Is Lockhart the mecca of Texas BBQ? We tried Terry Black's Barbecue in Austin last year and it blew our minds so we had to go to the smoked meat barbecue capital of Texas, Lockhart, to visit the original Blacks BBQ where it all started!

Thanks for the great and timely video! I watched this last Monday and had to go to Austin for business on Wednesday. Terry Black's was minutes away from where I was staying so I got the beef ribs per your advise. You were right - WOW - best ribs I have ever had. Pricey, but I would absolutely do it again!! Great tip :-)

Here in Texas , there's gotta be thousands of Bar B Que joints. It wouldn't surprise me if Terry Black's wasn't in the top 10 of the best. The meats are AMAZING and as quiet as it's kept their sides are delicious AF. They have one here in Dallas in Deep Ellum if you're ever up this way. I'm impressed that Nathan knew enough to focus on the meat itself and didn't smother it in BBQ sauce. And my hat's off for not saying "fall off the bone" when describing the ribs. When someone uses "fall off the bone" as a description, you should view it as a red flag and lower your expectation.

Which RV park did you stay at in Austin? Taking a new trailer out and we can't decide to go into Austin proper or Lake Travis.

Well slap my ass cheeks! We went to Blacks in Lockhart. Sticker shock but so worth it!! My mouth was literally watering when you wiggled that rib, 🤣. Excellent Video guys. Oh, and BTW, on washing the rig, Dave has actually been outside when it rains ragging it down....he's a crazy man.

You’re going to all my favorites. First you went to Bill’s Hot Dogs in Ypsilanti last year. Now you stayed at my go to RV park when in Austin. But, next time go a little further down from Lockhart to Luling for City BBQ. And of course we live just down from the NB Buc-ees so we are always there. Like the other comment you should spend some time in New Braunfels there’s a lot to see and do. Safe travels.

Why promote Buccee’s when they are not friendly to RV’ers? Signage states customer parking only but doesn’t mention 3 hr limit. Many of us dry camp and will spend dollars at places friendly to us. No more of my $ at Buccee’s. Just a fancy C store!
Didn’t know about the 3 hr limit, that’s not cool. We do enjoy the abundance of choices there but were also shocked at how their prices had gotten really steep. We spent $14 for two pieces of jerky and a sandwich. Thanks for sharing that Deborah, we’ll take that into consideration going forward. Cheers
You can get the meat sweats just by driving through Lockhart. As to parking at Buccee’s, no semis are allowed, but that 3 hour parking limit must be on a store-by-store basis. I’ve seen folks dry camping at several stores.
Not that I need to tell you this... but good bbq needs no sauce.
