the destruction of the Fuel for the naval force of the inquisitor while it may have been damaging to Thanaton in the long run it would have damaged the Imperial Navy even more. and Baras was egotistical maniac who hungered for power.

      @seb0rn739 3 года назад +5

      @@lablimpet Neither Marka Ragnos, nor Nihilus, Bane or any other Darksider became one with the force. Thereby they aren't force ghosts but Sith spirits. Only Jedi or other Lightsiders can become one with the Force (Yes, this means that Marr is a Lightsider or at least a grey Sith.). The Jedi are right, when they say that "There is no death, there is the Force". Upon becoming one with the Force, you keep your conscience but leave your physical boundaries. You become truly immortal and can manifest yourself (in any form of your choosing) in the physical world by becoming a force ghost anywhere you want and even interact with the physical world to some extend.
      Sith spirits are a totally different thing. Darksiders cannot become one with the force. Sith deny the truth that "There is no death, there is the Force" and instead think that death is the end (which is also one of their sources of fear, as Sith feed on negative emotions like fear). Some very powerful Sith refused death to be their final end. They really are dead but they still struggle against it. They “persist through sheer force of will” but unlike Force ghosts they are bound to a place (like a tomb), an object (like a holocron) or a person (like the Sith Inquisitor in the game).
      This means, that Sith spirits are merely ghostly remnants of once-powerful but now dead Sith, while force ghost are the immortal conscious minds of powerful Lightside entities.
      The Lore on this is pretty extensive but if you really want to get into this topic:

      It's up in the air. We've never had confirmation of relation between those two. I have asked before, with no concrete reply.
      Anyways, the thing is with most of the Sith we meet in SWTOR. Is that they all came to their position during the war (The one we saw in the cutscenes for the game before it launched). When we play the game, it starts after that war has "ended". So the Sith we meet, again, are all champions of the previous, drawn out war. I feel this was used a shroud explanation for a lot of the Sith to cover up their origins for future plot lines.
      Example, Darth Jadus returning? He could have an awesome back story connected to Marr when they were younger or anything. We don't know I suppose. But they do now have the creative freedom to play with it, if they choose to.

      @@wrynightraven5255 This in fact, made him a grey Sith. Bachstabbing and infighting is what Sith inevitably do! True Sith could never dedicated themselves to anything but themselves. Marr was good for the Empire BECAUSE he was no true Sith. Not the backstabbing and infighting of the Sith is what is bad for the Empire; THE SITH are what is bad for the Empire.

    How the hell did a dark side user become a force ghost? I know there were sith spirits bounded to a place or an object but Marr became a light side Jedi like force ghost. How is that possible!?

    • @SWCentral
      @SWCentral  2 года назад +1

      Some sith lords are said to remain in this world long after they are dead. They roam their tombs in silence for hundreds or even thousands of years. Darth Marr became a ghost because his will was not yet complete. His ghost came across Satele Shan and they argued about philosophy until they eventually found a mutual ground. One of Marr's quotes for you.
      "In life I dismissed the Jedi code. I was wrong. There is no death, there is only the force and it, has a plan." - Darth Marr

    Honestly if he was still alive I think he would’ve made peace with the Jedi because as I see it in the Star Wars universe I think the Sith to be a warrior striking down the enemy by any means necessary but also have a code of honor like Marr and the Jedi be the shields who defend the people who cannot defend themselves because let’s be honest the jedi were never meant to be warriors guardians and sentinels possibly

      Jason Hill no, Marr never had a face model. They used a place holder just to fill in the gap.

    I've seen Marr's face. He's a balding black man in his 50s or 60s. I kept his lightsaber with me after he died too. Like I did with Acina and Dramath. Unfortunately I can't use any of them, but it is turning into quite the collection.

      Yes. I've noticed a lot of characters in SWTOR share faces. Even some with large roles.

    • @rydout
      @rydout 7 лет назад +5

      No, that's not what he meant. Marr never had a char model for his own face, they used a placeholder, they used Mandalore the Vindicated's face --- literally.

    • @StannisHarlock
      @StannisHarlock 7 лет назад +1

      Oh I knew what he meant, but I was kindly disagreeing. At this moment it is literally the only face he has, and no one can say he doesn't have it.
      For instance, if they never give Marr his own face, I will find it quite interesting if people continue to refer to the face he does have as, "a placeholder." The character is dead in in the story, the Marr apparition appears in mask only, it's been several years since he died. That "placeholder" is very likely permanent.

    • @rydout
      @rydout 7 лет назад

      Very true - but I think it can also be said that his face was never meant to be seen so they never gave him his own face and never will so we will never know, and that the ph was just that, a ph lazy way for them to not give him his own model and therefore not his face as I dont think they intended any one to strip his mask off when they made him a temp comp.
