I don't know if it works in your region, but old log houses here in Sweden had gaps in between the logs insulated with moss, grass, and/or sawdust before being covered with adobe mud. Moss works best because it contains a lot of air pockets and thus offers decent isolation. Not sure what you need for your log house since you live in a tropical area but I hope you find this useful.

Once you do the finishing touches on your new cabin and if you start getting or making containers for your animal feed to stock up on and stock up on more seeds, your farming life will hopefully get easier. But you may need to sell more things at the market and buy more chickens or something. I don't know how much chickens you have left. You might need to fix up your chicken coop. Do you think you could use more chickens? Maybe you could build another chicken coop somewhere else like where the old pig area that was fenced in.

Ok so I did some research on chickens and vegetables and they say to put rocks around the best of your vegetables so the chickens won't dig them up! Also if you can make wire at all you can put that around your plants that way you can get the benefit of the chi Ken's eating the bugs yet your vegetables stay safe. You could use netting too. I hope this helps you with your problem of chickens in the garden!❤

I don’t think that I would risk adding a fireplace to this cabin. He has a more secure rock house with a fireplace and he has a kitchen with appropriate cook fire places. Winters there are not that cold there. A few extra blankets can keep him warm.
